I read great reviews about you online, so I sorted my recycling and headed on over this afternoon. It is a Tuesday and the Web site shows you close at 5 pm. I pulled into the driveway at 4:05 pm just as a man shut the gate on me. I ended up having to take my items down the street which was not an enjoyable experience. Why is it that you would close your business an hour early? It's especially annoying because you have huge signs outside saying "Now Open!" I hope that this is not something you do on a consistent basis. If you do truly close at 4 pm, please update your website so people don't waste their time! read more

Parking is tough. You might stand inline to get inside. There're two cashiers, who are very helpful and nice. It was my first time in place like this and I am not really fond of it. They except cans, glass beer bottles and plastic water bottles. You can sort your stuff right on the spot. Overall, the place is ok. read more

I felt like we were ripped off and it was chaos. As they are sorting they are calling some items 'contaminated" but then when trying to discuss why they said don't worry about it. Yeah that translates to you don't get any value back and they don't hand it back to you either. Try to talk to the young lady about it and you get a blank stare and this is what it is. This kind of nonsense cost us roughly 70 dollars and they have lower prices of anyone else......and you have to go back days later to get paid. My husband has been scrapping metal for over 28 years and never had such a miserable experience. I am not sure how you do business like this. read more

This place is horrid worst recycling center I've been to. I call and get told steel is .7 cents per pound get down there with over a ton in steel and get told they would only pay .4 cents per pound. That's ridiculous. One employee started to say .6 cents per pound then another came over and said no steel is only .4 cents. What crooks. Everywhere else in town pays .6 or .7 cents a pound. On top of it the yard is so dirty and unmaintained I got 2 screws in my tires. I will never go back. The only thing I can say about this place that is nice is the lady at the front cashier was polite. Other than that I'd never recommend going to this place. read more

Delivered about 750 feet of copper wire from my irrigation well. First, they told me that I had to remove it from the spool. No problem. As I began to remove it, they told me that I cannot remove it on their property. They tell me that they can "guess" what the spool weighs and subtract it from the total weight. I can see the game they are playing now. I think to myself, this is a standard commercial wood spool that I am sure they see every single day. How can they possibly not know what the approximate weight of the spool is. They take the copper, still on the spool, and return five minutes before closing to give me my ticket showing the weight at only 400 pounds. I had at least 800 pounds and the spool did not weight more than 80 pounds, therefore, I should have been paid for approximately 700 pounds of copper. They paid me $200 for 700 pounds of copper wire. I called ahead and asked about wrought iron, they told me they are paying .04 cents a pound. After delivering 3000 pounds and unloading it completely by myself, they chose to pay only .03 cents per pound. Because they were closing, there was no person to talk to and dispute. The payment from them was even a bigger joke. They pay you a little up front ($20) and then ask you to return in three days. Three days later, they give you a CHECK. Really professional. I won't be back. I feel like they took advantage of the situation. They forget that they will make a few extra bucks for their business, but they only have ONE reputation. That reputation could shorten the length of time they remain in business. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Next time, I will go early and get everything in writing prior. read more

Overall good, there is competition on same street paying more. Also during week and on saturday the traffic is horrible coming into your place from 78, suggest open few hours on sunday or extended hours once a week like Tuesday etc.. read more

This is the only place that we take our aluminum and plastic to. They pay more than any of the other places in North San Diego county. The people there are actually friendly too. We have tried the other places and CMS is the best one for price and quick service. read more

I come here twice a year with collected plastic water bottles and aluminum cans from home use. There isn't much parking...4 SPACES which can be inconvenient if you arrive when all spots are full. Waiting isn't very safe since the driveway abuts busy Mission Blvd. However, plastic containers and carts are very conveniently located when you park. Also, all staff from recyclers to office staff are helpful and efficient. I didn't give five stars due to small unloading area. With such a small parking/unloading area, I recommend the company list busy times online and in the office to assist customers with planning their visit. read more

I have be going to CMS for over a year now. They have a nice system to unload your recyclables - plenty of plastic containers and trolleys. The employees are so friendly and helpful. And it looks like they are explanding. I really appreciate the great customer service. read more

Great place to recycle. I brought a bunch of aluminum frames and the gave me cash on the spot. I wish i got more money for them. Oh well.

These guys are great. They have always been fair with me and explained things such as what is considered clean as opposed to dirty brass quite clearly. I have seen a couple of reviews saying they don't pay as high as some other places but that has never been my experience but in all honesty for the type of service I receive with these folks I would take a penny or two less a pound rather than being treated badly at another place. I mean come on people the second time I went there I was greeted by name, how many recycling places do that? By the way they recently added a truck scale which has been fantastic, in and out slicker than snot on a brass door knob. I have used alot of recycle centers and this one is the best ever. I had used the one down the street for the past few years, but after being turned away AFTER I filled up 3 bins I went 2 blocks over to CMS and they greeted me, helped me with my barrels, and told me about their coupons to get more money back. The cashier was nice and smiling like she enjoyed her job and was happy that I was there (and I get this every time I go in) and even got a lollypop with my money. like Amy R., I went there at 4:25 to pick up the money from a delivery that was made earlier that day. When i arrived there was a guy at the gate that told me go away, they were closed anyhow i drove in and he gave me crap all the way to the teller and when i went to my truck. that person also threatened to fork lift my truck out of the compound. so having this experience i would warn anyone that wants to do business with the company to show up early and don't even try to go there even an hour before closing because they are dicks an hour before closing. read more
