I was here last Monday with my sister. It's what you'd expect. I had the sausage and cheese omelette with cheddar, it was very good with a lot of cheese even if the eggs were a little overcooked. A mountain of home fries, and buttered rye toast. I enjoyed it thoroughly and of course couldn't finish the home fries. The coffee was OK. It was definitely that 50's diner look, the service was a little slow. Please seem to be filled with regulars. I went about two months ago. I've been there in the past. And I have had slightly mixed experiences. Breakfast is usually pretty good but nothing stands out. The cheesesteak is pretty damn good. I do not like grilled chicken. My partner got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was actually very good, but this last time we went for breakfast, our waitress, the taller blonde woman was awesome. The shorter waitress, though was talking to a patron very loudly both of them expressing very vulgar anti-LBQT rhetoric so everyone could hear I won't stand for that. On occasion, I stop in here for either breakfast or quick lunch/as early dinner; before going to do shopping at ShopRite. Waitresses are all very friendly, and since I am a frequent customer, they do know my name. (which is amazing given how many patronize this place) There's a counter to eat at if table not available. I am particularly fond of the Turkey dinner offered. The Pizza burger also good and Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich. On dinner offerings, I suggest small dinner rolls be offered rather than big hunks of bread or large rolls. One difficulty on two separate occasions with a new waitress; I can't read the numbers on bill she hands to me. (one time it just wasn't adding up correctly, and so she did 'change the bill total' (a bit less by a few cents) She might be in a hurry when scribbling the numbers... if that's the case then get someone else to write out the bill...CLEARLY so I can compare the numbers on bill to what menu price is. read more

Great little location, tucked away in a strip mall. Easy to miss but worth it. Everything is greasy. The walls, the booths, the food. And it's top tier delicious. Really cute 50s style diner. We sat right away and our server was attentive. The menus has all the usual diner choices and some specials like the Elvis, a waffle topped with peanut butter and banana. Food would get 5 stars. Hostess/Cashier and waitress zero stars, Hostess/cashier had received a call to ask if a party of seven could be accommodated. When they arrived, they were turned away as no effort was made in preparation for them. The hostess/cashier was "busy" talking to a patron at the counter seats. This person had put his coat on the back of a chair at a table for four. No one sat there for the entire 30 minutes we were there. Across the small aisle from this table was an empty booth for four. Why did the hostess not get these eight seats ready for a party of seven? Laziness is the only reason I can come up with, Waitress was just as bad, Our table had an empty ketchup bottle (and dirty). Put it on end of table. My drink was empty about halfway through the meal. It sat next to the empty ketchup bottle for the rest of the time there. She walked by at least six times, never asking if we needed service. She also spent time talking with the counter patron. A second waitress (tall, thin, blonde) gave her tables good service. Atmosphere: JB's Diner is located in a strip mall next to a ShopRite. From the outside of JB's 57 Diner, you would never guess how retro diner the inside was. When you step into JB's 57 Diner, it's like a blast from the past. There are license plates, vintage car photos, and everything you can imagine in a diner. Coffee: The coffee at JB's Diner was brewed hot and fresh and the waitress brought plenty of refills. I couldn't have asked for better coffee. Food: JB's 57 Diner menu has plenty of options from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have a page of specials including JBs Diner French toast waffle. The French toast waffle spoke to me so I decided to order it. It came topped with strawberries and blueberries. The French toast waffle, was French toast, put into a waffle maker. Truthfully, it just felt like a regular waffle. It was good and the berries tasted fresh. JB's Diner Dessert: I decided to order a chocolate milkshake at JB'S Diner and it was relatively boring. It was thinner and there was no whipped cream, or cherry. I thought that was standard with milkshakes but apparently not.  Service: Even though JBs Diner was packed, our waitress was attentive and friendly. Plus our food came out fast. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Overall Thoughts/Summary: I liked JBs Diner and I will definitely be back. It's a great stop if you're going down the shore or if you find yourself going that way. Both JB's Diner on 33 and JB's 57 Diner are great stops. Imagine going out to breakfast on a Sunday morning and your breakfast is served. You're enjoying it, but when you get to a side dish you ordered was off. I had my husband test it also to make sure It wasn't just me. When the waitress comes over I explain that there was no taste, "I never heard of that one" takes the dish to the owner and inside this small diner she makes sure the entire diner knows what the problem was and the staff is laughing and I have customers looking at us. I never asked the waitress to remove the $4 item off my bill; just letting her know it doesn't taste right. Needless the say I went to the owner and gave her $4 and basically thanked her for her professionalism and will never go back. Do what you want with this review; just giving my take on the place. I used to go to the JB's diner on 537 a lot, before it burnt down. We came to this location for lunch one day and I ordered a tuna melt. It was huge and I definitely could've gotten by with just eating half of it. They used regular American sliced cheese on the top though, and it left me with a rubbery taste in my mouth. So I felt a little sick afterwards. Our fries also didn't arrive until halfway through the meal and our server never returned to check up on us or get us more water. Went there for breakfast I had corned beef hash and eggs . My wife had mushroom omelet, the breakfast that we got was nothing less then clean,tasty and hot. The service was good but the building had a cool breeze blowing. I asked if the air was on and was told NEVER!. Lol made me wonder about the summer time. Nice little place tucked away in a commercial shopping center. Great to find the independent places with good food as opposed to chain restaurants. The only downside here is the cash only policy. Fortunately I had enough cash on me but often times I do not have more than a couple dollars cash. Had the mushroom swiss burger. Excellent burger, not greasy, not dry, just right. Their mushrooms have excellent flavor. As a bonus they toss in a couple of onion rings - these were very good. Hand cut, honest onion rings. Many times hand cut onion rings can fall short, IE mushy or soft breading. These were cooked perfectly, still a little firm & the breading was nice & crispy. Why is EVERYTHING an up charge; even if you want to substitute for something less . Not everyone likes French Fries , or is permitted to eat them due to dietary conditions. (We live mostly in 55 plus communities ) but when my mother asked for a slice of tomato with an omelette , she was charged 75cents . ON TOP IF A $10.75 omelette with NO potatoes or bread . so let's just break it down to make it clear 1- egg white omelette 2- 2 slices of tomato for 10.75. It's a joke. Offer a healthy side . Went to this shopping center with my mother and daughter and while I ran into Shop-Rite my senior citizen mom and 6 year old daughter sat with their masks at one of their tables to wait for me (it was early and they were all empty). My mom ordered a chocolate milk for my daughter so she wasn't just using the table. The waitress came out saying the owner said if she doesn't order food they can't sit there. Very rude of him! Our waitress, renetta smelled like an ashtray and her nails were filthy. Her teeth were yellow and her breath was horrid. I almost threw up everyone she came to my table. It seamed as though she had a bad day, or really hated her job, because she was kinda rude. She didn't promptly refill our drinks and every time I asked for something, she had an attitude about it. At least take a shower and brush your teeth before you come to work. If this is the professionalism they allow at the establishment, we are never coming back here again, and I suggest that you shouldn't either. It was like everything she touched needed a deep wash.
