WARNING about cancellation and billing at EōS Fitness…read more If you are thinking about joining this gym, please read this first. My experience trying to cancel my membership has been unbelievably frustrating and feels designed to make cancellation nearly impossible. When I attempted to cancel, I was told that I could not cancel unless I paid a renewal fee that had not even come due yet. In other words, I would have to pay a future renewal fee just to stop my membership. That made absolutely no sense. Because of this, I went into the gym in person to resolve the issue. I spoke directly with the General Manager, Chris Marriotti, explained the billing situation, and told him that I had been unable to cancel my membership properly. He told me that both my wife's membership and my membership were canceled and that everything was taken care of. Unfortunately, that was not true. Despite being told in person by the general manager that the memberships were canceled, the gym continues to charge the account and has now even added late fees. The memberships still appear to be active even though we were told everything had been handled. So now I am dealing with charges, late fees, and a membership that was supposed to already be canceled by management. This has been an extremely frustrating experience. When a customer goes in person, speaks to the general manager, and is told everything is resolved, that should be the end of it. Instead, it has turned into an ongoing billing issue. If you are considering joining this gym, I strongly recommend reading the contract very carefully and understanding exactly how their cancellation process works before signing anything.

My biggest complaint is cleanliness. The gym could do a much better job maintaining and sanitizing equipment for a gym open 24 hours. I would strongly recommend wiping down any machine before and after using it. I saw the same gum wrapper in the treadmill I use 4 days in a row. And this was recent. Cleanliness of equipment has been an issue since they opened. Overall, it's not a bad gym for the money, the staff is kind but if cleanliness and parking are important to you, there are definitely other options in the area.

Three appointments with my original trainer were missed, and after I raised the issue with management, I was reassigned to another trainer. Unfortunately, that appointment was also missed due to a scheduling/miscommunication issue. After four unsuccessful appointments, I decided that personal training was no longer a service I was comfortable paying for. I had been prepared to spend approximately $300 per month for coaching, and I simply did not receive the level of reliability I expected from a paid professional service. What concerned me further was the response when I attempted to address the pattern. Rather than seeing meaningful accountability for repeated missed appointments, I encountered explanations about different departments and why various individuals were not responsible. I also recently registered for a group stretching class where the instructor did not show up, leaving the class waiting. My concern is not one isolated missed appointment. It is the repeated pattern of scheduled services not being provided and the lack of effective accountability when those concerns are raised. I escalated my concerns in writing to operations management and requested assistance with resolving the personal training portion of my membership. I have not received a response. I still enjoy the EōS facility itself, which is why this experience is particularly disappointing. However, based on my experience, I cannot recommend the personal training program or the management response to service issues at this location. I hope EōS takes these concerns seriously and improves its scheduling, communication, accountability, and follow-through for members purchasing additional services.

Around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m., it becomes so crowded that getting a good workout can be difficult. Gym etiquette is also a major problem. Despite signs saying no gym bags on the workout floor, bags and personal belongings are constantly left around the equipment. You also have people setting up little tripods and recording themselves, which takes up even more room and gets a little crazy when the gym is already packed. The locker room is also much too small for the number of members. For around $9 a month, you can't expect perfection, but management should consider limiting memberships or expanding the facility. Sometimes it feels more like a social club than a serious gym. It's convenient and gets the job done, but I wouldn't recommend it if you want a focused workout--especially during peak hours.

But the staff are always friendly and wanting to help you in anyway they need to help you. The machines are always clean, the floor always looks great, the locker rooms are kept up nice and there's plenty of room to move about. I suggest this fitness connection location over the Arlington one. They also enforce wearing masks so bring your mask to not only protect others but also yourself.
