I'm over at UCSD for some summer research and this is the best spot on the med school campus! Great portion size and food is all very flavorful. You can order ahead on grub hub, and the staff was extremely pleasant about getting your food. Lots of nice outdoor seating too. While scrubs might look like a dress code here, Club Med is a great place for a quality lunch for anyone on campus!

Club Med is considered one of the specialty cafes that accept dining dollars and triton cash! Students venture out here when they want to switch up the environment a bit. I've been here a few times before and I would say they are consistent in what they provide and do. I ordered: -Fall Harvest salad: dried cranberries, almonds, feta cheese, pears Pros: -good variety: good variety of sandwiches and salads to please the crowd! -good customer service: professional staff here! Always smiling! -consistent portion: pretty good amount, and consistent with everything! They don't have to weigh it because I'm assuming they are already trained in eyeballing everything. Cons: -confusing lines: there are two doors to the place, and their isn't a specific "enter" and "exit". If you want a salad, you go to the salad bar, instead of waiting in one line. Tips/Observations: -Add ins such as tuna or chicken is an additional $1 -good amount of seating indoors and outdoors! -Soups/oatmeal is right next to the open dessert bar -similar salad style as Foodworx in Sixth college. Overall, I would come here again to try other items! People love the flatbreads here, so that's on my to try list for next time!

New chicken cordon bleu uses different chicken now :[

Prices increased and my favourite sandwich has changed as well! From what I remember, it was $6.95 for a sandwich last school year and this year it's $7.25 (maybe not exactly, but it's definitely more than 7$). They've introduced some new items this year and offer a weekly special (the time I went was a black bean burger that actually looked pretty decent). As for the chicken in the chicken cordon bleu, it is no longer the tender, juicy chunks of chicken, but instead, dry and salty deli-sliced chicken. I was soo disappointed when I found out because it really just wasn't the same. Club Med is still really busy during peak lunch hours and if you go during those times, oftentimes they don't let you customize your sandwich and will hand you the sandwich with what the menu says. Normally (when it's less busy), they'll call your order and ask what you what on it and you can pretty much get whatever you want.

This cafe is located on the UC San Diego Medical School Campus. There's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating available. It only opens from Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 2 pm. Breakfast is offered until 10:15am, and lunch is offered until 2pm. Awesome place if you want to grab a quick lunch, chat with friends, and/or then relax under the sun. They serve ecoGrounds coffee. You get the coffee by yourself, and whole milk, non-fat milk, and SOY MILK are available at the counter next to the door after you pay for your coffee . YASSS the soy milk is free of charge. They also provide discount to the coffee if you bring your own mug. The Coffee taste fine to me. It would be a great morning boost for me if I'm in a hurry heading to the nearby Biomedical Library. SOMETHING TO EAT: I've only tried the lunch here. They have Turbo sandwiches, salads, soups, and pizza for lunch. I usually order the turbo sandwiches when I'm hungry, and order half of the salads when I want a light lunch. When's there's not many people in line, you can custom your own sandwiches and salads. My favorite sandwiches so far are the City Slicker ($7.25) and the Bay of Pigs ($7.25). The bread is pretty tasty, and they toast the sandwiches for you. I usually add the extra grilled onions to the City Slicker. YUMM. The roast beef in the City Slicker could be overtoasted, but still tastes pretty good. They have a specific counter selling desserts too. If you are affiliated to the university, there's a 10% off when you are paying by Triton cash. They do take credit cards too. SOMETHING TO DRINK: There's one big fridge where you can find different beverages including Starbucks drinks, Arizona teas, and sodas. Also, they serve oatmeal in the morning, and you can find two kinds of soup in the cafe everyday.

Small cafe in a university campus. Nothing special. Mostly a captive customer base, with no real competition nearby.

