CM chicken brought "KFC" to U-district and my belly thanks them! Just looking at the photos makes my mouth drool all over again. The portions are huge, the flavors are bomb (soy garlic is always my favorite), and the apps are chef's kiss. I'm definitely bringing the girls here for our next dinner date! They cater to groups, but don't be shy...I order here for myself all the time! There's plenty of seating. Just bring your laptop, like I do. Service has always been pretty fast for me. The servers are super attentive and helpful. The only thing I'd change is to open for lunch! Sometimes a girl needs chicken at 11 am.

We've been here about 3 times, the food makes it worth it, the service and environment makes it eh. Overall glad this place opened since bonchon was closed. We've tried multiple flavors for the chicken, and all of them have been great! Hot Honey, Snow Onion, and Soy Garlic were great. You can skip the seasoning on the fries since the amount varies everytime. Drinks are canned. The restaurant itself is clean, but like many other restaurants on the ave, you get different service based on who you are. If you're not East Asian, other customers tend to stare at you. Service has also felt cold based on the server, and we noticed other parties, both larger and smaller, who arrived both before and significantly after us, receiving more attention and quicker service than us, even if they ordered more food. Overall the food is great so I'll push past that, but would be wonderful if all tables were treated equally.

The food taste great. I had the snow onion and the garlic spicy and was way over my expectation. They were crunchy, flavorful and most importantly a good balance of the temperature and the tenderness of the chicken The portion was large enough to feed 3 of us and I weigh over 200lbs and I couldnt finish the last piece. I would personally like to keep this place secret to not overcrowd the restaurant to keep it to myself but I would also like share the great food with everyone.

TL;DR Food was good but gave me horrible stomachache and cramps. Went here with some friends on a Sunday night. Ordered the sampler platter with 6 different flavors. We got mild garlic spice, curry, soy garlic, snow onion, cheese monster, and hot honey. Overall the food taste was 4/5. Flavorful wings with a good crunch. However, I could not sleep at night because the food gave me horrible stomachache with cramps... I thought maybe it was just a bad day for me but the next day I had some left overs again and again I could not sleep because of bad stomachaches and cramps. This lasted probably for 36 hours... This also happened to my other friends who tried it too. Sad to say I prob won't come back even though the chicken was so good...

I'm not saying this to hype this place up, but this is genuinely the best Korean fried chicken I've had in my life. It had the perfect crispiness, the perfect flavor profile, the perfect crunch. I'm literally mindblown by how good the food was. The tteokboki was also out of this world. I took one bite and said to my friend, "holy s*** this is the best tteokboki I've had". My Korean friends vouch for this place too so it's a must try spot!! The service was amazing as well. We literally said "next time we're back in udistrict, we can't go to any other restaurant because we have to go back to CM chicken again to try out the other flavors". That's how good this was

Potato skins and garlic rice were good too, though less garlic would have been better. Could easily make this into a garlic egg fried rice and larger portions. The staff were super attentive and took time to explain everything to first time visitors. Steady stream of take out orders as seating is limited. Would come back to try the other sides too. Happy to report no reaction for gluten free member of our family, top marks for safety.

Our order was waiting for us and the front staffer was nice and friendly. The restaurant is spacious with a homey, kitschy vibe and the front wall of windows were wide open. On a hot summer day, this would be a nice, airy place to eat in. We might eat there next time. 10 minutes later we were home and looking forward to digging into our chicken! We split a Large Bag o' Bites which were crispy, savory, and delicious breaded chicken breast pieces. We also got the three piece combo: two drumsticks and a thigh. We got everything non-spicy and found it all to be delicious, moist, and crispy. I am especially grateful that Cookie's makes their fried chicken WITHOUT DAIRY since I have a hard time digesting milk protein. Thank you, Cookie's for a filling and delicious dinner of fried chicken. We will be back!

I'll start with some positives: you can order directly on their website (as opposed to being forced to use some fee-heavy service like DoorDash), they're quick, and the Barn Burner sandwich was good. Now for the cons. Either they messed my order up or I was the fool here and screwed up when ordering online, but the four piece tendies I got were plain and utterly spice-less. Being a pepper head and spice fiend, this was a bummer, but it forced me to see that the chicken wasn't seasoned very well. Outright bland one might say. The chicken also had a kind of toughness to it. Not from being really dry or anything, but more from the raw cuts of meat not being trimmed correctly, like I was eating bits of tendon or something. Hey when I order tendies I thought that was cutesy-short for tenders not tendons! They weren't bad, but they were not very good either. The Barn Burner sandwich was decent though, and at a level three of spice, it had a nice heat. I'll give them another chance down the road, but ultimately, in a city that has so many great fried chicken options (Triangle Spirits, S/T Hooligans, and Sisters and Brothers), it's going to be hard to make the decision to choose them again after the meal I had.

The no pickles or lard were adhered to at least. Got a mild heat level and it was a little spicy. What we got did not look like my original photos. Smaller portion, but still filling. Pricey. We also got fries and the lil chickie sliders (no lard, no pickles) at a medium heat level and I guess my partner thought the sliders would be a little bigger than they were - similar to regular sandwich portion - they were small...maybe tiny tender size. I couldn't see em before she ate em. Overall no complaints. The fries size was good. A little seasoned. $36.32 for sliders, sandwich and fries + tax. Standard are for a meal for two, but it felt expensive being al la carte. We ordered online and they were timely in getting the food out for pick up. It's in a shared space with Rachel's Ginger Beer, so the pick up area is a little hidden, but it's out of the way from ordering from the main space. Kind of reminded me of pickles but I think a lot of people who don't like pickles might prefer this! Service was so nice, asked if I had been before and it was my first time so I received a 10% discount. That being said it is on the pricier side, a regular chicken sandwich is ~$16 and the sliders were ~$11. Aside from the sauce in the sandwich, other sauces are 99 cents each, not sure about the amount you receive. There weren't any combos, as far as I'm aware, so a side of fries is also extra. The restaurant is combined w a drinks spot, it's pretty cozy inside and the decorations were very nice.

This is a fairly casual spot and you order at counter and then find a seat and wait for the food to come. I ordered a seafood tofu soup as it was cool outside, the beginnings of fall and I had been traveling for awhile and I always like a nice hot warm soup on a cold day to warm everything up inside and out. I also had a Taiwan beer, which I dont see often, so gave it a go. It was a fairly large size, so I didn't finish all of it. It was odd that the woman working the register couldn't serve me the beer and other woman had to come serve it to me. I later asked the lady who couldn't serve me as to why and she said something about a law changing and she needed a license to serve me beer and she didn't have one. I didn't quite understand but ok, whatever. The banchan came first and I enjoyed most of them. The kimchi was a lot spicier than I like and also their small pajeon cubes were super spicy too. Everything else tasted great. My seafood tofu soup came out quickly and it was decent, probably not the best I have ever had but for a college town and for this place being very fast casual, it got the job done. The flavor was on point and I was warm by the end of finishing my soup. Overall, a good place for Korean tofu soup, Id come back.
