I've tried eating here twice in the last two weeks and left both times without ever getting food. The first visit, my coworkers and I came for their BOGO sushi. We were seated, ordered drinks, and then were told their freezer had broken the night before and they could only serve soup. Disappointing, but we left understanding. Still, a heads-up before seating would've been appreciated. We decided to try again the following week. Again, seated quickly, drinks came out, and we placed our orders. After 40 minutes, we had no food and barely saw our server. The restaurant wasn't even busy. One of us had to go into the kitchen to get an update, and we were finally told they were severely short-staffed and it would be another 30 minutes. We waited it out, but by 90 minutes, still nothing. Meanwhile, a large party that came after us got their food -- pretty sure they were given our orders. We ended up canceling everything and walking out -- again. Grabbed sushi from Harris Teeter just to eat something. We had planned around this lunch and missed work meetings. Got appetizers we got the Kung Fu Punch roll and the Pork belly buns; both of which were great. The roll was super flavorful and the buns had a bit of sweetness we enjoyed, although a bit dry. I recommend eating with some soy sauce. For mains we got the Pad Thai and spicy salmon crunch bowl. The bowl was not my favorite, not much flavor and a bit too many vegetables, most of my bites were the greens or seaweed. Needs more salmon and rice! They accidentally gave us edamame and salmon carpaccio and let us keep it. Edamame was a little salty and salmon carpaccio ended up being discolored and old anyways. We got 3 lychee martinis and they were not good. I get this drink often and this place would rank the lowest. Our service was not the best today either but we thought the food portions were great along with the prices. We still left satisfied. We visited CO while in town for Dreamville fest! I love that during brunch their mimosas are $2 for single and $4 for a double. They also have carafes for $15. I adore restaurants who have a variety of mimosa flavors. They had guava, mango , peach and cranberry. I appreciate CO still having their regular menu as an option to eat from because sometimes I don't always want brunch on the weekends. Our group started out with some sushi, which was really good. For our entrees we had hibachi. While the rice was a little bland the meat and veggies were fresh! The menu item that stood out to me the most was the curry shrimp. It was so tasty and flavorful. Tonight was a weird night for me and the missus. Just hanging at home and suddenly developed a hankering for Asian food, but too lazy to drive anywhere too far. We ordered a quick fare: chicken katsu and pho. Surprisingly, despite how bougie the place looks, the food was earthy, warm and soothing. The pho tasted like Saigon on a warm rainy day. The katsu felt like a great pat in a back as soon as you step in your neighborhood izakaya after a long slog at work. I just wish the ambiance of the place wasn't so bar-like because it felt like the food was a little too out of place. I had been here a couple of years ago and was shocked at the difference in food quality. The tuna appetizer tasted old and we had to send it back and the server did not seem surprised. The noodles were undercooked in the noodle salad. The curry laska broth was completely different than I had remembered with almost rancid taste. I've been here for drinks before, but never to eat so I was excited to try it out for a last-minute dinner! Firstly, it's located in North Hills near AC Hotel and across from Stir and The Capital Grille. The best place to park is in the parking deck that's attached to the building that houses Stir and Capital Grille. Just make sure to check the signs because it's an office building as well so there are some restrictions in certain areas of the deck. First off drinks they are very good, strong enough (but not too strong), and well-priced for the quality that you get. Now the next important part, the food. DELICIOUS! We decided to get a few things and share, which I've found is the best way to do things when you go out to eat nowadays. We ordered the crispy rice, Golden sushi roll, crab rangoons, and fresh summer rolls. The crispy rice was amazing and crisped to perfection. I also loved all of the other food, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fresh summer rolls. It wasn't that they were not good, but I would say more of a preference.
