Snooze is a popular breakfast spot, so expect a wait. We had to wait quite a while for a table, but once we were seated, everything went smoothly. The food was good, nicely presented, and the menu has lots of choices. Nothing was particularly outstanding, but everything was well prepared and enjoyable. The service was friendly, and the overall experience was positive. If you don't mind the wait, it's a good place for breakfast or brunch.

My second time visiting Snooze, and it was a better experience than the first. Joined the waitlist via yelp and it gave a 11 min wait time. Took about 30 mins then the waitlist dropped me without them calling my name. I talked to the hostess and she added me back to the waitlist and we were called. The waitress was very efficient and didn't waist any time getting our order in for coffee and food. The French toast latte looks better than it tastes. It's a typical very sweet latte with not much espresso. The spuds deluxe was my entree of choice and it was ok. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon/avocado were good however their hash browns aren't crispy but more room temp and somewhat soggy. Overall they miss the mark for the hype they get. Of you go, get there early but don't expect the world when the food comes. Gets really busy quickly so expect to wait.

They had a special today. It was a Matcha and pineapple pancake, and I usually get the Benny duo but I opted for something a little different and they said it was their special pancake so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try something new. What surprised me was how this Matcha butter worked so well with the whole pancake. Now the pineapple chunks were a little funky. I don't know if I would put that many in there as they did, but overall the taste with the strawberries and the almonds were pretty good and I would say getting breakfast at snooze is a good four Star experience. The server was great kind checked in on us and I appreciated their attention. Just a note this was a weekday at 8 AM

Snooze La Jolla's breakfast was just what I needed to start my day! The perfect amount to fuel me up, but not make me want to take a nap afterwards! I am simple breakfast girl, but with a flavorful taste. The bacon was a crispy with a great savory flavor. Not greasy and left me wanting more bacon. The eggs were not dry and nicely fluffy. The hash browns were also not dry and were quite yummy. I love sourdough and this sourdough was not overly toasted which was great. I ordered to go, but I was glad the service was quick, pleasant and my food was hot!

I always love Snooze in Arizona. This is my first time at the La Jolla location in San Diego and just like the rest- it did not disappoint. I got the mix and match eggs Benedict duo. My usual is the bella bella benny and one that they didn't have on this menu, so I tried the avocado smash instead and it was good! My friend got the spuds deluxe which looked so good. Also the bacon but different was so good! Our waitress was sweet and gave us good recommendations and was just overall chill and fun to talk to.

No wait on a Wednesday lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating both available. Service was friendly and quick! I got The Snooze Classic, which came with 3 eggs your way, protein (chose bacon), hash browns, and toast (chose sourdough). It was solid classic breakfast vibes. I liked the hash browns and sourdough toast the best. Tried some of the Spuds Deluxe as well and it was pretty good. We shared the cinnamon roll pancake (not on the menu) and it was delicious! Definitely on the sweet side and a very indulgent treat. Loved the sweet sauce and pancake texture was great.

The wait is usually long but always worth it. The eggs benedict and pancakes are amazing. I went for my birthday and got a nice treat at the end as well. Consistent service, clean and attentive wait staff. It's my go to for a solid brunch, I prefer it over Broken Yolk even though it's further from my place.

Decided to give Snooze a try after an early work meeting, and I'm glad I did! I'm not really a breakfast person, so a lot of the menu wasn't quite my thing, but the sweet potato veggie smash up caught my eye and ended up being perfect. The portion was just right--filling enough for a light meal without feeling too heavy, and reasonably priced too. At first I thought there were a lot of pickled onions, but I actually found myself wishing there were more since they helped cut through what I think was a slight bitterness from the asparagus. Definitely a great option when you want something light but still satisfying!

I always love stopping at Snooze. It's always delicious and accommodating of food restrictions. The hash browns always hit the spot.

I stopped by Snooze for a solo brunch and it was absolutely worth it. Everything tasted fresh and really well thought out. I ordered the gluten-free sweet potato pancakes and they were excellent. They had a soft, fluffy texture with just the right amount of sweetness from the sweet potato -- not overpowering, just warm and comforting. The outside had a slight golden crisp, and the inside was tender without being dense (which can sometimes happen with gluten-free options). Honestly, you wouldn't know they were gluten-free. I also got the corned beef hash with gluten-free toast. The hash had nicely crispy potatoes mixed with tender, flavorful corned beef. It was savory and satisfying without being greasy. The gluten-free toast was actually good -- properly toasted and not dry or crumbly. To drink, I had a strawberry mocktail that was light, refreshing, and tasted like real strawberries instead of syrup. It paired perfectly with everything. One thing to note: it was very, very loud inside. Definitely a high-energy brunch spot. I had my noise-canceling headphones on, which was a must for me, and that made it much more enjoyable. The waitress was incredibly attentive and asked if I needed anything multiple times. Overall, the food felt high quality and flavorful, and I really appreciated how strong their gluten-free options were. Even going alone, it felt like a great little brunch outing. I'll definitely be back.

