    Ban ban chicken

This was an incredibly disappointing experience. The chicken was burnt to the point where I had to peel off the outside just to eat the meat inside. It tasted bitter and ruined the meal. I drove almost an hour specifically to come here, so it is deeply frustrating to receive such poor quality food. I wouldn't even give it one star if I had the option. Worst experience ever.

Original Original Fried Wings with hot spicy Sauce

Had the original wings with hot spicy sauce. Wings were nice and big, and hot spicy sauce was really good. Had a bit of sweetness with a good kick. I took these wings to go so i think the outside became a little soggy, i definitely need to try again in house

We are regular diners at Pelicana in Cali and unfortunately this location totally missed the mark. Service was unacceptable and ruined our meal. We were seated quickly but it went downhill from there. We ordered from the kiosk and the food came out fine, but I asked for 3 cups of ice and we were brought only one. Then I had to chase someone down to order steamed rice and she said they ran out and it would take an hour to make. It was her facial expression and tone that bothered me the most, as if I was inconveniencing her. I then asked if we could get extra radishes and she kind of just rolled her eyes. Although the KFC was tasty, I lost my appetite and just wanted to get out of there.

Had dinner here last night & the highlight or our feast is their shaken french fries!!!! Their cheese flavored chix is a little bit subtle, then the garlic one is just okay. We also ordered their gizzard which is flavorful. Service is quick & there is enough space for everyone.

A great fried chicken too but this time we came here for the lunch special (which might not exist anymore at the time of writing this review?). Super good deal. - whole meal for $10 and there's a couple good options too. I got a chicken teriyaki which isn't exactly traditional but look how much they gave me. We also got a cheese ball just because it's so good.

great spot for drinks and Korean fried chicken In Capitol Hill, usually not too hard to get a table as it's a big spot. They added tablets to all the table for ordering, my only complaint was it was that the menu on the tablets weren't so fulfilled I wish it had more pictures or descriptions -- the cocktails we ordered only had their name but no pictures or descriptions or ingredients of the drinks so it was hard to pick.

The chicken is on the drier side, especially the breast pieces. The fry of the juicier pieces was very nice though. Smoky hot flavor was creamy and interesting too, never had anything like it. The original is fried without breading, worked well with the radish. We also noticed the server was eating behind the curtain, didn't feel very sanitary.

One of my favorite Korean fried chicken spots ever! The breading is so perfectly crispy and light and the meat is so juicy it falls off the bone. Fries were also great, and cheese balls were enjoyable but mochi texture. Loud bar vibes on a Saturday night.

Cool place to get some Korean fried chicken and drinks. The place is located in a popular area of town with lots of foot traffic. We ordered the garlic and regular chicken to share as well as some drinks. They have an electronic pad that you can order food from as well as call your server to get you anything else you may need. The service is pretty prompt.

When I think of Korean fried chicken or fried chicken in general, I think of good quality, crispy chicken. Unfortunately, my visit here left a lot to be desired, which is such a bummer, especially when Wingstop is going to be opening up the street pretty soon and Dave's Hot Chicken is also nearby - Pelicana better step up it's game if it plans to stay relevant with these other chicken spots so close! I like that you can order your items on the kiosk at your table, and can continue to add items throughout your meal - you can also ask for water refills and the check when you're done. It does take half the work out of the waitstaff since they're only delivering items to you without ever checking on how things are going. We ordered the cheese balls, a ban/ban (half and half) chicken, which is served half original and half sauced (we chose hot spicy). We also got an order of radish. The cheese balls were warm, gooey with a lightly crisp outside, and served with honey mustard?? I thought the honey mustard was a weird pairing so I ate the cheese balls as they were, which were good. The chicken was served with a fairly large space between the two servings - I assume because they didn't want the saucy pieces to touch the plain pieces, but it did make for an odd appearance. The sauce was surprisingly, actually spicy, which seems silly to say but I have a pretty high spice tolerance and have never been to a Korean fried chicken spot that had actually spicy chicken. I hate to admit it but it was a little unpleasant. I think what added to the unpleasantness was the fact that the chicken itself was very dry and seemed like it was cooked hours before. It definitely gave off twice-reheated leftovers vibes and a lot of the pieces had more bone than meat, so I think we ended up leaving a bigger pile than what actually made it into our stomachs. Overall, not great. But I would be willing to give it another try, maybe during a busier time when I know food *should* be fairly freshly made.

I have not dined here but my friends have brought it over to my place two different times now. Also, please note that I have had Pelicana since 1989. They are one of the OG Korean Fried Chicken chains. I remember when TV commercials would come on and I asked my mom to order one for me for delivery. It cost around 4 dollars back then for the whole chicken. Good old days. I am a huge fan of Korean Fried Chicken that tastes like Pelicana. Why? Because they are THE OG. This is the golden standard of Korean Fried Chicken. No, they are not supposed to be extra super crispy. No, they are not supposed to be spicier. No, they are not supposed to be sweeter. This is how it should taste and Pelicana somehow preserved the sauce over 30+ years. Very close to my memories from childhood. With that said, I will note that the chicken did feel a bit dry today, compared to 2 or 3 years ago. No real complaints though. Definitely recommended. I do need to make it out there to enjoy the dining experience as well. Looks like they open until 2am!

