    Fried Chicken
    Mychelle H.

A friend recommended this place to me because I was craving chicken but wanted the Popeyes type breading. Ordered the fried chicken with a wait time of 15 minutes. There is limited seating; only 3 tables. I will recommend this be your take out type of place, unless you come in during non-busy hours. I was lucky and was able to snag a seat. If you ask, they offer plastic gloves so you can eat with her hands without getting messy. Found the chicken had similar consistency as Popeyes breading which was what I wanted. It came out very hot and fresh. I thought it tasted pretty good without the guilt. The flavor wasn't super memorable but I remember enjoying it. Would probably come again in the future if I'm around town.

    Sketchy "Snow onion sauce"

First time trying this location via Door Dash. Do not order from this place. My snow onion chicken order was nothing like what I've had at other CM Chicken locations. I've had it many many times. The chicken itself looked and tasted different. It had a lighter color and the texture was off. The onions were sliced very thick. The snow onion sauce was brown and very watered down. Tasted nothing like what I've been accustomed to. Either they are not a real CM Chicken or they are cutting corners and not following the CM Chicken franchise. Read the other reviews, there are others that have noticed a difference from what they were expecting. I wish I checked before ordering.

This was my first time trying this location and they did not disappoint. The woman at the cashier was so lovely and patient with us. She provided all the information needed and did not give off a bad attitude. The atmosphere was comfortably secluded, enhancing the overall experience. I ordered the spicy whole chicken and it was amazing. The portion was surprisingly large given the reasonable price. The food was hot and the chicken remained crispy for hours. The sizes were huge and the sauce was coated everywhere. If it wasn't so far I would go there every week.

Wanted to like this place but unfortunately the garlic spicy did not taste like garlic spicy I've had at other CM Chicken locations. It had a strong onion or cinnamon taste for some reason. Maybe we got a bad batch of flavoring? Not sure but disappointed in the taste :( The old man greeting you at the door was a plus.

    Garlic Spicy Tenders and Coleslaw

We came on a Sunday afternoon, it was not too busy. The woman working was lovely. I ordered the garlic spicy tenders and coleslaw. Both are large portions, tenders came out hot and coleslaw was wonderfully cold. The garlic flavor was delicious and the spice (to me) was on the lower level of medium. The downside is the tenders were not crispy, but the chicken itself was melt in your mouth delicious. I didn't care about the crispness after the meat and flavor being so good. The coleslaw was creamy and hit the spot. The hubs got the spicy garlic wings and said they were meh. We are also not Korean chicken aficionados, but I truly enjoyed what I ordered!

I am a believer. Chong Man Chicken is good and better than Bonchon and Chi Mc Chicken & Beer, in my little opinion. My husband was telling me this for awhile but I didn't believe him until I tried it for myself. The garlic soy drumsticks were spicy, sweet, savory, and simply delicious. The chicken meat was moist and the skin was still crispy and light, even with takeout. We also got a side of the snow sauce and I'm not too crazy over it. I think the chicken tastes best alone. The snow sauce would be delicious over rice, or used as a marinade for other meats. Darn good chicken. I am now a fan.

Fried chicken & garlic soy tikkudak ftw .

This place is in the old El Fresco shop. Pickup process was good. Tried the garlic soy tikkuduk and basic fried chicken. Both are solid. Included mustard, ketchup, and small white cubes that I've yet to identify. Side note : are we the only ones that still like a ranch-type sauce? Bonchon stopped including ranch with the chicken a while back, and that was the best part. We were hoping for a ranch-ish dressing here. The coleslaw was a solid backup. The owner barked at a customer that the lunch special includes a can of coke, as he grabbed a bottle. Restaurant margins are slim.

    Drumsticks

I rarely leave reviews on Yelp only when it's super good or a place I'll never visit again. This is the first time ordering from this place - wings and drumsticks to go. Wings were ok (but not as good as other Korean fried chicken places in Centreville, Annandale), but drumsticks... :( undercooked and had unpleasant/funky order you wouldn't expect from wing places, went straight into the bin

I'm not a fan. The batter that they use is not the best. The sauce made the chicken so soggy. It was not crispy at all.

