Jen was incredible! Even though the class was completely full, she somehow made it feel like a private session. She took the time to help everyone maintain proper form, offered modifications when needed, and knew exactly when to push you with encouragement just as you thought about giving up. Every muscle in my body is quivering, and I walked back to my car limping with a trail of sweat behind me--but in the best way possible. I have been in club pilates industry for more then 5 years. I have been in every orlando studio, every tampa studio. Front desk in south tampa location is best one I have seen/ encountered with. They are always trying to provide as much information as possible for future and current clients. Instructors are all fully certified and providing modifications if it is needed. Levels are designed specifically for perfect progressions. I hear a lot instructor say to group setting: slow down. It is like anything else in life you try to go too fast to reach higher status body,health, and mental health will be disappointed. Pilates is so much different then any other fitness exercise. I love it and won't stop. Favorite move: airplane. read more

UPDATED REVIEW : Samantha is a DREAM! I'm incredibly sensitive to peoples energies and hers was welcoming and warm from the second I stepped foot into the studio. She gave us tips and tricks for our footwork and had such a fun spirit! Once class started, her ques and music were ON POINT! Even the way she demo'd was graceful and dance-like but never did she make any of us feel like we were less than if we couldn't push to a harder variation. That's really important to me as someone who is new to pilates and want to make sure I'm keeping my form all while staying safe. Some instructors are gruff, sassy, non engaging, looking at their phone, standing in one place the whole time and all around come off as disinterested or annoyed. Not Samantha! I have taken private pilates sessions off and on for 3 plus years. After taking a few classes with Club Pilates, I truly enjoyed the atmosphere, the equipment, also the incredible instructors I was fortunate to have. I recently became a member, challenging myself to better form, and attend over 4 classes a week. So far so good, and not one class is the same, ever! I am grateful for the experience of each instructor and the individual enthusiasm, it's like they know exactly what my body is telling me. Their ques are on point, they know their stuff. I am so happy to have finally found a type of exercise I am in love with. Club Pilates is barely two months old and is already a hit in this area. I took a demo class with Sydney (love her!) in early June and I was hooked. I had had prior Pilates experience with my chiropractor, but this was a whole new level. I signed up for the Unlimited Membership and I immediately became a Pilates junkie. There are different levels and varieties of classes offered at various times from early morning to early evening. Once you sign up for your membership, you schedule your preferred classes through the Club Pilates App. Classes hold a MAXIMUM of 12 people. IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER: 1.) If you need to cancel a class (unlimited members), you must cancel twelve hours prior to your scheduled class, otherwise you will be charged $10. 2.) If a class is full, sign up for the waiting list. Most likely, you will be able to get in. (not guaranteed, though) 3.) You can only schedule fifteen classes in advance. The staff at Club Pilates are friendly, attentive, and efficient. I cannot say enough about their amazing instructors. I love that they all have their individual favorite areas of focus, from breathing to stretching. I love that the classes are small so that the instructor is able to manage all the students. Don't be intimidated by the machines or the lingo, just like everything else in life, it is a learning process and the staff is really good about working with you. CP also offers individualized instruction, if you prefer one-on-one training. Demo classes are offered at various times in the week. Come in and give them a try. read more