Situation in a very typical La Jolla shopping center. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I was greeted quickly after entering and seated. I ordered the new French toast latte. It looks cute but the toast on top made lots of soggy crumbs in the coffee. It drank more bitter than I was expecting. For food I ordered the triple protein omelet. It is a large portion that comes with hash browns and toast. It eats very sweet due to the amount of ham. But the use a very generous amount of meat and cheese in the omelet The booth they sat me at was comfortable and I appreciate that the table is moveable. Everything was clean and my waitress checked in enough to be helpful without being overbearing. This is one of many locations and it is what you would expect for snooze, friendly & standard.

Eggs Ham Benedict III* and Mimosa

Snooze has been a favorite destination of mine for more than a decade, I suspect the only reason I've never written a review is because I don't want it to be any busier than it already is? One of the perks of living in southern California is the opportunity to have brunch seven days a week until the middle of the afternoon, which seems to be Snooze's mission. Yelp and the Snooze Mobile App have the ability to place yourself on the waiting list for a table if you're within a certain distance which I've used many times and has saved hours waiting in line over the years when they're busy. When I'm by myself or with one person and we want something quicker the counter is first come first serve. So so many delicious things on the menu: I'll start with what I had today which is the classic eggs Benedict with the side salad - cooked perfectly, the exact right amount of hollandaise sauce, the side salad was dressed perfectly and the pine nuts add some texture and some salt. The classic mimosa really hit the spot. If you like hashbrowns, there's are somewhat unique and delicious. I love that snooze has a single pancake on their menu, which is perfect for 2 to 4 people to take a couple bites if they want, but don't want an entire stack of pancakes. I mentioned the classic mimosa but they offer other juice options for mimosas, and they have a full bar with other breakfast cocktails. I love the palimosa, the mocktails are good, their coffee is very good (ignore that in the photo I am the monster who brings his own Starbucks to breakfast, purely a timing thing today). The service has always been excellent, the place is always clean, no matter how busy it is I feel like I've always had an excellent meal and a great experience.

For mother's day, we chose Snooze in La Jolla and we left stuffed. The place has such a cool, upbeat energy and crowded. For drinks, we got Good Morning Margarita which was spot on abd light. If you want something fun and different, the Orange Dreamsicle Float is basically a liquid dessert--so good. We also did the standard coffee and hot chocolate, and both were as we expected For food, must try for the table OMG French Toast. Seriously, "OMG" is right. We got this to share and it was the star of the show. Super rich and definitely hit the sweet spot. Son chose Smash Burger, You gotta add the egg and bacon. It's messy in the best way possible and hits way harder than a regular burger. I had Biscuits & Gravy, Proper comfort food. The gravy had great flavor and the biscuits were nice and soft. Mom chose Garden Omelet and little one chose Egg Quesadilla: These were great, too. The omelet was packed with veggies so it felt a bit "healthier," and the quesadilla was just easy, cheesy brunch fuel. It's definitely a popular spot, so it gets loud and busy, but the food is worth the wait. Great place to grab a big meal before heading out for the day. Just a heads up--get on that Yelp waitlist before you head over!

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Snooze, an A.M. Eatery

Did snooze in La Jolla change hands recently?

    Not to my knowledge.

Are dogs allowed in the outside area?

    Yes

    Do they take reservations?

No. But you can get on the waiting list via Yelp.

What Vegan and gluten free options are there?

Hey there Olga! One of my personal favorites is the Spuds Deluxe. This dish usually comes with eggs and cheese, but you can request it without and add four toppings of your choice. The BRAVOcado toast can also be made gluten-free, and to make it…

Can they accommodate a peanut allergy?

We always do our best to prevent cross-contact, but since we do not have a separate area for preparing allergy-sensitive items, we cannot guarantee that there will be no cross-contact. For those with severe allergies, eating at Snooze will always…

I chose the closest Snooze to SAN airport and got on the waitlist. Ended up the directions were for the La Jolla location! Glad I checked with the Host when I got to La Jolla. The Host said it happens frequently!…

Yikes! That doesn't sound good, I have checked the address in our Waitlist for both locations and they are correct. I will be sure to share this feedback with our internal team to avoid this issue in the future. In the meantime, continue to enjoy…

Is there outdoor seating right now?

