Sooooo, I did an entry class here to see if I was going to like pilates since I've never tried it before. Thankfully they were offering a free 30 minute intro class to everyone who wanted to try it. The staff was polite, all smiles and willing to answer any questions we had(it was a few of us taking the class). They inform you before coming to sign a waiver and to bring grip socks. No worries if you forget them the day of class, they have many options to choose from, for purchase in the studio. I got mine from Amazon beforehand. The studio was neat, clean and organized. Highly recommend!! I love this Club Pilates located in California, Maryland. Been a member here since 2020. All the instructors are very experienced and each brings a unique work out every time. No one work out is the same. The instructors are very helpful and will give you alternate moves if you have a problem with any certain body parts. My favorites are flow and center and balance. This is a great way to get yourself in shape and toned without much risk to injury. I usually take a 1.0 or 1.5 class. If the 1.5 is a little tough, you can adjust to your own fitness level and instructors are great at observing if you are struggling and will give you tips on adjusting the moves to meet your level so you can keep up. They will also give you more challenging options as well if you are able. There is never any pressure or embarrassment if you struggle. Unique thing about Club Pilates is it is good for all age ranges. I'd like to say I have a favorite instructor, but they are all excellent and each brings their own unique style to the table. I frequent Sherry, Kerry and Andrea's classes because they have timeslots that fit my schedule. Sherry's flow 1.0 class is one if my favorites. She works a little tai chi in at the end of each class and offers great stretching, strength training and helps you work those teeny little muscles you didn't know you had. I have pain in my lower back, but her class really improved my condition and I don't have the pain that I used to have when I sit down and stand up. I walk out of there feeling energized and stretched with a slight ache in my muscles --but the good kind that help you know you are toning and gaining strength. Andrea's classes are awesome. She is very skilled at ensuring you're applying the proper technique and excellent at communicating the moves. She keeps the lights on so she can see that you are applying proper form and working the correct muscles. Some people complain about the ceiling lights, but I appreciate them for the reason she is keeping them on. I just close my eyes when I'm laying down on the reformer table. Her instructions are so clear you don't need to watch her. I really appreciate her style because I feel it's important to ensure you're working the muscles as intended in her workouts. Kerry is another of my favorites. she makes her workouts fun. She's bubbly and funny. She too is great at communicating the moves and ensuring you are using the right form. Kerry really challenges me and I walk out of her class feeling awesome and too with a slight muscle ache that helps me know my workout was effective. I also feel really stretched and refreshed after her classes. Bottom line... Every instructor I've ever had at Club Pilates has been top-notch. you're always greeted with the smiling happy face when you arrive and you leave feeling great. read more

Honestly really loving Pilates! I am still new at everything but I feel amazing after a class especially with Maria. It's really inspired me to go back into weight lifting too so I can work on other parts of myself. I can't wait to try the other classes and move up in Pilates. read more

