Delicious katsu sandwiches and popcorn chicken! My husband got this as takeout! Price is great and food is delicious! I got the katsu sandwich - fluffy bread, tasty sauce and a nice portion of katsu. We also got their Sakura Ume popcorn chicken special and it was so addicting and tasty! Would go back for more popcorn chicken! We also got their corn but it was just corn. Overall a great spot for food!

I took a $50 Uber specifically to try the famous Mango Sando. When I asked for one, the employee simply said, "No." There was no explanation. When I asked again, he just kept pointing to "what's in the system" instead of offering any context. Being sold out is one thing--being dismissive is another. While I was there, another customer with his family and three kids had a similar experience. He left disappointed after being charged for food that was never served and was unable to get a refund. Meanwhile, people were waiting around 60 minutes for food, and the place wasn't even that busy. The operation felt disorganized. Since the Mango Sando wasn't available, I ordered the Chicken Sando. After a long wait, the first bite was flavorful and promising, but I questioned whether the chicken was fully cooked through. At $10, it was also underwhelming in size--you'd still need to order two more items to feel satisfied. Ironically, Yan Tea next door (same owner) delivered a far better experience. The customer service was warm, the mango sticky rice was excellent, and the drinks were great. Even for Japanese-style chicken sandwiches, I'd choose Katsu Burger over this. What confuses me is that there were boxes upon boxes of mangos visible, yet no Mango Sandos available. If you're going viral on TikTok for a signature item, you should either be prepared for the demand or communicate availability clearly. I made a special trip for this place and left wishing I had gone to Katsu Burger from the start.

New joint near sumo and the old jack in the crack. They share a space w a boba spot and specialize in different katsu entrees + side dishes like popcorn chicken. Reasonably priced as a sandwich + fries ran me around $15. The sandwich itself wasn't enough to fill me up at all, but the actual chicken katsu was prepared well with juicy, tender chicken on the inside, paired w a crispy exterior. The sauce was a standard katsu sauce. The veggies and bread were meh. Overall, the sandwich was a 3/5 for me. Now the side of fries provided was crazy lol. Idk if that pic does it justice but they gave a ton fam. Now w that said, idk man. Idk if it's the oil they cooked it in or perhaps just a lack of seasoning, but I just wasn't feeling it. The texture of the fries was good, it's just the actual flavor that was slackin' 3/5 for those, too

Soooo good! College students don't know how good they have it with this fantastic restaurant so close. Thick perfectly fried expertly made pork katsu sando with cabbage was delicious. Popcorn chicken was crispy and tasty with generous portions. Cheerful setting. Reasonably priced for a hungry student!

So good! Definitely fresh. Downside was the long wait time/ I would 100% go again but I would not go if I was starving.

This is such a cool addition to the area! We got the chicken katsu: one with special sauce and one with the original sauce. We also ordered the unagi rice bowl. Both dishes looked so simple but they're so delicious! I liked the original sauce more than the special sauce. I am excited to come back here and try their other dishes!

Very solid spot. It shares a space with Yan Tea and ordering is done through a kiosk. Our food came out in about 10-15 minutes, which felt very reasonable. Prices here are extremely fair for the quality you're getting. The unadon was especially impressive for the price, with a generous portion of unagi for around $15. The popcorn chicken was another highlight, super tender and juicy with a perfectly crisp exterior. I also highly recommend trying the sakura plum flavor, which has a unique sweetness compared to the regular version. The katsu Sando was also well done, with a thick cut of pork that was still juicy inside. Overall, a great value spot that I can definitely see myself coming back to regularly.

Nom Nom Sando is a new spot on the farther side of the Ave for my local Seattlelites. There isn't designated parking so you will be fightingh for a spot for sure. You order at a kiosk in front and they make your food right then and there. There are a couple other businesses inside, a boba one where you can grab a drink. There's also some seating but it seems like more of a grab and go spot. I would definitely be back if I'm in the area. There were a lot of options that looked good to try. Staff: Excellent (5/5) Sanitation: Excellent (5/5) Chicken Katsu Sando (4/5) The Chicken Katsu Sando was pretty good in my opinion, definitely one of the better ones in the Seattle area. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the sauce was the typical tangy katsu sauce but they have an option for special sauce. I didn't get to try it but the description made it sound like a miso based sauce that was slightly on the sweeter side. I found the cabbage to be a nice addition without taking away from the chicken.

    "Kastu"

Great Japanese style sandwiches, but I can't help but notice that "katsu" is spelled "kastu" all over their signage. At first I thought it might be intentional, but then it is spelled "katsu" on their LCD screen slide show. Hoping they can get a free reprint for their posters!

I walked in and was greeted by a friendly face. I asked for their recommendation and so I got the chicken katsu sando with special sauce. What I can say about the sandwich is that I would get it again. It actually made me curious to want to try other items like their pop corn chicken and pork katsu sando. Anyways the sandwich. The chicken was juicy and tender. The bread had a nice toasted exterior to it. The sauce and the greens added a texture like crunch with a nice sweet acidity that cut through the heaviness of the sando. I think you'll be ina good place portion wise. I wasn't full but I do eat a lot. Recommend a side if you're hungry. Overall good experience on my end.

