Highly recommend! An old friend visited me in LA for the first time and was experiencing extreme fatigue/depression. He was sleeping for days at a time. Had very low energy. When he would talk it would be very low and hard to hear. It was difficult or him to go anywhere. This remained the case everyday until a close friend connected me with Master Albe. My friend highlighted the extreme power that Master Alba has to heal. I became aware of all the others that were healed and I graciously gave Master Albe a call. It's truly amazing like the other reviewers said. I have been suffering from menopause anxiety, hot flash and night sweat for years. After taking 3 Taichi classes with Master Panida, my hot flash and night sweat is completely gone. My husband & I signed up for the in-person session, and within the first 20 minutes, I wished that I could leave and get a refund... The lady in the front escorted us to the yoga studio, and the yoga instructor was already teaching her ONLINE class in the corner of the studio! We were told by the lady who escorted us there to, "just follow what she's doing". It was very awkward, jarring, and just weird! The instructor was more focused on her online class. She didn't greet us at all, barely looked up at us, or leave her spot to check on our form. I thought it was very RUDE, DISMISSIVE, & OFFPUTTING for the instructor to pay more attention to her webcam than us. Plus my husband & I were the only 2 people there in person and they made us wear a mask the entire time (with the instructor literally in the corner, 30 feet away from, us wearing a mask too) If I knew this was how it was going to be, then I would've just watched a yoga tutorial on Youtube for free. When I first visited this place I was suffering from severe chronic fatigue and anxiety. I began taking classes 2-3 times per week. It took a few months but I began to experience benefits like feeling more energized, relaxed and happy. Eventually I felt so great that I decided go off and start a business! Unfortunately, while running a business, I neglected my Body and Brain regimen and eventually crashed. I restarted my practice here shortly before the pandemic closures. Even online their methods work like a miracle for me. I started coming to this center in January. The instructors and Dahn Masters Elba and Shin are incredible. Right away I was treated with so much warmth and kindness. They truly care about helping you get strong and healthy. Two months later, Covid hit and the center had to closed. They immediately had a plan in place to continue to teach the classes on Zoom and offer seminars and special classes both in the mornings and evenings. I miss seeing everyone in person, but I am still able to enjoy taking classes in the comfort and safety of my home. Thank you Brea Body and Brain! I feel stronger, calmer and more centered. I rarely review, but this is a place worthy of more than 5 stars!!! I booked an appointment here not knowing what to expect as I know nothing about Tai Chi or Yoga. But I knew they were open 7 days a week and had a very comprehensive yet structured health program. My body and brain was a mess, but I felt at peace by the end of my 45 min trial session. I attended both morning and evening sessions for 2 weeks straight to get familiar with the rest of the staff and people also looking for a healthier lifestyle. It's been almost a month and I feel like a newer, better ME! There's classes for children as well and they have special events around the holidays and throughout the year. I have family on the east coast as well and my mother, who was visiting and familiarizing herself with the Center, is looking to join when she returns home. They have numerous Centers throughout the country and your membership can be paused when on vacation, or you can simply attend another Center where you happen to be. Words cannot express the level of help and dedication the staff AND members offered to me. Body & Brain is different in fantastic ways. After only 3 months, I feel at least 10 years younger. I've been to other yoga programs that focus on stretching. That's nice. But Body & Brain helps improve all of you - both your body and your brain. The yoga classes improve flexibility and core strength. And the brain programs are even more beneficial. For example, I attended their Finding True Self workshop. That was a life changing experience that has led to greater focus, serenity, and productivity. The staff are absolutely awesome. They set the standard for what it means to be a complete yoga master. They are warm, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, sensitive, and highly skilled. They teach while leading. This really isn't YOGA. Its more of a Korean-based exercise class. They make you wear uniforms similar to Karate uniforms and do some chanting/counting in Korean. I was a student here for about a year and I liked it up until they started to push me into their 'higher training program'.... then it started to smell very religious and 'cult-like'. I did alot of researching on this organization on the Internet and I decided that a traditional Hatha Yoga program was better for me. If you are Strong willed and not easily swept into their zeal for spiritual growth - the exercise they do isn't all that bad. But mind you, they will hit you up for more and more money as you "Progress" in their training regimen. read more

Last summer, I was gifted a voucher for three classes by my sister and decided to check out the facility and their classes by dropping in without making an appointment. The studio is located in downtown Brea on Birch, nice and cute. They are on the second floor and the sign only says "Yoga" in purple but as they are the only yoga studio on the street, not too hard to find. I like how you can park on the second level of the free public parking structure attached to the building and just walk in. It's a sunny, cozy feeling space, everything seems to have its place and create a warm feeling which I liked. It didn't really look like my typical idea of an Indian school of yoga studio from outside, no bikini-like yoga clothes or rolled mats in view, but a lot of books about their practice methods and related topics. The staff, or instructors were friendly and they told me that this was a Korean based system of exercise and also the classes are easy to follow but don't expect a conventional yoga class you would expect from 24 Hr Fitness. Well, all I was looking for was something to help me relax and shake off some of my physical and mental stress ever-present in my life so why not! It was definitely different and I mean mostly in a good way. Regular classes are a mix of stretching, meditation, breathing techniques and a special exercise segment that varies each day, either intensive stretching or vibration or using "wooden pillow", etc. They also use music with almost anything they do, from meditative ones to dance music. At first, this felt weird but all-in-all, I do enjoy it now as this makes things more fun and helps you to focus on what you are doing better. I've been going on and off for about a year now and more on a regular basis since the beginning of this year - as a part of my New Year's resolution...hope it lasts - and am beginning to understand what is really going on in my body and "how my body and mind communicate through energy" and that this is a natural thing and I can control emotions and my condition better because I am experiencing these connections first hand. They also have a pretty wide range of programs and hopefully I will try a couple soon and see how they are. Yes, this isn't really yoga at all. It's called Dahn Yoga, it's a lot of bouncing up and down and hitting yourself in the stomach, and these Dahn chains advertise a lot by flyers left at local walk in restaurants and chains. It wasn't bad, but I was looking for something more traditional like Hatha Yoga. I definitely wasn't sore after my first visit, and I hadn't done Yoga in close to a decade. IMO, that's not reaching the parts of the body I was intending to reach. That's not Yoga. Also, what the other commenter said about "Zen & Fit" yoga is also true. "They" (the entire Dahn Yoga chain) can be very pushy about putting you into very expensive continuation type programs, etc. I too looked into Dahn Yoga's history and there's just simply too much negative press around them. They are accused of cult like activities, and at one point were being sued by some of their staff who said they had been mislead and were subjected to many cult like deprivation tactics in order to get them (this is the instructors mind you) to invest ridiculous amounts of money into furthering their training with Dahn. The whole thing just smells bad. Like they say, where there's smoke there's fire. If you're looking for traditional Yoga, this isn't it. If you're looking for relaxation and simple moves that you can do from day one, this could be a good fit. Regardless, leave your credit cards at home because they'll be looking for them. read more

I am so so grateful to find an exercise that I could do with Sciatic Pain, L4L5 injury & torn tendons in both wrists. As a former gym aholic, my injuries caused me to find a new habit of eating until I found Body n Brain. Lots of personal attention from Insructors insured that my injuries were not exacerbated from overdoing it. With Instructors personal care my pain lessened with each month. I noticed almost immediately a difference in my breathing & stress level. After a year & a half of consistent training, I was able to walk pain free, lost 79 lbs & more good news was that I got off anti-Depressants.