Got the chicken gangjeong via doordash and she was crispy, perfectly sweet and salty but im pretty sure she hates rice cakes which is part of her. I will always come back to pelicana for a good korean fried chicken fix but literally having one and a half piece of a rice cake about the size of my fingernail was definitely a lowlight of my experience.

Came across this place by accident while seeing a show at the Erickson Theater across the street. All the Korean fried chicken looked very good, and the staff was awesome. Seemed like mostly Korean patrons and they were enjoying it. Seemed like a good place to watch sports also. Very cozy interior on a rainy night.

We ended up at the bar and honestly it worked out perfectly. Our bartender was friendly, engaging and just made us feel right at home. Another staff member came through at some point and was equally as kind. The service all around was great. Now let me talk about the food because that cabbage had no business being that good. I know that sounds random but it was my favorite thing and I did not see that coming. The mac and cheese was delicious, the fried chicken was really good, and my husband was all about the rice and black eyed peas (surprisingly). I also ordered a non alcoholic drink and even though I cannot remember the name it was really good too. The only minor thing was that one of the items, I think it was the hush puppies or cornbread, came out a little lukewarm. They mentioned it can be hard to keep that particular item hot, and flavor wise it was YUM so it was not a dealbreaker. Everything else comes out fresh as it's cooked so just know timing can vary by dish. It did get crowded toward the end and they politely let us know people were waiting outside. They handled it with so much grace it did not feel uncomfortable at all. I will definitely be back. Already curious about what will be on the menu next time.

We didn't have a reservation, but after about a 10-minute wait, we were lucky enough to snag two seats at the bar. From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt warm, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable. The seating seems intentionally designed to bring people together, and you could see it in the mix of large groups, couples, and even solo diners. Like the name, it had a "communal" energy that made the space feel alive and intimate. The hostess, bartenders, and our waitress were all phenomenal. They were attentive and easy to talk to. Also, the playlist was good. It really added to the overall experience. We started with the sweet potato hoe cakes, and they were absolutely amazing. I loved the texture. They were soft, pillowy, and balanced. They weren't too sweet, even with the honey butter. I wish I'd ordered more to go because I haven't stopped thinking about them. I'll have to try recreating them at home. For my entree, I ordered the stuffed trout, and this is where things really took off. It's a whole fried trout stuffed with a seafood dressing (shrimp, catfish and oysters), and it immediately caught my eye on the menu. I'm not used to eating whole fish, and I don't think I'd even had trout before, but this dish was mouthwateringly good. The fish was crispy, hot, and perfectly seasoned. The béarnaise sauce really set it off. There were so many layers of flavor and texture, and everything just worked together perfectly. On top of that, the presentation was stunning. I posted it on my Instagram story and immediately had people asking where my food was as from. This meal was very memorable. I have zero notes. The ambiance, food, music, and service were all top-tier. Side note: There is a 5% "communal" surcharge added to every bill. The money is used to support staff benefits, the support staff, and the line cooks. This is separate from the gratuity. This surcharge is clearly explained on the menu, and I really love and appreciate the transparency and that they care about the employees. But yeah. Super good. We love a good meal and we damn near left there skipping.

This is not a review I ever expected to write…read more For a long time, I genuinely enjoyed Vindicktive. I brought friends, family members, colleagues, employees, and business associates here on a regular basis--sometimes multiple times per week. The food, especially the wings, is excellent and one of the main reasons we kept coming back. Unfortunately, the customer service experience became impossible to ignore. What started as an occasional issue eventually became a consistent pattern of feeling unappreciated as customers. The more we supported the business, the more it seemed that basic hospitality, professionalism, and conflict resolution were lacking. Instead of feeling welcomed, many of us began leaving with the impression that our presence was tolerated rather than valued. What is most disappointing is that this isn't based on a single bad interaction. It is the accumulation of experiences over time, involving multiple visits and multiple people from my circle who reached the same conclusion independently. I believe every business has difficult days. Every employee can have an off moment. What separates great businesses from average ones is how they respond when concerns are raised. In my experience, there appears to be very little interest in understanding customer concerns or resolving issues in a way that leaves people feeling respected. As a Seattle business owner myself, I understand how difficult it is to operate in today's economy. That is precisely why customer relationships matter so much. Every customer chooses where to spend their hard-earned money, and every business has a responsibility to make people feel welcomed, appreciated, and respected. The unfortunate reality is that Vindicktive currently feels less like a professionally managed business and more like an environment where personal dynamics often overshadow customer experience. Whether intentional or not, that perception has caused many people in my circle to stop visiting altogether. I take no pleasure in leaving this review. In fact, I delayed writing it for quite some time because I hoped things would improve. The food remains very good, and I genuinely wanted to continue supporting this establishment. My hope is that ownership reads this, not as an attack, but as an opportunity. Great food can bring people through the door, but great service is what keeps them coming back. Until meaningful changes are made, I can no longer recommend Vindicktive to friends, family, colleagues, clients, fellow downtown residents or visitors from abroad visiting for the 2026 World Cup or any other occasion that our great city host in the foreseeable future. 1 Star Review I am an Official Elite Yelper.