Bought a sando and popcorn chicken. it's extremely affordable here which I really appreciate since eating out can be so expensive these days. it's on the ave so better for students who are walking than someone driving up (no dedicated parking). staff is nice you just order on a screen and there's a decent amount of seating. the katsu sandwich is SO juicy. they did a good job here. it was steaming hot and fresh, took 10mins. I do think they're making each one individually as you order so it takes a bit of time even w not a lot of people the sign to the entrance/ door does NOT say "nom nom sando" so it's slightly hard to find and is a bit of mismatch.

I came here on a Monday afternoon for a to-go order. It's a food-court-style spot where you order at a kiosk and pick up your food when it's ready. The staff was very friendly, answered my questions, and prepared my sandos efficiently. The sandos were made with delicious sauce. I enjoyed both the chicken katsu sando and pork katsu sando. I paid for street parking nearby for 30 minutes, which was just about the right amount of time for my to-go order. Note: This location shares space with a bubble tea shop. Outside, you'll see signs for Honeybee Fried Chicken and Yantea, so it may not be immediately obvious that Nom Nom Sando is here.

New Japanese fried chicken place to try! I had their popcorn chicken and it was okay. I wasn't a fan of the seasoning. However, there's a decent amount of chicken they give and it was $5! I wasn't previously able to try their chicken katsu sandwich and I loved it. The ambiance was chill. Not too many seating available and they share the store with a boba shop. It is also self serve on the kiosk and unfortunately there's no other way to view the menu. The service was kind of good. The employee was nice and helpful whenever I had a question, however, the food took a long time to make.

Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end

However, today may have been an off day for the team and there were a few new faces. After a long day of work, I just wanted grab food and go home. I ordered takeout for my family's dinner tonight, and unfortunately, the portion sizes were inconsistent. The beef curry and chicken curry were only half-full containers, and the three large orders of rice were also barely half-full. Additionally, the spring rolls appeared fresh, but their quality was questionable. It may have been an off day, and certainly a couple of new staff. However, it was disappointing considering the usual quality of their food and price point. Before writing this review, I had already prepared the curries in a pan. Therefore, they are not pictured. My family noticed them before I reheated the dish, and subsequently, I reviewed the order and decided to share my thoughts.

Oh, and a vodka lemonade - you can get cocktails delivered via DoorDash! Everything was super good, especially the chili cheese dog. They were really generous with the chili (a full cup of it) and it was delicious. The lemonade is made from scratch and I really enjoyed that, as well - not too sweet. When we did takeout, we each got a sandwich, and we also got a Chicago dog, "chum bucket" w/ tots, and a handful of cocktails. I'd had kind of a bad week and was basically like, I don't even care, let's just get whatever we want even if it's an insane amount of stuff, haha. They do single serving craft cocktails for takeout in little cans, which is pretty cool. And they were SO GOOD (all with very clever nautical-themed names). I think our favorite was the "No Ship Sherlock" seasonal Moscow mule. The Chicago dog was amazing - based on this and my previous chili cheese dog, I can say without hesitation that their hotdogs are 100% 10/10. The "chum bucket" tots were also really good, and again came with a very generous full cup of chili. I hate to say it because everything else was so good, but the sandwiches were pretty disappointing for the price, we both thought. I had a tuna sandwich and my bf had a veggie sandwich. They used fresh, quality ingredients, but both sandwiches were kind of bland, and a lot smaller than we were expecting for $14 apiece. That's the only reason I dropped a star, but aside from that, they are 5 star all the way. So, we would not revisit the sandwiches, but hotdogs and cocktails HELL YES YES YES!! Anything involving the chili is also highly recommended. And although I didn't really go into detail about it, chicken tenders were good, too (there were more in there than what the photo shows) - crispy and well-seasoned, and more than what I was expecting.

Katsu is one of the finest fried items known to humankind, and even though eating fried food makes me feel like I've been punched in the stomach recently, I was willing to take a rocket to the gut for some stellar katsu and fries. Daruma has the set up of a no-frills establishment that knows they're going to be churning out orders. The kiosk order system isn't that common in the US because it seems ridiculously unfriendly, but Japan is about efficiency with a focus on the food. They only had two people working here so it was slow, but absolutely worth it. The spicy chicken katsu was incredible. Everything that was on this sandwich had a reason for being there. The cutlet itself was incredibly juicy and crispy. The right amount of sauce was applied so as to not make the sandwich itself soggy (critical on a sandwich with fried elements), and then the cabbage on top gives it a bit of freshness. I'm pretty sure the bread was fine, but that isn't why we're here. It's a vessel for fried food. The fries seem to need a bit of work. I think they may have gotten soggy because they came in a to-go box, but the seasoning was fantastic. They also come with whatever sauce you want, and there is a plethora to choose from. I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy mayo, which I then added to the katsu sando as well. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the Fremont area.
