Kbbq with pork belly, steak and brisket
    Sally N.

I have been here 2 times maybe. The vibe is pretty modern inside but pretty slow The meat is too mid for the price, pretty expensive. The kimchi tho I have to say, it's very sour, like way too fermented. I don't really like the grill because it's sticking my meat to it when grilling. The service is nice tho, staff is very helpful and checking on often. I don't think I will come back anytime soon!

Did not know about this place until my friend suggests getting dinner here. I'm a horrible person to eat kbbq with because I never eat enough haha but this place was delicious! My friends order the beef combo and it came with an assortment of ban chans, melty cheese for dipping, soup, steamed eggs, all the veg. Has the price of rice gone up? Cus why was that thing $3 hahaha they also ordered Korean fried chicken but I did not have any of that. The meat selection was good. They bought out a whole rib eye steak and I've never seen that at kbbq. There was veggies to grill but we did not grill any except mushrooms and even that I didn't eat. service was good for what it was. We sat in the corner so lighting was a tad dark but I didn't mind too much.

5 star for the freshness, service and location! Craving Korean BBQ at 8pm but don't want to drive to federal way or Lynnwood so we came to try Son of a Butcher. Now I wonder why I didn't make it to this place earlier! Food was fresh and tasty. Service was great! A bit pricey yes but it is in line with seattle prices. Can't beat what you get - satisfaction. Convenient location. What a gem!

This place was pretty good! It's not all you can eat so it can be pricey, but for special occasions is not bad. We got the beef and pork combo. Decent amount of side dishes. The japchae was really good and chewy. Ddukbokki was pretty good.

Made a reservation day of and was able to get a table on a Saturday night. Just flag down a worker when you need something and they are quick to help grab it. Beef combo + extra rib eye: a whopping total of $160 for about 5 people. Pretty pricey imo for what you get. Enjoyed the steamed egg, banchan, and sauces that were provided overall the best meat was the brisket.

Pros: great location in Eastlake, plenty of street parking, good vibe inside, friendly staff and meat quality is high as are all the banchan side dishes. Prices are awesome for the quality you get. Cons: light is a touch low so it's a little hard to ascertain how much you're cooking your meats. It's on the small side so call and make a resy. It's a leisurely Korean BBQ dinner, take your time and bring friends!

Yummy cheese corn - highly recommend

I should have trusted yelp - mediocre meat quality with minimal seasoning set in a nice clean environment. Service was minimal and sterile, but that's pretty much the new norm these days. Banchan was minimal and meh. White rice was extra!!!! Poor value and meat quality. Woobling beats it on meat quality and Hae Song and Exit 5 beat it on flavor.

SOB is a MUST try in Seattle if you love KBBQ! When you think of Seattle, you wouldn't associate it with KBBQ like Downtown LA but this spot has delicious food and hip music! We walked in about 8pm last Saturday and was asked if we had reservations. Interesting because I did call weeks ago to try to reserve for dinner and was told NO reservations for party of 2 so strange that the guy even asked! He told us to have a seat at the bar and will clean up a few tables for us. Within 5 mins, we were seated in a small table in the back of the restaurant. You would scan the QR code for the menu. We ordered the Beef Combo which is more than enough food for two people. We actually took food to go and had lunch the next day! The beef Combo consisted of: Ribeye, Brisket, Bulgogi, Steamed Egg, Cheese Fondue, Dwenjang Jjigae ($110). You can order a la carte as well with a plate of meat averaging $32 a dish, which more on the expensive side. It is good quality meats though so you get what you pay for! The Combo is more cost effective and you get more side dishes, veggies, salads, etc. The banchans come separately as well. So you have plenty to munch on while you wait for your meats to cook! The brisket was the winner of the night! So soft with just a hint of fat. All their meats are very lean. The veggies was a nice touch especially the asparagus which I have never seen before at Kbbq places. They also had mushrooms, tomatoes and onions you can grill. The steamed egg was also the bomb! Make sure you ask for bowls of rice to enjoy with your meats!

    Late night Korean bbq!

We came (around 9:25PM) because it was open late (until 11PM) and we were craving for KBBQ! Heard this place was authentic and good quality. We ordered the Volcano Steam Egg, Beef Intestine, Beef Tongue, and Pork Jowl. Overall the meat quality was really good. The intestines were cleaned well and it tasted like butter melting in your mouth. The environment was spacious and clean. Friendly staff but they didn't cook for us. Overall I thought the food was good but it was a bit more expensive compared to many other Korean restaurants (with soju, each of us two paid $80+ after taxes and tips), and I was hoping they could cook for us.

