Crispy Fried Chicken w/ Sauce Half

Shaken fries are amazing- beer towers r so worth, chicken is a little too sweet and saucy compared to the chicken itself. Nice and spacey - can seat large groups! Quick service, employees are always nice

Went back here tonight... Service was excellent. Great place to watch the world cup on Sunday night. Wings were good... sauce was meh. .

I love this place. The chicken was great. And super loved the corn cheese. The service though is so so maybe because the server was only one and was pretty spread thin. I asked for gloves so i can wear chicken by hand and get that it was available. They didn't have anymore soda dispensers just offered canned soda. The location is ok though definitely need to steer park.

We are regular diners at Pelicana in Cali and unfortunately this location totally missed the mark. Service was unacceptable and ruined our meal. We were seated quickly but it went downhill from there. We ordered from the kiosk and the food came out fine, but I asked for 3 cups of ice and we were brought only one. Then I had to chase someone down to order steamed rice and she said they ran out and it would take an hour to make. It was her facial expression and tone that bothered me the most, as if I was inconveniencing her. I then asked if we could get extra radishes and she kind of just rolled her eyes. Although the KFC was tasty, I lost my appetite and just wanted to get out of there.

Had dinner here last night & the highlight or our feast is their shaken french fries!!!! Their cheese flavored chix is a little bit subtle, then the garlic one is just okay. We also ordered their gizzard which is flavorful. Service is quick & there is enough space for everyone.

A great fried chicken too but this time we came here for the lunch special (which might not exist anymore at the time of writing this review?). Super good deal. - whole meal for $10 and there's a couple good options too. I got a chicken teriyaki which isn't exactly traditional but look how much they gave me. We also got a cheese ball just because it's so good.

great spot for drinks and Korean fried chicken In Capitol Hill, usually not too hard to get a table as it's a big spot. They added tablets to all the table for ordering, my only complaint was it was that the menu on the tablets weren't so fulfilled I wish it had more pictures or descriptions -- the cocktails we ordered only had their name but no pictures or descriptions or ingredients of the drinks so it was hard to pick.

The chicken is on the drier side, especially the breast pieces. The fry of the juicier pieces was very nice though. Smoky hot flavor was creamy and interesting too, never had anything like it. The original is fried without breading, worked well with the radish. We also noticed the server was eating behind the curtain, didn't feel very sanitary.

One of my favorite Korean fried chicken spots ever! The breading is so perfectly crispy and light and the meat is so juicy it falls off the bone. Fries were also great, and cheese balls were enjoyable but mochi texture. Loud bar vibes on a Saturday night.

Cool place to get some Korean fried chicken and drinks. The place is located in a popular area of town with lots of foot traffic. We ordered the garlic and regular chicken to share as well as some drinks. They have an electronic pad that you can order food from as well as call your server to get you anything else you may need. The service is pretty prompt.

When I think of Korean fried chicken or fried chicken in general, I think of good quality, crispy chicken. Unfortunately, my visit here left a lot to be desired, which is such a bummer, especially when Wingstop is going to be opening up the street pretty soon and Dave's Hot Chicken is also nearby - Pelicana better step up it's game if it plans to stay relevant with these other chicken spots so close! I like that you can order your items on the kiosk at your table, and can continue to add items throughout your meal - you can also ask for water refills and the check when you're done. It does take half the work out of the waitstaff since they're only delivering items to you without ever checking on how things are going. We ordered the cheese balls, a ban/ban (half and half) chicken, which is served half original and half sauced (we chose hot spicy). We also got an order of radish. The cheese balls were warm, gooey with a lightly crisp outside, and served with honey mustard?? I thought the honey mustard was a weird pairing so I ate the cheese balls as they were, which were good. The chicken was served with a fairly large space between the two servings - I assume because they didn't want the saucy pieces to touch the plain pieces, but it did make for an odd appearance. The sauce was surprisingly, actually spicy, which seems silly to say but I have a pretty high spice tolerance and have never been to a Korean fried chicken spot that had actually spicy chicken. I hate to admit it but it was a little unpleasant. I think what added to the unpleasantness was the fact that the chicken itself was very dry and seemed like it was cooked hours before. It definitely gave off twice-reheated leftovers vibes and a lot of the pieces had more bone than meat, so I think we ended up leaving a bigger pile than what actually made it into our stomachs. Overall, not great. But I would be willing to give it another try, maybe during a busier time when I know food *should* be fairly freshly made.

Original Original Fried Wings with hot spicy Sauce

Had the original wings with hot spicy sauce. Wings were nice and big, and hot spicy sauce was really good. Had a bit of sweetness with a good kick. I took these wings to go so i think the outside became a little soggy, i definitely need to try again in house

    Ban ban chicken

This was an incredibly disappointing experience. The chicken was burnt to the point where I had to peel off the outside just to eat the meat inside. It tasted bitter and ruined the meal. I drove almost an hour specifically to come here, so it is deeply frustrating to receive such poor quality food. I wouldn't even give it one star if I had the option. Worst experience ever.

