Pretty cool location and atmosphere to celebrate cinco de Mayo, and probably to get your fill of mexican food and drinks! And let me tell you, the drinks are GOOD! I had two mararitas on the rocks, and they were strong and tasty, and I LOVED the special rim they had, the habanero pepper/salt one (the one Scott was showing), it was fantastic, i would love to sprinkle it on everything! Scott was also giving away some tasty mexican style treats, and i got to try the pineapple spicy one on the way back and it was great! I will look around for his stuff next time i go to Spec's! Music was good, and I got to try some quesadilla and that was tasty! Thanks to Kendall for organizing and everyone at Los Vaqueros in the stockyards for hosting, this was a really fun evening as usual with Kendall's events and with the awesome Yelp Fort Worth crowd!

What an incredible way to spend Cinco de Mayo but with wonderful Quesadillas, stuffed jalapeno peppers and MARGARITAS! My wife and I love Los Vaqueros and tonight was truly a special evening. Kendall ROCKS. Even with all the chaos, the staff stayed cool, calm and collected. The food was wonderful and the margaritas were awesome. It was definitely the PERFECT way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

Their chile con queso. It was... Not good. And expensive

Thank you Kendall for this event! Kendall did try and the event sounded promising. But I think the Pura Vida people never showed. The bar was good and tried to stay on top of the drinks. The margaritas were good. Not very strong though. It took me almost 3 drinks to get the buzz. Most Mexican restaurant, it'll take me only 1 drink to get buzzed. The free appetizers were lacking and running out constantly. So were the plates for any chips and dips or quesadillas. The one quesadilla I was able to snag was pretty good. But we were constantly waiting for more that did not come. So my table decided we wanted to order food. At first they said that was okay and took some of our orders. 10 mins later there was a cut off and they now said orders only if you have a table at the dining room. So we said fine we will take a table - there was a 45 min wait. It became longer than 45 mins and by the time we got a table, half of our group left. Someone at our table got fajitas for two. It was a tiny portion even for one person. And they only brought out 3 tortillas for the two people. They had to request for more tortillas twice because apparently, the restaurant is stingy with the tortilla. My queso was very watered down and bland. Not very cheesy. No one at my table even wanted to try it. It was pretty unappetizing. So disappointing when the queso is not even good. And it was expensive too. $9 for the queso. It took a while for our food to come out. So when I flagged a waiter down and asked if our food was coming so I can cancel my order and go home. He pointed around and said very rudely, "ya! It's been very busy!" And walked off. Everyone at our table was astonished at how rude he was. And we did look around and the cafe was half full. So if they consider this as busy- they are not ready for a full restaurant or an event of any sort! I definitely wanted to drive down the street to order real Mexican food to go.

My second Yelp event and I really enjoyed meeting many new people. Plus this was my first celebration of Cinco de Mayo in all the years I have been in Texas. Bonus, I got to enjoy it at Los Vaqueros with a room full of potential new Friends! The snacks they served were really good, but there was not enough to satisfy all of us hungry vultures. Yes the margaritas were amazing and the chili salt, lime rim was definitely a stand apart from the traditional rim. I have been to this restaurant several times before I knew what Yelp was, so i knew I would enjoy the food. The management was friendly and as helpful as could be. The one bartender did an awesome job of keeping the margaritas poured and serving food to those of us who were lucky to order from the bar before they asked us to get a table if we wanted meals. This is why they lost a star. Took way to long to get a table and the waiter at the table was not as attentive as the bartender, or as fast. After we sat we had three people at alternating times tell us they will get some chips but chips had a hard time coming to the table. One guy told us, sorry as you can see we are really busy. As Linn and I looked around at empty tables we did not see busy. Plus the restaurant ran out of rice. Rice! Isn't that a staple in a Mexican restaurant? But the food was good and Santiago makes the best mango margarita I have had in a while! Thank you Kendall for working so had to put this party together for us. Definitely will be back to eat here again.

CMYE at Los Vaqueros on Cinco de Mayo is a win!. I am not in the stock yards much so this was a pleasant excuse to get out here. Also I have never been to Los Vaqueros so this was a double win. They had a band playing when I arrived and they were good and not too loud which let us socialize and catch up. The margaritas were great and strong enough that I felt a little buzz. My favorite appitizer was the jalapeno peppers stuffed with cheese and meat. I knew ahead of time that if I wanted a full meal it was avaible for purchase but the bites were good enough for me. I had a great time catching up with fellow yelpers since I had not made an event in a while. I love getting out on Cinco de Mayo so I loved the event.

    Amazing margarita!

