We had a large amount of carpet to remove and wanted hardwood in its place. In addition we were trying to come close to an existing wood installed 7 years ago. Steve was so patient, he took a sample of our existing floor and searched till he was able to provide us two choices. The price was outstanding for the amount of work involved. Luis and Carlos installed our flooring, these guys were so professional. The quality of work was amazing. We have no transition strips in our house (no trip hazards ). They were able to make perfect cuts from the wood to the existing tile in the bathrooms and around the fireplace. Everyday I came home from work they left the house clean and functional. They took care moving our furniture. Our walls have rounded corners so putting the base boards back looked ominous to me, but they were experts and put it back better than the builder in some areas. I've moved more than 24 times & this was easily the MOST frustrating thanks to Wheaton. The driver & loader arrived full of attitude about items that "should have" been broken down further, like tables, exercise equipment & bookcases. This info could have been conveyed to us BEFORE the move by the agent & not left to the last minute when everything was packed up, including our tools. Within minutes of meeting me & being at my home the driver made a gun with his hand & comments to the loader in front of me about killing my "stupid" (his word) pets. I later learned that he was allergic, but this begs the question, who would say something so AWFUL in front of a customer? And what kind of company sends this person as a representative into peoples homes when most homes in America have pets?? Wheaton had weeks ahead of time to figure out how to pack an especially large painting & it was still unpacked on moving day & had to be taken back to their warehouse. They ignored any marking of items as fragile & to "keep upright" as many boxes were delivered upside down and/or crushed. A white chair was not wrapped to keep clean & instead "protected" by greasy moving blankets & arrived with black smears on it. An actual hole was punched into the side of a desk. They slid an antique secretary across the floor & broke the leg. Their inventory system is a joke. They write down that they used certain sticker numbers but not what items those numbers pertain to. If you want one less headache, use someone OTHER THAN Wheaton & McGrath to help you move.

On the day of the move, just two hours before the scheduled time, Francisco called to inform me that the U-Haul truck they had reserved in Tracy had been canceled. I then had to search for trucks in other cities and found one available in Pleasanton at a similar price. However, he was not willing to go to Pleasanton to pick it up due to the extra distance and fuel cost. I even offered to cover the additional mileage cost, but he still refused and suggested that I go pick up the truck myself. I would not recommend this company for moving services. They do not have their own trucks and rely on third-party companies like U-Haul or Budget. If their reservation gets canceled, they are not willing to make alternative arrangements or pick up a truck from another location.