The instructors and staff are very friendly. They listen to your concerns and easily offer up modifications as needed. I was easily able to freeze my membership for travel and most recently for back surgery. I am now back after being cleared by my Dr but need some more modifications and the instructors are able to keep an eye on me without making me feel like I am taking away from other members in the class. I needed a full knee replacement on both knees. I was overweight and out of shape. I saw the instagram video of ladies (guys do it too) with silver hair doing Pilates. I signed up for the intro class and found that I liked it. Now 2+ years later, I LOVE it! Had the knee surgery in 2023 and the other in 2024. i made remarkable recovery and was back from PT in 2 months. This may sound hokey but Pilates has changed my life. I fill youthful, my balance is solid and I'm flexible. I'm 69 and look better than I did in my 50's. I will never stop. The atmosphere is loving and supportive. Give it a try! BTW I have lost 50 lbs. The workouts are fine - typical Pilates so no surprises there. One star because OH MY GOD the membership practices are practically fraudulent. I joined at 24 weeks pregnant to do something to keep my core engaged but low impact - Pilates is it, right? I called them before signing up to say that there were two classes per week that I could attend with my schedule. No wiggle room or flexibility. And I also made sure they knew I was pregnant and 24 weeks along. They assured me the 8 class per month membership would be perfect and if I had to miss a class here or there, they would just roll over to the next month so I wouldn't be paying for classes I didn't use. They also said that even if I have to sign up for the wait list, 99% of waitlisted people get into the class so I should just count on that. 1. What they said about the waitlist was about 50%, not 99% so there were some classes I didn't get into that I was counting on for my membership classes to be used and when I didn't get off the waitlist, they became excess classes for the month (since I could only fit the 2 specific classes per week). 2. They don't open the next month's classes until around the middle of the month. If you aren't refreshing your app at the right time when they open the classes, you're going on the waitlist for the high traffic classes. 3. Your classes available are based on your membership date so you should try to start your membership right before classes usually open for the next month because the classes you get expire after a month. That made for a lot of confusion when I went to sign up for classes right when they opened then only had 6 classes available of my 8 because my membership hadn't renewed yet. I moved my membership date and that resulted in a double charge (see below). 4. If you're pregnant, there are limits to the level of classes they are allowed to let you take. I told them I was 24 weeks pregnant when I signed up. One of the only two classes I could take each week was a level 2, I believe. When I was 34 weeks pregnant I was told I couldn't take that classes past 16 weeks (yeah, 10 weeks doing it before they enforced the rule that should have precluded me from the class from day 1). 5. When you say you have a set schedule and can only attend specific classes, they will just ignore that and tell you it will work out. When I ended up with excess classes that were going to expire, I reminded them that I could only attend the two specific classes per week and EVERY TIME they said, "Well, what about the class after that one?" I ran out of ways to say that I'm an adult who knows her schedule and pre-determined I could commit to THOSE TWO CLASSES ONLY. it just couldn't sink in that I have a job and other commitments. So frustrating. 6. When I found out that I could no longer attend one of the two classes that would work for my schedule because of the pregnancy limitation on that level class, I explained everything above and said that I just wanted credit back for the classes I hadn't used and I wouldn't bother them anymore. Know this: if they get your money, you're not getting any of it back EVER. There are no refunds EVER and they will blame "corporate policy" as an umbrella term and stick to that. They will remind you that you signed the terms of agreement so they're protected...and they're right, it's just so sad and frustrating that they make hollow promises and assurances to sign you up then take absolutely no responsibility for their mistakes when it costs you your money. I will say that they did try to work with me as I went through all of this nonsense. I'm guessing they are used to people just leaving money behind after such horrible policies are enforced but I was never going to let them off the hook and just kept calling and asking for help. They kept working with me when they should have just refunded my unused classes. If you plan to get an unlimited membership plan, none of this matters but for those who need to keep a budget and are working with a monthly class membership, beware. read more

Great workout! I've been doing this for three years and it is awesome! I like all sorts of exercise (HIIT, swimming, hiking, marathons, triathlons..and CrossFit for a while too, all awesome).. Club Pilates is a great place for an all-around workout.. if you're a guy, come give it a try! (I'm a bit biased), but really, come give it a few months! You'll love it too! read more

I have been aware of Pilates as a fitness discipline for many years and am so happy to see that it is FINALLY available to the general public in supervised classes using good equipment. The variety of exercises and equipment means you never get bored with the "same old routine". The instructors are professional and ensure the movements are being performed correctly. Everyone there (classmates/instructors/management) is really nice and are interested in making sure the students(customers) have a healthful, cheerful, positive experience. As class members--we come in all shapes and sizes and ages -- we are encouraged to learn the moves and perform them to the best of our ability without hurting ourselves. Personally, I am seeing great results (think upper arms, ladies) and feel a lot more physically empowered to do a number of things I stopped doing because of aging, life changes and the home isolation we've all experienced of late. To me, it is a fitness PRACTICE...and as they say, practice makes perfect! This studio is just that--Perfect! The cost is fair and the service is professional and embracing.
