This morning I found out that a friend (Rodney) who normally works out with our group had his membership revoked for "training in the gym". This is the second person that I personally know who had this happen to them at the Coppell location. Shortly after I was referred to the gym by my friend Antoinette Diaz, she contacted me and told me the same thing happened to her. Neither of the two are trainers. Antoinette and a group of her coworkers started working out together at LA Fitness before work a while back and made it a daily thing to workout together and push each other. When Club4 opened, she fell in love with it and began reaching out to everyone she knew to tell them about the gym. Rodney is an Armed Forces member that actually invited me to work out with the group that we have now. Both had their memberships cancelled and were notified of this by email. We are all friendly and respectful to other gym members and if asked about certain exercises give other members tips on performing them. None of us are trainers and none of us get paid for anything fitness related. I try to stay out of anything up there that doesn't pertain to me but am extremely upset. There have been more than a few African American employees there that are no longer with the company that had expressed that the manager (Stephen Lively) was discriminating against them. A former employee named Kynnedy was told she could not wear shorts because it didn't look professional, but all of the other girls wore them daily. She was extremely embarrassed because she has a bigger frame than the smaller petite girls there and was actually crying at work. I did not know her at the time outside of her signing me up for my membership but have a daughter her age so that did not sit well with me. On a separate incident, she and another Black female employee were made to move the couches into the men's locker room while Mr Lively and the other male staff were up front talking. One of the other male members approached him regarding the issue at which time Mr Lively stated he did not order them to move the furniture but the girls said in our hearing, "yes you did". Shortly afterwards Kynnedy was written up for not having her name tag on. She finally just resigned because he stayed on her daily. Not long afterward the other female employee disappeared too. One other employee by the name of Gideon left and went to a different branch and soon afterward, a young man whose name was Paul if memory serves me correctly disappeared too. All of these employees were black and all expressed similar issues with Mr Lively. If you check the employment records over the past 9 months, you'll notice a trend with the Black employees' employment. I have had my membership at CLUB4 since May of last year. I speak to whomever is behind the counter when I enter and leave. Mr Lively has never once acknowledged me. He will look down, look away or start talking to an employee rather than even say hello. That is the level of management that is overseeing your Coppell, Tx location. I'm pretty sure you will be receiving more emails pertaining to this because more than a few of us are fed up with his behavior. It's frightening to think that one day I may not be able to scan in because my membership was deactivated because I work out with a group of guys and he "assumes" I'm training someone. Not sure if this is something that you will address but I sincerely hope that you do. BODY SHAMING and RACIAL PREJUDICE has no place in the gym. Thank you for your time concerning this matter. The gym is overcrowded with teens who will just play on their phone while sitting on a machine in their sandals. The worst part is if you cancel. You have to give 30 days notice, you can only cancel through written notice or calling them. They put you on hold for an hour. Then they send you an email. That email is a link to another website that you have to register to. Then you use that website to cancel. AND YOU HAVE TO PAY A CANCELLATION FEE! Are you joking?!? After years of being a member. This is consistently the filthiest gym I have been to. Doors, bathrooms, floors, etc... And what makes this place worse is that you can sign up for a new membership in 5 minutes at the club, but you CANNOT CANCEL the membership at the club (not reason for this) without going through a third party call center, who then sends you an email form (even though the website says you can cancel by phone in their FAQs) . Yes I and my wife started to go there and from the first day at the Coppell location and I always wore my sunglasses in the gym in all the gyms I have workout at with no complications. I been everytime I went for the last 2months no one ever told me not to wear them and plus I am diabetic and the bright lights interfere with my sight sometimes. So this little short frog face trainer tells me that I can't wear them in the gym. I seen here plenty of times there and I felt really uncomfortable with her and didn't know why and now I know why I believe she was targeting me from the start and probably cause of race so a warning don't go to this location if you are BLACK and halfway in good shape you will be targeted We are NEVER going back there would like a refund since we paid up for the whole year and only there a couple of months. read more