The format is a fast-casual food service. The space is very open and has plenty of seating. There is a kiosk at the front where you can browse the menu and enter in your order. When your order is ready, your order number will be called and you can get it at the counter. FOOD: ~Mul Nengmyun (3.5/5): flavor was just okay. Had a good amount of veggies and a hefty portion of noodles. ~Yukgaejang Kalguksu (4/5): Flavorful broth (nice and spicy) and the noodles had a great texture ~Spicy pork dolsot bibimbap (5/5): This dish hit the spot for me. It was piping hot and made the nice layer of crispy rice at the bottom. The pork was flavorful. ~Sides: loved all the sides from the veggies, fish cake, kimchi, and soup Thoroughly enjoyed majority of the food here and will likely return if I'm craving basic Korean food.

I do really like the online menu, where you can see big clear pictures of each dish. Inside the restaurant they do have small paper copies of the menu (without pictures) that you can use to choose your order before entering it on the kiosk. Taste of Korea is strictly self-service. You place your order on the electronic kiosk inside the front door. You also pick up your order from the counter and bus your table as well. Water is self-service too, which is good. I ordered the B5. Sizzling Stone Pot Bibimap. It was pretty good and I especially liked the banchan that came with it. But as I mentioned, the portion size was small (and the amount of beef skimpy), though you do have the option of adding extra ingredients for a price. Some pieces of the meat did have an off-flavor. There was a cup of broth (not miso) that came with the bibimap but it had no flavor. It was like drinking warm water. JP ordered the C6. Korean Style Pork Belly. The pork belly was very good and this dish also came with banchan and broth. We also ordered the Spicy Baby Octopus. It wasn't super spicy but it had a very delicious sauce. But probably more onion than octopus. We also ordered the Chicken Bulgogi, which was excellent. However, these two dishes only came with rice, and not banchan. I doubt we will come back because of the price vs. quantity ratio.

What feels like a hidden gem serves some of the best Korean cooking I've tasted. The bossam was incredibly aromatic and came with a massive portion of fresh kimchi that was cut tableside, making for a fun dining experience. Together, it was more than enough to satisfy two hungry diners. The banchan selection was equally impressive and paired beautifully with the meal. The restaurant itself is cozy, clean, and welcoming, while the service felt warm, genuine, and comforting, almost like dining in someone's home. My only suggestion would be to offer a more fermented kimchi option as a side dish. All of the kimchi we tried was very fresh, and I personally would have loved a tangier, more developed flavor. Overall, this is an easy 10 out of 10. I would absolutely recommend it and will definitely be back.

The menu was extensive, filled with lots of homey options that I don't usually see in other restaurants. After ordering, we were served six different banchans, all of which were incredibly homey -- light and not too savory. My favorites were the acorn jelly (which was mixed with salted seaweed and sesame seeds) and the white kimchi. Honestly, all six were really solid. AL TANG - 19.99 Super savory with lots of "sea sweetness" and umami, this stew was rich and piping hot upon arrival. I've never had al tang before, but have heard great things about it. Unfortunately, I didn't love the texture of fish roe (kind of reminded me of the texture of cooked chicken lungs). By the end of the stew, I thought it was too salty, so I didn't end up finishing it. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I probably won't get it again. My friend got the mackerel which he loved. I'll look forward to other items on the menu next time.

Galbi deopbap- it was mostly onion with slivers of meat that had a lot of fat. Meat weren't the usual La Galbi cut either- it looked like they were just leftover trimmings of short rib! Very mediocre taste also. I mean compare my photo to what's displayed on Uber Eats menu. KFC- biggest issue. Wings came naked WITH KETCHUP packets... they were bland and not even really that crispy! So I called the restaurant and then asked to please fix this, at least refund for the wings. They go on to say "well you should have chosen the sauce because some people want them naked." Well guess what, there's no option to "choose" sauce on Uber Eats. The lady confirms it and says they still can't refund but I can come to the restaurant to pick up a new order. I mean I'm not going to leave dinner table to pick up this order that THEY messed up and waste an hour. I asked if I can talk to her boss and she says she's not here. The lady agrees they messed up but still refused to fix it. Not sure what to say. I understand sometimes people have bad days and food quality may vary but it's pretty upsetting they straight up refuse to fix their issue. First time ordering here but very disappointed, not only because of the food but the because the way they handled the issue- clearly they don't care. Will not be ordering again.