    Short rib, beef tougue

Marinated short rib and Japchae are good. Still open at late night! Beef tongue looks like not too fresh tho

This Kbbq restaurant came highly recommended by our friends. The exact words were "You need to call in for a reservation they can get very busy." Following that advice, I called in for a reservation for 4 on a Thursday. This restaurant is located in a small business strip on Eastlake. Parking, if any are available, is limited and we opted for street parking. Walking in the restaurant, we couldn't smell the ubiquitous charred barbeque scent that normally sticks to clothes. That 's a testament to how well the space was ventilated. Each table has it's own adjustable exhaust fan and an induction grill. One of the things I like about Son of A Butcher is their menu selection. The combo were a good value and made for an easy decision. I also appreciate that their alcohol is not limited to Soju or Sake. I ordered an Old Fashioned, dumplings, and opted for the beef and pork combo (which serves 4). The combo meal comes with the standard banchans, steamed egg, cheese fondue, salad, soup (we picked the dwenjang jjige), and a half sheet tray assortment of pork and beef cuts. The meat tray consisted of ribeye, brisket, pork belly, pork jowl, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, onion slice, and asparagus. We grilled the non-marinated meats first and ended with the brisket. The meats were high quality and had beautiful marbling. Service was fast, however not frequent. It was difficult to get water refills or order more items. Overall, I think this restaurant has reasonable pricing and quality cuts. The combos makes for easy selection and cocktail/spirits list is more than what I've encountered at other Kbbq spots.

I went on a weekday evening and was able to walk in without a reservation and the host sat my party immediately. The space has an industrial vibe, minimal decorations and an open kitchen in the dining area with another kitchen hidden in the back. We started off with a gochujang margarita which had a little spice but the flavor of the gochujang got lost and I couldn't really distinguish it. The NY Tiki Time cocktail was a stunner, the flavors of the citrus, pandan and rum blended smoothly together. I had to take a photo when the drinks arrived. For the apps we ordered the yellowtail and octopus. The presentation really was remarkable and well plated. The yellowtail was in between layer of thinly cut turnip that had a lemon verbena component to it. It was shaped into a flower and placed on a plate in naengmyeon broth. The octopus was tender and in a delicious cream sauce with some roe as decoration. For the mains we got the squid fried rice with kimchi, bacon, smoked quail egg. We also ordered the branzino gui with seasonal vegetables. Both were well seasoned and tasty but I think I enjoyed our drinks and appetizers the most. The staff were slow and intentional with their service and no one seemed in a frantic hurry. The tone of the place was calm and none of our servers gave off an overly pretentious attitude (my biggest gripe with fine dining). Will most definitely come back as soon as possible and can't recommend enough.

The yellowtail dish was lemony and the thiny sliced turnip was an art itself . My friend really liked the squid ink fried rice. The rice was made very well but personally I always find squid ink rice to be bland and a bit uninteresting, so the kimchi in the fried rice added some contrast. The restaurant was pretty empty on a weekend night. Service was ok. I love the glass and high ceiling.

Service was super friendly and quick. My friend and I shared the pork sliders, brussel sprouts, beef cheek ragu rice cakes, wagyu ssam, and the ginger crème brulee. Everything was so surprisingly yummy. Pork sliders were juicy, flavorful, nice fluffy bun. Good proportion of bun to filling. Brussel sprouts at first were your average well made sprouts, but when we reached the bottom of the dish where the sweet potato puree was, it changed the entire flavor profile of the dish! So good. Maybe better served in a wider bowl so we could appreciate the puree sooner haha Beef cheek ragu was super good too. Flavorful rich sauce and I loved that the rice cakes were extra thick and charred on the outside. Made for the perfect texture: lightly crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Wagyu ssam was great too. Not as standout as the other dishes, but solid steak pieces that were perfectly tender. I think my favorite has to be the ginger crème brûlée. The ginger flavor is light, and the hardened sugar on top tastes like crystallized ginger candy when chewed. The doenjang caramel drizzle balances it out as well. Overall, a fantastic meal. It's definitely on the pricier side, and all the dishes could use a bit less salt, but I will definitely be thinking about that crème brûlée for a long time

I think that is the point of this dish, so if you want a more traditional spicy flavor then get the other ttoekbokki option (spicy rice cakes). We still loved this one and the rice cakes were so chewy and delicious. The cheese corn was very yummy and exactly what you would expect. It pairs perfectly with the other dishes. My friends also shared the Seafood ramen and Beef bulgogi. They liked both dishes. One of our favorite things were the side dishes actually! The tofu was so yummy, and the bean sprouts were so crunchy and well seasoned. We even asked for extra! The only aspect that makes it difficult to come more often is the price point.