Friendly and hard-working servers. Beautifully made and tasty cocktails. Food was fresh and perfectly cooked. Probably the best tasting thick "chips/french fries " that my family I've ever had (my family normally do not like the thick type of french fries)! Loved the Roast beef sandwich with flavorful thick au jus sauce and horseradish sauce. Short rib eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce was excellent, but the roast beef sandwich was surprisingly better. Perfectly fried hash browns (the type that I love which are like flat tater tots rather than criss-cross potatoes). Waiters surprised by daughter and my nephew with delicious birthday brownies à la mode for their birthday celebration too! Thanks for a fabulous meal at California English!

What made it even more frustrating was that the waitress appeared to be helping and acknowledging other guests while we continued to wait. This was especially disappointing since we had a baby with us. We were also celebrating a birthday, and our server asked if we would like the restaurant to cut the cake for us. We agreed, assuming it was a courtesy, as no fee was mentioned. When the bill arrived, we were surprised to find a $4 cake-cutting charge. Had we been informed beforehand, we could have made our own decision, but the lack of transparency left a bad impression. Overall, the service felt inattentive and the unexpected charge left us feeling disappointed. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

What a super chill venue!…read more Went here with my sister's friends for Sunday brunch this past weekend. The venue is pretty stellar! They're dog friendly, have large grassy areas and corn hole; it's such a vibe. It's all about the outside dining area and that awesome wall of jasmine flowers. It was breezy and the scent traveled making the experience super unique. We were famished and everything on the menu looked next level good. Our waitress Cynthia answered all our annoying questions. I got the lavender lemonade to start and it hit the spot. The lavender was perfect, not too perfumy (not a word apparently but it is today) but enough to say ok, there's lavender in there and I like it. It was refreshing. My main meal was the chilaquiles which had a nice kick to it so beware if you can't tolerate any spicy flavors. It was more of a soup in presentation but I love sauce and may have licked the bowl because I'm classy. We also desperately wanted the side of potatoes because we kept seeing it and all of us ended up getting an order and did not regret it. The potatoes include the skin, salted and super crunchy. It's like fry well fries and I'm all about it. We will be back!!!

Our party of 40 had an open bar with a bartender who took excellent care of us. We had a buffet that featured spicy pork belly, portobello mushrooms, rice, beans, fresh corn tortillas, and all the toppings to build our own tacos. For dessert, we had fruit tarts. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. If you're considering a venue for a business event or a holiday gathering, I recommend checking them out.

Was a little disappointed here…read more Photos looked great so I was excited to try this place out. We ordered the buffet options but it felt really lackluster Charcuterie board was mortabello(I think) and turkey with Brie and Cheddar. That's all. Sausage felt overcooked Two egg options (scrambled, and egg white frittatas). Everything else like what you can get from a continental breakfast For $35, felt like I could have paid $15. Made me regret not paying $20 for egg Benedict Al la carte. I saw some people order à la carte and one ordered buffet. I didn't know that was an option. Thought that was a nice option to have. Otherwise, mediocre experience ruined by high expectations

I was a bit disappointed to learn that even though the breakfast buffet is listed on the menu as an option, it really is only offered on the weekends. With that said, there are still a number of breakfast options available, and I quickly found my favorite dish on my first try. I ordered two cafe free eggs scrambled well with cheese along with crispy bacon, and crispy potatoes with some wheat toast and orange juice. It was the perfect size of a meal. Other dishes available five dishes "from the pantry" including a fruit plate, pancakes and French toast, egg dishes like an omelette, the dish I got, eggs Benedict, and grains and greens bowl, and two regional specialties. I enjoyed every part of the dish I ordered, and I liked it so much, I got it again the second day. I was surprised that unlike other hotels, breakfast didn't start until 7 AM on any day of the week. They only serve breakfast at this restaurant with it being served on weekdays until 11 AM and on weekends until 12 noon. The serving and host staff were all wonderful and ensured that food was prepared as ordered and came to check on me multiple times. I was delighted by the service and would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine.