The clams and mussels with Lao sausage were hands down my favorite dish - so savory, unique, and packed with flavor. I know it would be something my mom would have loved to try! The collard greens with neck bone meat were another standout. Every bite was unforgettable. The wait here is no joke, so I highly recommend making a reservation. I think we waited an hour and half to get seats for two, but worth it! We were fortunate enough to be seated after closing, and despite the long wait, the staff remained incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Their hospitality made the experience even more special. So shoutout to the staff! The only dish that didn't wow me was the trout - it was a little mild and could've used a squeeze of lemon to brighten the flavors. But honestly, everything else was some of the best food I've had in a long time! And I am a real foodie. If you appreciate cultural fusion, Communion is an absolute must visit in Seattle!

There were people waiting outside when we got there and only a few tables were seated. They seemed to space out the seatings to give the kitchen time to prepare food for the tables. We had high hopes as we love Southern food. We ordered the Sweet Potatoes Hoe Cakes, Mac N' Cheese, Classic Greens, UNC's Wings, Pork Chops, and the Grilled Berbere Steak. The Hoe Cakes were the best 4/5 but tasted like buttery cornbread, good, but nothing special. The Mac N' Cheese was 3.5/5 and were tasty and very cheesy. The classic greens were tasty but came in a small ramekin 3/5. The UNC's wings were okay, tasty and crunchy, but we've had better wings at dozens of restaurants 3/5. The pork chops were decent but dry 2.5/5. The steak was a bit fatty, gristly and bland 2.5/5. A three rating being average. Service was attentive but nobody bothered asking how the food was or we would have openly told them. For the price, there are much better options elsewhere. Don't waste your time, money or stomach on Communion.

Unfortunately, tonight's experience was extremely disappointing, specifically because of the service we received from Darlene. We tried the shrimp yakisoba in addition to our wings and mozzarella sticks and unfortunately did not like the flavor of the yakisoba. The frustrating part is that Darlene only asked us one time if everything was okay--and she didn't even come to our table. She asked while checking the thermostat, and at that point we had only eaten our wings and some mozzarella sticks. We had not even tried the yakisoba yet. We waited approximately 15 minutes for her to come back and check on us, but she never did. I eventually went to the counter to get a box. Since she never came back to our table, we also went to the counter to pay, which is different from our previous visits where we were checked out at the table. We explained to Darlene that we didn't enjoy the yakisoba because of the flavor. Instead of simply acknowledging the feedback, she responded rudely that we needed to tell her when she checked on us so it could have been fixed. That was frustrating because she never checked on us after we actually tried the food. How were we supposed to tell her we didn't like something when we hadn't even tried it yet? Then, when I went to tap my phone to pay, Darlene said, "But you're not paying for it, so it doesn't matter." I told her she was being rude, and rather than de-escalating the situation, she began arguing with me and made it seem like we were somehow at fault for not saying anything during the first time she asked. We asked to speak with a manager, and Darlene told us that she was the manager. We weren't upset simply because we didn't like a dish. We understand that not every menu item is going to be everyone's taste. What we expected was basic customer service and an opportunity to actually communicate our concerns. Instead, we were blamed for not reporting an issue that we literally hadn't discovered yet, followed by a rude response when we attempted to explain it. The wings are still excellent, and we've had good experiences here before, which is why tonight was particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, Darlene's handling of the situation left a much worse impression than the food itself.

Some of the best wings in Seattle. I had a snack size (5pc) of the original (naked) wings. Juicy and perfectly fried. I think the best way to judge any wing is how good they are without any sauce. I'll try some more flavors later. Good banh mi. The bread was excellent. However, the "grilled pork" option was puzzling. Tasted good, but was more like a char siu than a traditional lemongrass grilled pork. There wasn't any char-grilled flavor. It was still good though. Nice crisp crust of the bread without being too sturdy, if you know what I mean. Lots of other stuff on the menu I want to try. I didn't go for any of their house-made drinks. But I'll at least try a lemonade next time. Very pleasant and ample seating. A few outdoor picnic style tables and some nice tables inside with big windows. It's a nice space. My only gripe is the usual one. Seattle prices. The wings plus banh mi and a soda came to $30.50 with tax and tip. (I did have leftovers for later, so I did get a meal and a half out of it). The tipping options START at 20% on their point-of-sale (POS) tablet. There's probably a custom option, but I didn't bother since I normally tip 20% anyway. But it's a little pushy to start your tipping options at what is usually the upper limit for most people. This place is solid. I'm sure it's a godsend for tenants in the nearby apartments. And being centrally located, it's really not hard to get to. Next time your going to or from the eastside via I-90 bridge...go a few extra blocks north and get your grub on here.