Hi Julie! Yes - all of our Snooze locations offer outdoor seating.

Is this location open for outdoor seating?

Yes! All of our Snooze locations offer outdoor seating.

My 13 year old son has Celiac disease and has a severe reaction to gluten. Do you have gluten free options that can be be prepared with no cross contamination?

Thanks so much for reaching out to us about our gluten-free friendly items! We're flattered you want to brunch with us. We want to let you know that Snooze is not a gluten free restaurant, as we do carry products that contain gluten so…

    Are they gluten free options?

Hi Nico! Only two things on our menu cannot be made gluten-free friendly, the Breakfast Pot Pie…

Is this one open for dine in?

    Yes

Is there a dog friendly seating area?

There is patio seating for pet lovers. Snooze has a water bowl for pet guests too!

How early should I get there for 10am bunch on a Saturday?

Depends on how many in your group. 1-2 people, I'd be there at least 30-45 min early. However, my suggestion is...if you have less than 6 people, put yourself on the waitlist (using Yelp) so you'll know for sure before you go. You'll find it on…

How long is the wait around 11:30AM?

The wait times vary day to day and the number in your party. Saturday and Sundays the wait can be up to an hour or more. If there are less than 6 in your party, I recommend…

They apparently have happy hour all day on Sundays. I tried the peach mocktail and it was very yummy, so I appreciated the $5 off. For dinner, I ordered the branzino (the one on the menu and not the special). I was told while the one on the normal menu was $47, the special was $55 and the only difference between the two was the special would be lit on fire table side. I didn't feel the flames were necessary, so I skipped that. (However, the special did mention a sauce that I'm not sure was actually on the regular one, so I don't actually know.) A few minutes before the food came out, they asked if we wanted it all together or if it would be ok for my husband and our friends food to come out first since they were still finishing my fish. I said to just bring it out when it was ready, however they ended up bringing it out together anyway. The confusing part though, all of our meals weren't served warm? You'd think if they were waiting on mine to be done it would have been at least warm? It wasn't. The branzio was very plainly seasoned, tasted heavily of oil and was also somewhat dry? I got it with the whipped sweet potatoes, which was very creamy, which was unlike any way I've ever had sweet potatoes before, but they didn't taste particularly good? We each tried them and none of us could figure out what it was like, but we all agreed we didn't enjoy them. My husband got the arrecherea, it was fine, but also cold. The fries it came with was probably the best part, they were crispy even while being cold. Our friend got the stuffed Mediterranean Stuffed Pepper, his meal also wasn't warm, and he said some of the rice wasn't cooked all the way and it was hard. We also got the Puccia Bread & Spreads after seeing positive reviews. I normally love feta cheese, but the feta dip was kind of sweet? Same with the eggplant. The only spread that was good was the butter. Personally, I thought the bread was fine? But it was almost a bit doughy. Overall, we weren't very impressed with the meal. It had a lot of potential, but the food just didn't hit the mark.

The place was lively, but luck was on our side: one perfect booth remained for the four of us sweet seekers. We settled in and immediately starting gabbing (versus checking out the menu). George came over to take our order. Without even glancing at the dessert menu (a bold move, I'll admit), I asked for one of each dessert to share--paired, of course, with a couple glasses of Scarpetta Rosé bubbles (okay so I glanced at te wine menu). Priorities . What arrived was equal parts surprise and delight. First, a charming little glass jar filled with lightly whipped crème fraîche and topped with salted caramel--simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious. And then... the "hamburger." Cue the table going completely silent. Naturally, we had questions. Our server walked us through this masterpiece from the bottom up: a golden caramel cake "bun," topped with a chocolate-coated ice cream "patty," a delicate mango gelée "cheese," and even "pickles" made from matcha cake. Finished with a second warm cake layer and a touch of garnish we were too excited to fully catch--because at that point, we were already diving in. The contrast of warm cake, cool ice cream, and rich chocolate was nothing short of fantastic. Playful, unexpected, and genuinely delicious--exactly the kind of dessert experience you hope to stumble upon. Thank you, The Whaling Bar, for the sweet surprises. We'll absolutely be back--next time for martinis, and I've already been told the duck meatballs are not to be missed.