I beg you guys not to gym at this location especially if you are going to put your child in childcare they are understaffed and not properly trained to take care of children, On Aug 28th my son was attacked twice by another boy his age and then trampled over by a 6yr old boy and my son is only one and while this went on for about 47sec the daycare attendant was not observing this or other children and was putting things away cleaning to clock out of there and I understand accidents happen kids will be kids but why did it take all of these marks on my child he is traumatized!!! I watched the whole thing on camera thankfully I asked to see the cameras so please don't take your children to this horrible place. read more

Club4fitness in coppell very tough to engage with this company, once you sign up they won't make it easy to cancel the account. you will go on in circles from one phone number to another.. and no one listens some of the team members in coppell are very rude old management was easy to work with and would give support new folks are terrible. junior members sometimes try but they struggle too, local managers will appear busy by closed door meetings read more

I made a big mistake signing up the personal training . They play cheap business tactics here . While joining the training I mentioned multiple times , I need single trainer and can't accept change of trainers . They agreed and informed me my trainer won't change . But they changed trainer in very 2nd month . And they changed again . Third time it's worse , my trainer left and I could not get a new trainer for like a month . And they chained again 4th time . Guess what the 5th time , they changed again , and this time I had to wait 3 months for a trainer . At this time I said , am done I can't continue . And stopped going to zym . They gave to collections . And collections is behind me for money . And spoiling my credit score Guys , please don't sign up for a contract here . If you do ,no matter you like their service or not , if they do service or not , they are behind you for your money . They have setup strong teams to make sure you collect your money for the contract term . their down grade , upgrade, initiation fees, is all bull shit , they dont mention in contract but they charge. They have a clause for you that fees can change any time . Very cheap business tactics , very strong collection teams, you sign up , remember you will pay more than you thought , and you will have to pay even though you dont like your service I learnt a big lesson . michael is a front desk receptionist who acts like he works for the national guard the way he guards the scanner as if his life depends on it. I am a paying member but went to the gym with my friend, who is a member through active & fit. as many know, active & fit has recently made a change in their policy that only allows one gym membership. knowing this, my friend chose this gym as her home gym. for some reason, this did not reflect on her account when we scanned in this weekend. we asked michael what we can do and his response was "I don't know what to tell you. you'll have to check with active & fit. there's nothing I can do." because it was a sunday, there was no way to get in contact with active & fit to clear this up. we then asked michael if it would be possible for my friend to just work out for this one day and she can take care of her membership the next day. his response was "no ma'am, i will not allow that." i asked if there was anyone else we could speak to about the matter, and he said no since he was the "manager on duty" which seems false as his actions does not line with how a GOOD manager would take care of this situation, considering my friend IS a member and has been a member and this was out of her control. after some other snide remarks from michael about he isn't trying to be an a**hole and he tries to keep a fake smile on his face, we left and went to another club 4 location, in which they were helpful enough to explain what might've happened, and let my friend know the steps she could take in order to fix her membership status moving forward. they were also accommodating enough to let her workout for the day until she can take care of the situation unlike michael, the alleged manager at coppell read more

I joined this gym in October specifically because they offered live BodyPump fitness classes. I paid the second tier membership to get unlimited access to group fitness classes-at the time, there were many classes to attend. Over the last few months, they have slowly changed the schedule and turned the majority of their live fitness classes to recorded classes. I want to cancel my membership because of this bait and switch. I was told they could not cancel my membership at the gym; I have to call the "billing office" at an 800 number M-F. It's interesting that the gym manager was available to sign me up, but he was nowhere to be found when I wanted to cancel due to their dubious practices. read more

The stream room is broken and has been broken for a while , sauna isn't that hot only reaches I believe 135 degrees , (coppell ) overall good gym , just those 2 thing are a crucial part of why I got my membership that's something that I don't get to the full extent other than that it's been great . read more

The Steam room isn't working for last 4 months, you get different answers from different people like we ordered the parts they haven't come yet, the service company ordered the parts they haven't come yet, the owner hasn't approved the work order yet. So many excuses and explanations. The manager said his first priority is to fix this by Jan second week. Some people needs this more than other equipment. This not acceptable. read more

Pathetic fuckin gym. Tried canceling my membership which i haven't even used in months and it just so happens to be 2 weeks after my one year mark and there's an yearly fee. Love this gym! I am not a gym person and I am super excited I joined. Lots of amenities super clean and I actually enjoy going!
