Extensive menu with options ranging from sushi, noodle/rice bowls, wings and even all you can eat options, The Make your Own bowl was a fun experience, allowing me to pick all your own veggies, protein and sauces. From the buffet, I opted for onions, broccoli, baby corn, whole cracked egg, chicken, crab stick, shrimp, steak and fried tofu and, for the sauce, a blend of Mongolian, General Tso and garlic oil. After filling my bowl, I handed it over to the chef and went back to my table where a cooked dish was later served. We also tried the Tuna Naruto Roll which included crab, cucumber, avocado, and tuna, and a special requested addition of avocado and eel sauce. Presentation was beautiful and, while the roll turned out a bit different than described on the menu, it was fresh and tasty. It took me forever to try this place out. Long story short, it's Mongolian BBQ. You grab a bowl and tray, fill it with noodles and other toppings, add your sauces, and then the chef cooks it on a big stove. I want to say the price is per pound as well. This is kind of cool except I don't think it's worth the price for the vegan/vegetarian option. While the bowls are small and overflowing with vegetables, it was a small soggy puddle once cooked down. I opted for the udon noodles which may have been where I went wrong because it took up the bulk of the bowl. Adding in miso, a mushroom powder or other seasonings would have made this a bit better. The tofu was marked as fish tofu so is it fish or tofu? I didn't ask because it should be clearly labeled. My server was great; attentive, helpful and pleasant. If you're vegetarian or vegan, do the all you can eat so that you're not hungry due to the lack of plant protein in a few hours. read more

The all you can eat sushi was good but the Korean fried chicken wasn't tossed when it should be also the tempura was overly done and that tempura sauce was not it. lol water down like whoever is making it just mix water with wasabi not no shoyu, sugar or mirin mixture. There is effectively nothing special about this concept. The AYCE hibachi table is found at any Chinese Buffets restaurant in Columbia. Furthermore, the service is disorganized and frankly rude. I was ignored for half of the stay only to find out that the server that started my table went to another section and we were ignored for a majority of our stay until another server stepped in near the end. The seasoning selection were disappointing. The whole concept of creating your own flavor only works in sauces, not the flavor of the bowl itself. This chain is just hopping on the lazy trend wagon of Mongolian bbq, which again is just a copy of what already exists at a Chinese Buffet. The "Korean Fried Chicken" was also just regular chicken wings you can find at a Chinese restaurant and the sauce taste chemically. The only thing that was fine was the sushi which portions may be semi-generous cause of Grand Opening. The ambiance was fine - though it could appear as tacky to some. It doesn't seem like it was purposefully done as they tried to create a "elegant" dining vibe, but also have a industrial circular hibachi table encased by plexiglass with tape sloppily applied to hold it all together. Its like if you ignored half the restaurant, it seems nice, but you turn around and its just eyesore. Overall - another miss by this shopping center. We've had burning 99 close a year after they opened and it might be the same story for Yummy Bowl. I wish we had something interesting come in - not just the same old concepts. Hopefully the Southern B Mac thats opening next door is not as disappointing. read more

Best all you can eat sushi ever- the menu is really clear about what's spicy and what's raw so I was easily able to place my order without worrying about my current dietary restrictions. Second time visiting for lunch. I did the $13.49, one - make your own bowl. This time I was very thoughtful on how I prepared my bowl. Started with Singapore noodles. Added my vegetables in piles so I could compare ratios. Did the two types of chicken and shrimp. Added dry seasoning on my protein. Tried almost all the sauces and picked two. When your food arrives it has whatever rice you ordered on the bottom with your cooked build a bowl on top. Visually, it was appealing. The food was hot and fresh. Vegetables cooked just right. My perfect ratio of veggies, protein and noodles. First bite, hot and so fresh tasting. The spiciness I aimed for was spot on as well as flavor. It was seriously good eats. This was so close to being a 5 star review. It's a really neat set up where you can create and customize your own meal. Everything was very clean and there were so many options. They keep everything on ice and stocked for exactly how many people are there and restock often as needed which is great because it avoids waste. Props for that! We came for my son's birthday and did the all you can eat yummy bowl option. He really enjoyed it. The server was also friendly, though not overly so and quick to bring items requested like a new bowl, refill, chopsticks, etc. BUT, here's the star deduction: I think the server cut us off because she came over and set down the check without asking if we needed anything else. Now remember, I said we did an all you can eat option. Me and my daughter had only gone up twice and my husband and son had gone up three times. The bowl they provide is really small so it's not huge portions each time and with all the options we didn't fill it up very high each time because we wanted to go back to try different combinations of flavors. Jokes on her because we were actually not planning to go up again but the fact that she did that came off as rude and judgmental therefore... a five star became a 4 star. We discussed that we plan to return in the future to do the all you can eat sushi option but hopefully the owners/managers will take this to heart and have a talk with the waitstaff about how to avoid this rude behavior.