From the moment I walked in the door at Club Pilates South Tampa, I've been in love with this studio. As a newcomer to South Tampa that is floating back and forth between 2 states, I was searching for a place to not only have high quality workouts, but to seek new friends. This place has it all - welcoming front desk staff and a friendly manager (Katie). They also have incredibly talented instructors (Michaela, Liz, Andrea, Samantha, Nadia, Eunice) that provide high quality sessions with spot-on cueing and welcome you by name as you enter and ask how you've been. They take the time to ask what your limitations are and provide coaching if you are struggling with movement. I've even had instructors come to me after class and help me with things they noticed I was struggling with so as not to embarrass me during class. I LOVE this place so much I purchased a Passport membership that allows me unlimited classes at South Tampa and anywhere else in the country. Since I live in 2 states and traveled a bit for work, this was important to me. Two and a half years later, I'm still a member and have hit nearly 800 classes. As someone that has visited about a dozen Club Pilates locations, I can tell you that I've been very spoiled by the South Tampa location. It's a beautiful studio with wonderful clients that feel like family so much so that it's hard to walk out the door at times! Their instructors and the variety of classes they offer is by far superior to any other location I've attended. Especially as someone that has taken as many classes as I have, I can say I've never been bored. They offer more variety or more advanced classes than any other location I've visited. As I've reviewed other reviews that provide some poor feedback on instructors from CP South Tampa, I can tell this studio has taken the feedback to heart and have acted upon it. So don't let past reviews about brash or bored instructors looking at their phone detract you - that person is no longer there. This studio listens to their clients. read more

Wow talk about out of touch! Classes are only 9-2? Nice I guess we see who your catering too

I first posted this on google reviews but want everyone to beware. I went about 3 weeks ago for the 30 minute intro class. I received an email after signing up, but no information that I would need to bring any equipment or come prepared in any way. I got to the studio and they said I have to have grip socks to take the class. I understand policy, but why would you tell me right before the class starts when I have no other option but to purchase overpriced socks right then and there? I had to pay $20 to participate in what should've been a free class. I understand the policy, so I got over it, but it just felt like they wanted to get money in a sneaky way. I would have bought some more reasonable priced socks before if they had told me policy before! Then the instructor came in. She was so incredibly disengaged, unwelcoming, short, and rude. I felt uncomfortable even telling her about my limitations and then when she was sternly telling me in class to stop taking rests (again, this is my FIRST pilates class, why are forcing me to push through pain?) I had to super uncomfortably tell her the move was too hard for my body. She had no interest in the students or class. I talked with all the women after the class and they agreed. No one signed up. Chose not to sign up despite wanting to continue learning pilates. I wasn't going to say anything because I knew I wouldn't be returning, but then they texted me for a follow up. I explained everything I wrote above, and a kind woman called me to apologize and said none of that should of happened. She said the manager would be in contact with me to go over what happened. Manager never called! It's been more than a week, no contact from the studio after the front desk lady said I would get a follow up. That is why I chose to write this review. They don't care about new students or making your experience enjoyable. They don't care about true follow up after a poor experience. I would not recommend this studio. read more

Katie, Wish you had actually read our input. The reason you do not have a client by our name is because we are a group of concerned ladies that don't want to be labeled as a "Karen". Please listen to us, we are concerned. Don't tell us you have a max capacity of 33 when you only have 12 reformers...don't count your retail space, you are hedging, not complying. Ask yourself, if the CDC Tampa check on your studio for the 1.0 class at 10:30 on Sunday, are you compliant (it is full)...you know better. Why have we not seen your employees cleaning equipment, as we mentioned in our original note? You and the owner know you are not in compliance, as HCO sees a spike in infections, please bring your studio in compliance so we can enjoy a great Pilates work out! read more

I joined Club Pilates here in Tampa about 2 months ago and I couldn't be happier! Whenever I walk into the studio, I am greeted with a smile & by name from the lovely ladies at the reception desk, who are always so sweet & helpful. The Instructors are TOP-NOTCH too! Throughout the class, they're consistently explaining how to get into positions, how you should be & feel in the position, modifications for positions (if needed) and where you should be feeling it (and by "it", I mean that "feels-so-good" burn!) in your body! Good classes. However , make sure you READ the contract. Initially I didn't join because they had a $75 application fee application fee. So they waved that fee great! I joined. However, if you agree to take four classes a month you pre-pay ok no problem. If you're traveling and you only use two of the classes you lose the other two. They do not carry over for the next month. That didn't work for me. I've only been a member for of months and decided to cancel. I was charged $100 cancellation fee. My fault!! I should've asked more questions and read the contract in detail. If you join and your plans change after a short period of time they will charge you to cancel. So beware. read more