What a wonderful event! Lauren S. is correct, you could go to these events to just have your picture taken with Kendall in a sombrero and that would make it all worth it! Our vendor Scott from Halo Del Santo provided some outstanding Chili Margarita salt for all of our drinks, and it was amazing! The Sweet and Spicy Lollipops were so good, I had to buy two bags to go! The event had a small variety of snack food that went very quickly, however if you were lucky enough to get a piece, you wouldn't have been disappointed. The Bar Manager, Fidel, was an absolute ROCKSTAR with the lack of waiter service in the event area. After being told I would have to go to another part of the restaurant to get food service, my stomach took it upon itself to order food from Fidel. It wasn't long before the Yelp orders started to flow while Fidel took orders at the bar and ran the food out to the yelpers as fast as his legs could carry him! He didn't skip a beat, he was pouring margaritas, salting glasses, and delivering fajitas, all at the same time! He provided an above and beyond quality of service not seen often these days. This was extremely fortunate because we would not have been able to experience the greatness Los Vaqueros had to offer otherwise. The food at Los Vaqueros is probably the best Mexican food I've had as far back as my memory will take me! I'm talking about, this is the kind of place you take out of town guests you wish to impress. The salsa has an outstanding flavor, the food comes out hot and fresh, and boy oh boy, their margaritas are spot on the money! My wife had the chili relleno while I went with the flautas! No longer will people go to Joe Ts when visiting the stockyards! No longer will they settle for On the Boarder! No longer will we stand by and let Taco Bell call themselves a breakfast location! Los Vaqueros shall Reign!

It was served buffet style, so we were treated to an array of delicious dishes. The buffet included a variety of salads, hot entrees, side dishes, zesty toppings, AND dessert. We were even encouraged to get seconds! Yes, please & thank you :-) At first bite, it was obvious that all of their food {later confirmed by the manager} is made in-house from scratch. The flavor of each dish was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Everyone at my table raved over each item, even the hummus -- I need their recipe for that hummus. Lazy Dog has a beautiful exterior and interior, but maintains laid back casual flair. The photos of various dogs (mutts & non-mutts) lining the walls are adorable. There is also a patio with live music --- perfect when the weather finally cools. The host, hostess, and staff welcomed us warmly. We were also served our choice of craft beer or wine. My hubby & I are definitely going back for dinner, happy hour, and brunch. Their Sat/Sun brunch menu sounds like some debauchery that I need to take part in.

This Tupelo Honey is in a stand-a-lone building that is part of a larger complex restaurants and shops. There is a huge parking lot associated with it and should that space fill up, there is plenty of additional parking in the adjacent shared lots. Once inside, the placed is spacious with tons of seating; both booth seating and table/chairs. Bar seating is also available at the relatively large bar which is fully stocked. As for the event, it was awesome!!! I appreciate that there was a mix of Elite Yelpers along with Yelpers who aspire to reach Elite status. We were seated together in one section across several booths (booth seating on one side, chairs on the other) which provided us with opportunities to easily interact with other Yelpers. For an added treat, each seat setup contained a pre-poured Uncle Nearest whiskey flight. More on that, later. We were treated to a 3-course, Whiskey In A Teacup Tasting Dinner and it did not disappoint. For dinner we chose our starter, main entree plus a mini-dessert selection. For a starter, I went with the house side salad, the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (entrée), and the Heavenly Banana Pudding (dessert). As someone who tends to maintain a relatively health-conscious diet, this dinner made for a nice 'reward meal'. Thankfully, Tupelo Honey did not let me down as everything was DELICIOUS!!!! Everything was tasty and filling!!! The house side salad was super fresh and the perfect size. The bone-in fried chicken was flavorful all the way through with some great seasoning and the banana pudding was as described...heavenly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and had zero regrets with the choices I made. As for the Uncle Nearest whiskey flight, we sampled the 1884, 1856 and the Rye which were all tasty. To add to the fun of the whiskey flight, we were given empty shot glasses plus droppers that we could use to create our own whiskey blends from the three that were included in the flight. In addition to the whiskey flight, we received a the Big Texas Tea which is a speciality drink/tea containing Uncle Nearest 1856 and it was served in a tea cup that were we allowed to take home at the end. The Tupelo Honey staff were amazing!!! They were super friendly plus they went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. Overall, this was an awesome event!! I am a fan of Tupelo Honey and look forward to future visits. Again, thank you to Semhar her Yelp team for putting this together. Thank you to Mike, and the entire Tupelo Honey team for hosting us.

I loved the tea party theme, and the beautiful calligraphy name cards, not to mention the in-person calligrapher etching our names on Yelp shot glasses! That was such an awesome surprise! I love mine! The table decorations, with fresh flowers we could take home, and table runners gave this event such an elegant touch. Even the customized menus with a sprig of fresh lavender was perfection! Now, let's talk about the food and the service. The service from the Team at Tupelo Honey were so great and welcoming. They were very knowledgeable and accommodating. I loved their recommendations. I loved the variety of options for us to choose from for our 3-course meal. I chose the Caesar salad, the chicken and waffles, and mud pie. I've bene a big fan of the Tupelo Honey's chicken and waffles for years, and the variety we had on Wednesday was a bit spicier than their usual flavor. Still very good and filling. The star of the show for me on the food front was the mud pie. It was really good and was the perfect small portion size for a nice after-dinner treat that you could indulge without it being too much or too little. Of course you can't go wrong with a bourbon tasting event, and even more so when the bourbon of the evening is Uncle Nearest!!! Their bourbons are so good and having the experience of mixing and matching with the water droplets made for a fun experience rather than just taking sips and shots. My bourbon blend tasted like motor oil so I either did it horribly wrong or incredibly right, depending on how you look at it. This was a great experience and cheers to the anniversary of Yelp Elite! *clink clink* Thanks Semhar! You did an awesome job! Thanks Tupelo Honey! Thanks Uncle Nearest (my favorite uncle lol; don't tell my actual uncles I said that)! And as always, thanks Yelp! You never cease to amaze me on why being Elite is such a treat! Cheers!
