I live in Columbus and haven't had the options like CO has. We shared a green papaya salad, and it was delicious! I would eat an entire bowl by myself. Don't forget to tear up the basil - it completes the flavor! We got the Lotus, Lemon, Firecracker, Sesame and Pork Belly sushi rolls. That is the order I would rank the rolls in flavor. It is a shame if anyone uses shoyu (sou sauce) or even wasabi when eating these rolls. The vibe here is very chic and sophisticated. It is located in a very well known and popular shopping center, nestled next to some trendy and bougie stores. My son and I were greeted by our server soon upon arriving to our table. We came to dinner around 8pm on a Monday night, so the dining room wasn't very busy. Our server was polite and took our order at our pace with no issues. We like to stagger our orders when we go out to eat. That way, we're enjoying every plate we share that comes out without a rush. We ordered the Salmon Carpaccio to start, but then their Yellowtail Jalapeño came out to our table instead. It was disappointing to see, but then our server came out shortly and apologized. She also made sure to make our appetizer "on the house" for our troubles. This is a gesture I appreciate coming from one service industry gal to another; very professional and hard to find these days. Once the Salmon Carpaccio came out, we were very pleased with it and loved the notes of lemon zest and oil on the salmon sashimi. Next, we were eager to try something new so we asked about the "pressed sushi," on the menu and went with the salmon avocado sushi stack. To be honest, it was okay. It was literally salmon, rice and avocado pressed together and cut into little rectangular pieces. I'll give it to our server though because did tell us that's exactly what it was. Then we ordered the pan fried gyoza dumplings and the Cambodian Roll. The dumplings were disappointing. The flavor was just okay and it felt overpriced. I just know I could get those same dumplings elsewhere for cheaper, or that I would have better luck buying frozen gyoza dumplings and making them myself at home. However, the Cambodian roll was absolutely delicious! Bravo to whoever invented it! All of those flavors, textures and temperatures came together beautifully. It was unique and very satisfying. Wow, I had no idea that Forest Acres had all these yummy places! They are located in a shopping plaza kinds tucked away. We walked in and was seated fairly quickly. The decor was lovely, make sure you look up at the ceiling for the beautiful mural. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The inside was a really nice vibe, great date night or hang out. On a recent trip to Columbia, the weather was pleasant so my dining companion and I opted for patio seating. We began our experience with cocktails. I got the vanilla lavender old fashioned, which was a lovely twist on a classic old fashioned. For a starter, I got the mango summer rolls. they were huge, fresh, and flavorful. For the caliber of business they run I'd definitely invest in some customer service training for the staff. The establishment is beautiful and has great lighting and ambience. I did however see serves and staff walk over trash on the floor all night no one thought to even get it up. Food was tasty and very fresh. They have great happy hour deals. I enjoyed the crab Rangoon, California roll, Yuzu Cheesecake was delicious(small portion for price but tasty). Bathrooms were cleaned. The ambiance here is super aesthetically pleasing, super clean and service here was truly a 10/10. Taste was great! We got some of the short rib bulgogi tacos which were some of my favorite finds for the night, however the dumplings we got that were in happy hour were so tasty as well. The hostess was super friendly, and when he found out it was our first time, he went over the menu with us and gave some great recommendations. Quick heads-up: I totally forgot to take food pictures , I know, I know. But I did manage to snap a few nice shots of the venue. We ordered a few items, including: California sushi rolls, pho, and chicken fried rice. Everything was delicious! I especially loved the fried rice and sushi. My sister enjoyed the pho, and they gave her such a large portion--she had enough for two days! Next time I'm in the area, I definitely plan to stop by and try more dishes. We were cutting through Columbia, and everyone was hungry so we jumped on Yelp and saw that there was a CO. We are familiar with the one in Charleston and loved it so stopped by to give it a try. The space was so cool, great design and vibes! The food was just as good, we tried the tofu buns and they were delicious. My son loves sushi and his rolls were pretty tasty. I heard the Vietnamese ramen was also great, plenty of noodles and a great pork broth. We split the green curry; I highly recommend this dish, had a little bit of kick but not too over powering. What has gotten me to come back multiple times is the happy hour menu. They have a great selection at affordable prices. Highly recommend for happy hour! CO does "dollar dumplings" every Monday and Wednesday, which was a deal we couldn't pass up. They weren't busy on a Wednesday (early) evening, and our party of 8 was seated right away. The interior was spacious and had Asian-inspired decor. For drinks, I chose the Blackberry Lychee mocktail, which was fantastic. It was super refreshing and I loved the muddled blackberries. My friends also enjoyed the Jalapeño Guava Margarita and Moscow Filly mocktail. For food, I started with an order of 5 Spicy Crab Rangoons, since these were $1 each for happy hour. The other "dollar dumplings" deal was on the Pork & Ginger Gyoza, which also looked tasty. The Crab Rangoons were so good, I ended up ordering 3 more. The spice level was perfect and they paired so well with the Thai sweet chili sauce. I also got the Pressed Salmon & Avocado sushi and shared an order of Crispy Tuna with my friend. The texture of the Crispy Tuna was amazing - definitely one of our favorites. I was very excited to see pressed sushi on the menu, and the Pressed Salmon & Avocado was pretty good. This is like my 4th time coming here and I think this is pretty much my favorite restaurant now, especially during happy hour lol. My friend put me on to this spot and I usually don't come without her but yesterday was my birthday and I wanted to go to happy hour for half off sushi rolls and crispy tuna rice lol. I started off with an amaretto sour because that is my go to drink, then I got crispy tuna rice, the sunset crab roll (no avocado) and crab rangoons (they were regular price but a dollar on mondays and Wednesday). The crispy tuna rice and so fresh and the rice is crunchy. The sauce and the slice of jalapeno on top give it a nice kick and add to the flavor. A 10/10 , please go get it. The sunset crab roll is my top favorite. It is creamy , the texture is crunchy from the crispy sweet potato pieces on top. If you don't like raw fish, I highly recommend this roll. The spicy crab Rangoon was also needed for this birthday meal. They came out super fresh, so they were hot, creamy and crunchy. I love the spicy mayo sauce and whatever else they drizzle on top because it adds so much flavor. My whole meal was a 100/10. I ordered the ube cheesecake to go because I was stuffed but I had to get it because I LOVE ube. Omg it was so good and creamy. The ube has a beautiful nutty and vanilla flavor to it. And the crème anglaise added to the creaminess to it. I think it should have a crunchy bottom for texture but tbh the flavor was perfect. There's a lot of seating but I anticipate it's pretty packed on the weekends. When we first arrived it was packed but we were seated immediately and the service was on point. It's me again .... I can say use to love this spot ... but I'll get to that later... I switched it up and ordered the Spicy Salmon Crunch Poke bowl.. the name is misleading because the spice wa not there. Other than that the dish was an amazing combination. From the salmon to the seaweed salad the pickled carrots and the citrus twist with the lime. I'm not a big fan of of the edamame but I missed it all together and went town.... NOW... my last visit here we were stuck with a waitress that wasn't what we were normal to when we visit ... WE GOT THE SAME WAITRESS .... Didn't get a name when we sat down just had no personality at all. The first time she could have been having a bad day. The 2nd time I can't accept that. Another pet peeve is leaving the appetizer plates in the table. I didn't even ask them to be cleared because I knew she wasn't going to do it. You can't work customer service with no personality. I would say something to the manager but the last time it was swept under the rug and she became defensive as of the waitress was prefect. At the end of the day I enjoyed my Poke bowl ..