Everyone there is so kind and are happy to help new clients to Pilates as well as those who are masters! I've been attending since they opened and have never had anything but a fantastic experience. I have a chronic illness and they work hard to accommodate my needs and tailor each class to my limitations. If I miss a couple of days they call and check in on me. That's not just a business but a vital part of my support group. Each instructor is different and I learn something new from each one. Gill breathing, meditation, pressure points, proper form, "Caution, caution" and "Get it!" as well as "zip your corset", "pain to the level of sweet satisfaction" and "belly to spine." Fitness clubs will do a lot to capture new members and sign them up for expensive training/workout packages and make them feel good with extras. Club Pilates doesn't do enough. Its price per class is about $40 and up, depending on your timing. Plus a membership fee. Plus the (surprise!) cost of special "gripping footwear". Nobody told us about the special required socks, so there went $40 even before the "free" class. No info about where to park was provided either, so we circled on the streets until we found a pretty rough space. There's a nice workout room, and a single male/female restroom, but no lockers (they have open cubbies), no water, no towels, no refreshing wipees -- it's stripped down to the basics of the workout room and an area where they sell plenty of "gripping footwear". Staff is exactly what you'd expect, Stepford Brittanys and Chelseas who are very serious about your footwear. Instructors and former dancer-types know their stuff, but an intro class was so easy it left us wondering if we'd really get any kind of workout or "feel the burn" to make the considerable investment in membership worthwhile. Then there's the parking. This Club is right across from Daily Eats, and anyone who's tried finding parking on South Howard Avenue -- at any time of day much less prime workout time -- will be banned from class (but charged fir it!) because they'll be more than 5 minutes late every time. read more

I absolutely love this studio and the teachers here! I was a Club Pilates member when I lived in San Diego (4 years ago) and was so sad when I moved to Tampa and there wasn't a Club here. Lucky me when Club Pilates came to south Tampa. The studio is clean, welcoming, and there are many class options offering a range of challenges. The teachers are all so energetic, encouraging, and motivating. I specifically love going to Sydney, Beth, and Liz's classes. read more

There has got to be a better option than this. 1). Very inflexible membership- if you cannot make the class, but don't give more than 24 hours notice, you lose the credit. When you do cancel, you have to pay for an additional month. In their words a "30day cancellation policy" but bc they bill every 30 days, paying for a month you don't use is inevitable. 2.) Very poor instruction. Reformer in general is variable from one trainer to another, but one constant should be close observation and corrective feedback. This was VERY rare here. One instructor even went so far as to spend the whole class sitting on an unused machine looking at her phone ( while wearing some retail she pulled off the shelf and left the tag on, I assume she did not pay for). I was told when I raised my concerns that a manager would call me... That was 5 days ago only positive is it's nice location. I may have put up with the high price and rigid membership if the classes were decent. read more

I was really excited to try the demo class at club Pilates because they just opened up right down the road from where I lived and I had never tried Pilates before. I do yoga and work out in the gym daily, and I was looking for something to switch up my routine. Being completely new to Pilates, I was glad they offered their intro classes for free so I could determine if it was for me. When I arrived to the class, the woman at the desk informed me that I had to purchase their required $17 toe socks to take the class (so much for "free" demo class). The class initially seemed fun, however, and I was excited to try something different. They had a variety of equipment, but in the first 2 minutes I was already over it. The instructor (not sure what her name was, but she was short with dark brown hair) continued to make rude and passive aggressive comments to me about my appearance and my abilities throughout the class. She was either unaware or did not care about the disgusted looks she continuously gave me. The class itself was not challenging whatso ever; there are a ton of other places in South Tampa to go to for a better price where you will actually feel good after the class. I felt extremely judged by the staff members and it was not a welcoming environment. Needless to say, I will not be returning or recommending this studio to anyone that wants to workout in fun, carefree and nonjudgmental place. read more
