Needed to get rid of a lot of clutter I had accumulated so I decided to rent a dumpster (like the ones you see at apartment complexes). Quanita at EDCO was AMAZING. She answered all my questions (I said I needed to think about what was the best service/company to fit my needs), and kept me informed by email about booking, delivery and pick up. I rented it for a week for $310 but it was so hot that week I only worked in the morning going through boxes and throwing all the things I now didn't need, so I decided to rent for another week - it was only an extra $5/day! I ended up extending another 2 days (it was a holiday weekend) because there was still space in the dumpster to get rid of clutter in my attic and a broken chair! The dumpster has a plastic lid but I used 3 bicycle locks roped together to keep the lid secure in case someone else in my neighborhood decided to use it! I had it parked in my driveway which had a slight slope but the guy who deliver it found some cut off wood in my garage to secure it from rolling away and secured it by putting them under the four wheels at angles. My room is now clutter free and it was great dealing with EDCO and their staff! If you want to get rid of clutter I highly recommend hiring a dumpster from EDCO. read more

Their trucks are NOISY, get Quieter Trucks ! Where I live, they are constantly coming down the street and then backing up. Why can't they just figure out how they can get there without that insane backing up beeping noise? I was narrowly run down by a EDCO Trash Truck, even though I have 2 super bright tail lights on my bike. Customer Service asks did I get the truck number? How the H*** am I going to get the truck number, when its traveling 50 mph!! Then he says, "I can't help you". Excuse me, but don't they have a route? I saw it pull into the school. This is a very poorly managed company. I have been waiting 2 months for trash carts to start delivery. Two (2) months and I am a new account--a sale--not even a service issue. I am calling another carrier tomorrow. I must have 10 calls in to them, 7 or 8 emails, and about once every two weeks they say they are "on it". But they never do their job. We moved into EDCO's service area in July and they had been picking up our trash every Friday at the foot of our driveway without issue . . . until they stopped suddenly, without explanation, several weeks ago. Apparently, we need to take our cans .5 miles down the road for pickup, even though a truck passes our driveway to pick up the garbage from our 3 neighbors right at their driveways. We tried to pay extra to upgrade our service, and EDCO won't let us. Now we have to make multiple .5 mile trips because we have 3 trash cans and can't make it in one trip. Very frustrating. No communication. Unreasonable service requirements. No willingness to help under the circumstances. We have a backlog of garbage and no easy way to deal with it. read more

Their recycling center off Las Posas is only open Sundays (?!?!?) and has rude a unknowledgeable staff, no longer takes used lawn mower equipment no longer takes Goodwill and NEVER takes used oil (leaves it to Vista and autopart stores). I've had service with Edco for decades and they've been on autopay. Recently I was sent a new credit card with a new expiration date and I forgot to call Edco to give them my new card. My autopay was be declined by Edco, so rather than calling me for an updated form of payment they instead turned it over to a collection agency and reported the late payment to Transworld Systems and destroyed my credit. Oviously they've decided that we're not worthy of a phone call and that they don't need to lower themselves to the level of the the peasants in which they serve. The service when it comes to removing trash is fine however I would say that Customer Service should probably consider a form of retraining when talking to their customers. My experience is I called about a past due notification on our account. The lady (out of respect, not mentioning her name) in customer service consistently interrupted me when I was trying to explain the situation. Apparently they never got payment from the company I work for and I was trying to explain what I was going to do. I was really biting my tongue trying to stay professional because we went from a payment that they hadn't been received in January, to previous payments received in prior months from September (how the heck did we get to the month of September 2021 when we're talking about a payment that wasn't received in January of 2022?). My suggestion would be to "LISTEN" to the customer "FIRST",...... "THEN" talk about a possible solution. Not..... "Hello I had a question about our statement and a past due amount. I want to let..." "(Interrupting) It's past due because we hadn't received payment." (As I was going to say "payment was sent on 1/10/22"). I really like Edco and the service I have received from them over the years. However, they pick up our garbage first thing Monday morning and this past Monday the first truck came at 6:38 AM. Truck number two and number three followed shortly there after. These are large trucks and make a lot of noise. They woke up my children and my husband. In the past, they used to wait to at least 7 AM to start collection in our neighborhood. I called them to complain and their answer was that the city allows them to start garbage collection at 6 AM. This does not seem reasonable to me because other trades have to wait until 8 AM. They basically said too bad! So much for customer service and caring about their customers! read more

Needed to get a really big dumpster for a yard cleanup project. They recommended a 22x8x8 monster dumpster which was a great suggestion. We filled it up! They were great throughout. When they arrived to drop it off, I wasn't there but a car was blocking the curb where we wanted it. They called me and driver was really nice and patient while I got the car moved. I'm appalled at their lack of accountability. Debris fell out of one of their trucks. I had no choice but to run it over. Edco is trying to deny my claim as in their camera view you can't see the debris falling out of their truck (camera viewing angle not wide enough). But you can see me run over the debris on camera. They decided a tarp was good enough to cover the back of their compactor truck to keep the over flowing debris in. It didn't. I have pictures of the truck to identify it, but Edco still refuses to pay to fix my car. Looks like I'll be taking them to small claims court. read more

EDCO is the worst trash service I have ever seen in my life. I will be discontinuing them very soon. Over and over they refuse to take my trash. Ok there may be a brick in there but I don't have stuff overflowing, I try to manage the weight etc. And I don't generate very much trash so very often I don't put anything out. Of course there is no refund for that, ok, but when I take my containers a quarter of a mile down the street and they don't pick it up and I have to drag it all the way back home and again they still charge, I am just sick of it. It happens many many times. This is what everyone needs to do. Be very careful about buying things, we are murdering the planet with excessive consumption. Cut back on packaging, compost, and recycle. Recycling can be done for free. And don't forget there are recycling places that will take all your metal scrap. Give up eating meat and then all of your food waste can go in the compost. Grow your own food using the compost when you can. Reuse everything and give things away. After having WM for 4 years, I can't say enough good things about Edco. Been a business customer for over 5 years with weekly dumpster service. I've noticed the quality of their employees and their level of customer service has dropped over the years. They keep moving my pickup times later and later. I have to move my dumpster to the end of the driveway and originally they picked up by 8am, now it isn't until noon. I had one single item that wouldn't fit in my almost full dumpster and I asked if they could add it to the collection -- "we're going to have to charge you".
