Given CO's location in North Hills, the ambiance, and the excellent reviews, I was looking forward to a great meal last night. What I got instead was the most disappointing meal I've been served in years. My party of three ordered three different cocktails and each was disappointing. The dirty martini was fair at best, the jalapeno guava margarita tasted nothing of guava or fruit at all and tasted like the bartender poured several ounces of pickled jalapeno liquid in as the only mixer, and the cilantro paloma was totally unbalanced (all booze, no flavor, yet completely watered down and undrinkable). The food was no better. The pork bun tasted like they briefly warmed a piece of country ham and slapped it in a steamed bun as a poor substitute for actual pork belly. The crispy rice was drenched in sauce, covering up the flavorless tuna, and the rice was so over-fried it was hard and tough, not crispy. The drinks and food were so disappointing we decided not to waste any more money by ordering entrees and left to go eat dinner elsewhere. The only saving grace was the excellent service by our waitress Hannah, who I hope gets a new job at a better restaurant. CO is an absolute waste of money, time, and space, and I hope they up their standards dramatically or clear out for a better option. With so many excellent spots within walking distance, I'm shocked CO is still in business. read more

We were going to try another restaurant in the same area but the wait was too long so we walked up the street and found this gem. The beef tacos were awesome and my wife had the Asian salad which I think might have been better than my tacos. We can't say enough about the spring rolls everything tasted fresh and delicious. A really delicious treat. We were staying at the AC hotel recently and decided to give the CO a try. We sat at the bar and started with a tasty margarita using my choice of booze. Really good. We had the wings, spring rolls, and the tacos. All really good. Would absolutely return. read more

I didn't know that CO also had a location in Raleigh as I loved going to the one in Charlotte with my brother. Although this was a slightly different feel to the restaurant's atmosphere similar to a mid-high end Asian fusion dinner place, compared to the Charlotte one which is more like mid end Asian lunch place. Considering it's location it makes a lot of sense, but I prefer the feel of the latter as it feels more casual. Service was really good and on top of everything which I appreciated. Moving on, we came here for Happy Hour as it he discounted items, especially for the Tuesday/Thursday half-off Roll special. Happy hour lasts from 4-7PM and has a good range of foods to try from $3-5. In terms of the food, we got a lot. Starting off with the Tuna Tataki, I would say it was a pretty good flavour but nothing too crazy. Just some tuna sashimi with sauce. We then had the Garlic Sesame Tuna Tacos, which we loved. It had a good mix of flavours, crunch, and a fresh taste to it with the greens and definitely recommend this one. Next we had the Pork Belly buns which come either steamed or fried. Personally I preferred the fried one, but both were great. It also reminded me of the braised pork belly bun from Hmart, which you should try if you haven't. After this we had the Beef and Kimchi dumplings which definitely satisfied my dumpling cravings. The sauce it comes with absolutely brings that flavour to the next level, and I tried to get as much on my spoon when eating these dumplings. I highly recommend their dumplings in general. Next we had the Malaysian Chili wings which were tasted absolutely amazing. Absolutely juicy, and I highly recommend you dip it in CO's hot sauce (which is one of the main reasons I love CO). Absolutely recommend this dish for its great wing flavours. Moving on we had two sushi rolls, the Kung Fu and Samurai Supreme, which I thought were okay. I felt that the cream cheese in both the rolls mainly dominated the flavours. Nothing much to say about these except there we just average rolls. Lastly, we ended on the salmon carpaccio, which I forgot to take a picture of, but it was a great finish to the meal. It had a delicious citrus flavour that in my opinion helped improve the flavour of the sushi rolls when I tried dipping them in it. I kinda wanna get it again just to dip my sushi in it. Highly recommend this one! Overall, I absolutely enjoyed the food at CO at a great price for the amount of food, but I felt that I was about mix of average and amazing food which is why I'm leaving a 4 star review rather than a 5. If you've never been, coming during Happy Hour will definitely leave you wanting more. CO has a nice, hotel bar restaurant type of vibe to it. The people were friendly and helpful. Not knowing what to expect, we flipped through the menu. My dining partner got a blackberry sake, which he enjoyed to start. For food, we ordered two apps. The first was the wings, which comes in a plate of 6. The flavor of the sauce on this was strong and pleasant, even if the the texture was just average. Would eat this again! The beef bao was a little strange- if you are thinking about traditional baos, this isn't it. It was more like a soggy dumpling, so I wouldn't order again. Then came the five spice pork belly banh mi and spicy salmon crunch poke bowl. The banh mi had decent flavor, but just not enough ingredients packed inside, so you got mostly bread in many bites. The poke bowl was surprisingly large and looked nice! I really enjoyed the salmon, seaweed salad, and some of the other elements in here. Though this is not a poke specialty place and they don't pretend to be, I'd get it again because it was filling and the ingredients seemed to be of good quality! The Beef and kimchi dumplings and sunset crab were good although the sushi was not properly rolled. However both the masa ramen and spicy pho were not so much. Day date at it's best! We popped into CO for a quick bite and adult conversation and just had the most lovely time. The service was good, the menu overwhelming mainly due to all the options we had to choose from. Talk about difficult! We started with the Pork Belly Buns - I was hoping for more - really wanted a little sweetness on the bun the pork was cooked to perfection. The appetizers were okay (avoid mango rolls) the entrees missed the mark on every level - burnt drunken noodles with charred bits all over; basil chicken without basil or sauce and 4 small pieces of chicken nuggets; hibachi chicken was sub par; lychee iced tea was basically iced tea with a lychee dropped in. I was really excited to try this place, but it was a major disappointment. I got the spicy udon noodles with chicken. The noodles ended up being Lo Mein noodles and not the typical udon noodles. It use to have equal amounts of tuna as it did rice but now there was maybe a little pinch of tuna . You couldn't even taste the tuna . My girlfriend and I went to Co for the first time last night. When we first came in there was no one at the hostess stand so we waited a couple of minutes before I got the bartenders attention and he found the hostess. She did not seem very happy to be there, but quickly sat us at a high top table. The decor inside was nice, clean, and simple. To begin we ordered a glass of rosé and the Orange Blossom cocktail, both were very good. Our server was attentive, knowledgable, and friendly. We only ordered two small plates (we were restaurant hopping) so I can only comment on these items, but we were thoroughly pleased with our order! The steamed buns came with crispy and delicious pork belly and the crab and pork spring rolls were very tasty as well. I would say the plating could be a little better, but this didn't take away from the food. Update: Folks with food allergies - this an update to my post from over a week ago and the statement still stands. If you have a food allergy, seriously watch out! I reduced my review from three stars to two based on this subsequent experience this evening. I decided to give them a third try and the exact same thing happened. Again, I ordered the Tofu Summer Rolls from the gluten free menu in which there are no shrimp. I even indicated in the order comments "FYI - Shellfish Allergy," just in case. When I went to pick up the order, I checked it (because last time there were shrimp) and again, shrimp. In the Tofu Summer Rolls. Which have no shrimp. And I even noted a shellfish allergy. The on duty manager was apologetic and remade my order, which was great. But, Co - train your team on the menu and train them on food allergies! After this third time of being "shrimped," It's clear you're not concerned about your customers safety with respect to food allergies and I will definitely not be back. read more

