This place really has gone downhill, my grandson and granddaughter go there to pick up our dinner order, which was all sealed up, they get home and the most expensive meal which was $20 was missing the 10 chicken wings, they sent the fries, I called their and spoke to 3 different people who didn't seem to understand the 10 wings were missing from the meal, after being put on hold several times, the conclusion was well you come pick them up or I give you credit, since they are not close I said give me credit I'll just eat my fries. I ordered food for take out for the the first time from this Cluck U and I must say, the food tasted like someone cared. Firstly, the customer service was very pleasant; as good as you would want it. I ordered the Honey dipped fried chicken (see my pics). Let me tell you! The chicken was nicely cooked, with a crunchy exterior and juicy when bitten into and generously dipped in honey with a taste of black pepper. I also tried their buffalo wings with traditional buffalo sauce. They were just right. They were saucey, juicy when bitten into and the best thing about the buffalo wings and fried chicken is that they didn't have that "twice cooked" taste or texture. I enjoyed the french fries too! They were hot, seasoned, and had a slight crunch on the outside of them...yum They didn't taste like they were from yesterday's batch of fries. Let me tell you about these cinnamon bites that I also ordered! They were these round fried dough bites that are shaken in cinnamon and sugar.They tasted like a zeppoli and a churro had a baby. At the end of a meal, coupling some warm cinnamon bites and vanilla ice cream was a rewarding way to finish my night. I didn't really care for the cole slaw ( run of the mill), the mac and cheese was bland and congeal like. The gravy to the mashed potatoes were season nicely but the mashed potatoes consistency was that of boxed mashed potatoes. The little cornbread muffins were good. I got the family pack, someone on the phone said it was the most amount of food for the least amount of money. It came with 4 sides, we got cole slaw, 2x mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes with gravy! The boneless sauce was traditional buffalo, so good! The boneless was spicy, but not too spicy and big! 8 o'clock on a summer night and you are down the shore scrolling to see what late night eats are in store for you and this little greasy gem pops up on Grubhub and instead of delivery you get up and make a date out of it. Yea, this place delivered and was such a guilty pleasure. I think going there was the key because the staff were awesome and set the tone. Reminded me of a bunch of young friends just running the local chicken spot and they were all down to earth. The fried chicken was typical corner store fried chicken but a lot more tasty and not TOO greasy. The Mac and cheese was so good reminded me of Cracker Barrel. This a relatively new place in Toms River, and trust me we desperately needed a solid fried chicken joint. Where to start... First, the good stuff. I am a Cluck U fan from way way back in my college days. We had a Cluck U near campus, and if you weren't in the mood for a Fat Sandwich from the Grease Trucks, Cluck U was usually the next suggestion. The food is great - various iterations of fried chicken, all kinds of nuggets, chicken strips, poppers, all with miscellaneous sauces, and a great selection of sides. Pure, unadulterated comfort food at its finest, and some of the best chicken you can hope to get your greasy fingers on. Yeah, its still pretty darn good, same as it was in college. Now, the not so good stuff. The staff here seems to be a bunch of the same college kids that somehow got magically transported forward in time 10 years. Goofing around behind the counter, not paying attention to customers, messing up orders, roaring around in the parking lot with the Cluck U signs on their cars... just generally unprofessional/annoying behavior. This is by far the worst facet of the new location. I understand that Cluck U may have been born near college campuses, but lets ditch the college behavior. God, I sound old. I like the location of the restaurant, and delivery options are always nice. The decor is very college-esque as well, with funny corporate Cluck U chicken-related imagery tacked up all over the place. It's entertaining to look at while you wait, and they have an arcade game cabinet there too, which is a nice touch. Guys, you have a great formula for success here. If you could just bring in a couple of competent managers and get the staff running like a well-oiled (professional) machine, this place could be something special. read more

I've never had Cluck U Chicken and over the years my dad has always talked about it, but we never really got around to it. But the time has finally come. My uncle ordered 10 garlic and cheese wings, my dad ordered 10 atomic BBQ wings, I ordered 10 mild BBQ wings, and lastly we ordered a pound of clicker spuds to share. All of our wings were traditional. We called for delivery, and the worker ended up going the wrong way. So he called to make sure where he was going. This was very kind of him because he could've just kept going the opposite way and the delivery would have taken longer. So he made the adjustment after the phone call and about 5 minutes later, the food was in our hands, hot and fresh. I wasn't ready to eat yet so for about 30-45 minutes I kept my food stored in the microwave. This was a very good idea because it gave time for the wings to cool down a bit and the fries did not become soggy surprisingly. All the food stayed warm and was eventually ready to serve. The mild BBQ wings were to die for! The chicken wing was big and just packed onto the bone with meat, the chicken was perfectly cooked, and an accurate amount of sauce, meaning there was not too much where it ends up all over my face and mouth. The breading on the chicken wing was incredible and the sauce soaked into it! The sauce was light, sweet, and such a delicious compliment for the chicken wing! This was great and all, but the best part was that I had two flats and the rest were drums! I absolutely love drums! They were huge! The flats were pretty big too but I prefer drums any day! My dad said the atomic BBQ wings were astonishing and my uncle said the garlic and cheese wings were so enjoyable! Took an hour and a half for a delivery said to be here in 50 minutes. Then he tells me when I call that I need to come outside to Meet him. I live in an apt complex on the third floor and every delivery person always comes up to deliver. You would think after screwing up this delivery they would accommodate. I go downstairs to pick up the food and he left it at the wrong end of my building. Doesn't even bother to check the numbers to see where I live. It had a nice roll, & the fixins were good enough, but, I was expecting a regular fried chicken breast. Fairly new spot not far from my girlfriend's place. Been trying to get here for a few weeks, but just haven't had the chance. We went a little later than normal, probably about 9pm. We got a few things to try out. I got a Cajun BBQ Tex Mex wrap. It was very tasty. The sauce was flavorful and it was in a whole wheat wrap with beans and brown rice. It was also a nice size. Grabbed some garlic Parmesan boneless wings too. They were pretty big, more like chicken strips, but really delicious. I was surprised how much of a kick the sauce had. I know it was further up on the scale, but I just didn't expect it from a garlic/parm. I also got a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. They were ok, the potatoes had a bit of skin still in there, kind of a surprise, but not awful just ok. Overall the food was really good.
