    Poutine and le burger
    Mary T.

    These days, the recommendation is to arrive at the airport three hours in advance for a flight heading to the States. My flight was expected to depart at 2:40 pm and was delayed by half an hour. After clearing security, it was just before 1 pm and I needed lunch. I found a small food hall at Terminal 3. I looked at my options and found Cluny Grille. I walked up to the order area. No one was behind the counter. I looked at poutine and a couple of mini sliders next to me. They looked good. A woman came over. I wanted to place an order. She took down my order and went to look for the cook to make it. Both she and the man who ultimately made me lunch were nice and helpful. I got the following: - Le burger (you get two sliders, so I don't get the singular) - A bottle of Diet Pepsi I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was set. I got a number. I went to find a place to sit down and wait for my order number to be called. My Diet Pepsi was cold and hit the spot. I needed a drink and it was perfect. I started a trend. My placing an order prompted four other people to come over and place orders, too. Weird and cool! I heard my number. I went to the counter to pick up my food. I thanked the woman. I decided to grab packets of ketchup and mayo, along with napkins, and sat down to eat. The le burger comes with slender fries. The fries were yummy. I ended up dipping them in both the mayo and ketchup (completely out of character, but this entire trip was also completely different, so it was fitting). Delicious! The fries were light and crispy, without the grease. You get two sliders with fancy toothpicks to hold everything together. Each slider had beef, brie, mushrooms, and caramelized onions. I absolutely loved each slider. It had everything that I love. The beef was juicy and cooked perfectly. The brie was generous and paired nicely with the caramelized onions and mushrooms. So good! The mini bun was lightly toasted and was the perfect side to grab with at least one hand. The Diet Pepsi washed all my food down. Even with a tip, my meal with drink was well under $20. It was pretty good for dining at an airport. My food felt so fancy for fast food. I tend to have a go-to place to have a meal at any airport terminal. At Terminal 3, I'd return here for more good eats. (160)

    Food was very tasty - had the sliders with duck confit which were small in size but was a fantastic bite. French fries were fresh and crispy - so very good. Service is what you expect at a takeout airport - so no comparison to their distillery district location.

The ambience is definitely something to long after the music is wonderful and the service is extremely well. Done with the food is incredibly precise and the definition of beautiful. What's so amazing about this restaurant is that everything is so in sync the head chef seems to treat all of his kitchen staff with utmost respect and does not hesitate to teach them what they might not know he is the opposite of what we would think stereotypical harsh chef would be. The chef's wife is in charge of the dine in. She is a warm and bubbly character. That makes sure everything is up to the high expectation we all have once we go there for dinner. Once again, yes, the prices are a little bit elevated, but for a gourmet restaurant, it is absolutely worth it his magnificent little restaurant and everybody there is extremely kind and the food is nothing less than delicious.

The setting feels intimate and unpretentious, more like a traditional neighborhood French spot than a polished fine dining restaurant. We started with the cream of leek soup, which was surprisingly well balanced. It had a smooth, comforting texture without the sharpness you might expect from leeks. Paired with bread, it worked particularly well. The house salad was simple but fresh, with a nicely balanced dressing that made it a pleasant starter. The grilled veal liver may not be for everyone -- there's a slight natural intensity to it -- but with the shallot-based sauce, it became more approachable. The texture was firm rather than overly soft. The escargots were well executed and one of the more memorable dishes. Fresh, tender, and clean in presentation. Overall, a solid and honest meal. With wine, it came to around $80 per person, which felt reasonable for the experience. One thing to note -- reservations are still handled the traditional way by phone, and the restaurant keeps a fairly low online presence. A simple, quietly consistent spot that I would consider returning to.

The prix fixe is available as 2 course or 3 course, with a slightly lower cost for 3 course vegetarian. There is also a fairly extensive cocktail and wine menu. We went with 2, 2 course meals, sharing the appetizer and dessert. For the appetizer we had the "Feuilleté au Chèvre", a baked potato, leek and goats cheese pastry with a side garden salad. The salad was well dressed, with a great mustard based dressing. The tart was perfectly composed, great balance of pastry, vegetables and cheese. For the entrees, we had the "Magret de Canard" and "Coq au Vin". Both were excellent - perfectly cooked, and great accompaniments; but the red wine sauce with the chicken was the standout. For dessert we shared the "Clafoutis aux Poires", pears baked in thin layers of pastry with vanilla ice cream. It was freshly baked, and not too sweet - so a great end to the dinner. The overall service was great - well timed, not over bearing and friendly. This is a great place for the the special occasion or treat;

The atmosphere is quite warm and casual, and is ideal for date nights and special occasions. They offer a Prix Fixe menu and can choose between 2-course and 3-course meal. Service is amazing and our server is very kind to answer our MANY questions about the menu. He also gave us a few recommendations, which was greatly appreciated. Food is excellent! For appetizers, the mussels were HUGE and very fresh. For entrees, duck breast was our favorite - meat was very tender, perfectly cooked, and went well with the carrot puree. In addition, the sauce is very flavorful which really elevates the dish! Overall rating for our experience was a solid 4.5-star, and I ended up giving them a 4 (on the Yelp scale) probably related to the desserts. The desserts were awesome, but it lacks the "wow" factor I found from their appetizers and entrees. I'd definitely visit again, and I look forward to changing to a 5-star rating next time!

The schnitzel that I ordered (Wiener Schnitzel) was enough to feed 3 people. Mine was with the potato salad that you pay an extra $2 (worth it in my opinion) or you could get it with rice and fries. It also comes with a salad. We also ordered the Potato Dumplings (Halusky) which brought memories of my trip to Slovakia a while ago. We also ordered some Pillsners Urkell to wash down our food. The schnitzel is a bit on the salty side so the Halusky, potato salad and salad provides a nice balance. The food took a very long time to arrive so that's something to be aware of. I'm not sure if it was a one off or if it's a regular occurrence. The food was worth the wait though. My advice will be to come as soon as they are open. The decor needs improvement but you are not coming here for the ambience. The food prices might seems expensive but when you compare it with the amount of food that you get, it's really not. There's parking at the back and the restaurant it's a bit lax about their opening time which is 5pm. We arrived at 5pm but needed to knock so they could open for us. It's in the same block as Dairy Cream so it was convenient for us. We did not finish our food as we were saving room for the ice cream. It's worth a visit if you are fan of schnitzels!

Lovely ambiance, and for the holidays they had Christmas trees in both the front and back so very festive. (it also was not too dark inside which was great. I really like to see my food. As it happens, we all decide we were gonna have the steak frites which turned out to be a winning choice. The steak was flavorful and tender, and the fruits were nice and hot and crispy, which is just the way they should be. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We ended up having our water jug, replaced multiple times and the server stopping by periodically to see if we need anything else. Couldn't resist having something to finish.
