Ambiance with their music was up beat and energetic, even if no one was there when I was. Seems when I was there most business was takeout/pickup. As I am always in search of crunchy, juicy chicken, I was hopeful I found another place I would like to frequent. I wanted the plain chicken to first experience the true essence of their fried chicken. But the guy helping me convinced me the garlic soy chicken was the most popular. Since he confirmed it is just done by putting the sauce on the chicken, having the sauce on the side gave me both options---the basic and I can dip it in the sauce to experience this so popular garlic soy chicken. I, like others, took it to go. The chicken was good, but not the best for me since it had a bit of a spicy kick which I did not appreciate. The daikon and rice (had to order it separately for $2??) helped balance out the spiciness. So that is not ideal in my mind. Though not on the menu, their funnel fries with Nutella sauce was recommended for a special treat. I figured why not? I think it was the best part of what I got (no spice at all ). Very confusing, same plaza has two Korean fried chicken restaurants with very similar name. Anyways, I wanted to go to Chi Mc, ended up in this CM Chicken. It's more of a take out place. Cashier was nice and friendly. 25% off during happy hour. Need to wait around 20 mins for them to make all food fresh. Garlic Spicy chicken wings, not bad, sauce was on point with a kick, however the chicken crust was a little too thick and hard for me. Chicken was juicy inside. Truffle fries, skip it, not much to it Fried calamari with soy glaze, not good, too soggy and thick batter falling off because it's soaked in the soy glaze sauce. A friend recommended this place to me because I was craving chicken but wanted the Popeyes type breading. Ordered the fried chicken with a wait time of 15 minutes. There is limited seating; only 3 tables. I will recommend this be your take out type of place, unless you come in during non-busy hours. I was lucky and was able to snag a seat. If you ask, they offer plastic gloves so you can eat with her hands without getting messy. Found the chicken had similar consistency as Popeyes breading which was what I wanted. The chicken itself looked and tasted different. It had a lighter color and the texture was off. The onions were sliced very thick. The snow onion sauce was brown and very watered down. Tasted nothing like what I've been accustomed to. Either they are not a real CM Chicken or they are cutting corners and not following the CM Chicken franchise. I have had their wings, corn dogs, and fries. Their food is comparable to other Korean Wings places where they double fry the wings. I do like that they have different flavor options as compared to their competitors. I enjoy the Red Pepper Wings which is definitely spicy. She provided all the information needed and did not give off a bad attitude. The atmosphere was comfortably secluded, enhancing the overall experience. Both are large portions, tenders came out hot and coleslaw was wonderfully cold. The garlic flavor was delicious and the spice (to me) was on the lower level of medium. The downside is the tenders were not crispy, but the chicken itself was melt in your mouth delicious. I didn't care about the crispness after the meat and flavor being so good. My husband was telling me this for awhile but I didn't believe him until I tried it for myself. The garlic soy drumsticks were spicy, sweet, savory, and simply delicious. The chicken meat was moist and the skin was still crispy and light, even with takeout. We also got a side of the snow sauce and I'm not too crazy over it. I think the chicken tastes best alone. The tikkudak chicken was burnt, they tried to replace the curly fries with waffle fries without even telling us, so we had to drive back to complain and fight just to get a refund. Ok top of the poor quality, they've raised their prices by 20-30% but the quality doesn't even remotely reflect the price. I don't know why I've been so morbidly curious to try this location out, maybe it's because I come to chantilly a lot and because I'm confused by the mixed reviews. I had CM chicken once a couple years ago at the packed Fairfax location. I was planning to sit down in a dimly lit, half empty restaurant, but when I finally peeked in I saw there were only 2 tables so it was more of a takeout place. So I ordered the curry snow onion chicken tenders, the same thing I ordered a couple years ago. It took about 20 minutes and the service was friendly. I was worried about it getting soggy, based on reviews, so I ate in my car like a maniac. The chicken was super hot, fresh, and crispy. The sauces and onions were separate to maintain crispiness. The cardboard box the chicken was in also had a little window to allow it to vent/breathe. Not sure how effective it is long term. Anyway, everything was phenomenal!! Unfortunately it wasn't served on a platter, pre-assembled like at a sit down restaurant, but dipping it in the sauce and having it with the snow onions was so delicious. I haven't tried their other food, but I have a hard time picking something other than snow onion because it is so unique and I'm worried about having average chicken I can get elsewhere. Couple of years ago we had a great experience at this chain in Centreville, and staying in hotel near this location were looking forward to enjoy our take out food from here. Unfortunately our expectations didn't come true. We ordered the same dish we've enjoyed before (Snow Onion Chicken), but here for $17 we've received only 5 drums of chicken, 1/2lb of sliced raw onion and a container of white sauce with no taste at all, that I guess we (in stead of them) supposed to mix together.