Went here for dinner last night and let me start by saying that finding parking here on a Friday night is a nightmare. Save yourself the hassle of driving around looking for parking and pay the valet $5.00 and be done with it. Co had quite a few interesting choices. We ordered 5 appetizers and shared a ramen. All the appetizers were good with the exception of the bulgogi tacos; skip that. Also skip the ramen. This had to be one of the worst ramens we ever had. Fresh Summer Rolls had too much cilantro and not enough basil. The sauce it came with was not the typical peanut sauce that you would expect. Curry Laksa was surprisingly good. Comes in some sort of yellow curry soup base with chopped zucchini, cilantro, beans sprouts, and noodles. There was just a mouthful of noodles so don't expect much. Hanoi Noodles was sweet, salty, and savory. Service was OK. I tried really hard to love this place because it has many dishes other viet locations doesn't have. I been here twice and both visit was terrible. The only exception to this is one of their servers, Mitch. He was awesome! We got seated for a while (about 15-20 minutes) and no server came to serve us (Come on, at least give us water!). Multiple servers walked pass us. Still no server. Luckily, all this changed until Mitch stepped up and asked us if we were served yet, while he was cleaning the table next to us. Right after he was done, he served us and became our wonderful waiter. Made sure our orders were right in the kitchen BEFORE it got to our table. This is a huge thing for us. It saved not only us a long wait but a trip for himself. He clearly communicated that they did something wrong with my order in the kitchen so it'll be a little longer before my entree was out. This moment was a gem because I didn't mind the wait, I just wanted my order was right so I can just dig in. He also checked and confirmed dish ingredients because I have food allergies. I would give him 100/100 for customer service. On to the food, I will post pictures of them to compare my 1st and 2nd visit. I ordered the same appetizer and entree both visit to see if the quality changed but some got worst. For example, the "Pork and Ginger Gyoza" was much worst the 2nd visit because instead of searing it lightly, they burnt the bottom. Both visit, the inside of the Gyoza was the same. The top of the Gyoza was light pink and perfectly done, however, the bottom (where searing take place) was always overdone and dry. The color difference in the filing is more drastic in person. As for the "Vietnamese Ramen", finding a good ramen place is really hard, the broth was flavorless both time. Would like it to be more savory and more favor. Bok Choy AND egg has been perfect both visit. The Pork Belly is a different story. The first time, the lean part of the pork belly was soft, tender, moist and slight crisp around the edges. It was a fail on my 2nd visit because the lean part of the Pork Belly was so dry and hard to chew. It was so bad that I hand it off to my significant other to try before sending it back to see if he agrees. He was surprised how hard it was to chew it so he ended up spitting it out on his plate. In addition, the noodles clumped up really bad in the middle so I ended up not eating the noodles at all on the 1st visit. Now for the Banh Mi, I would say it's pretty mediocre and decent. It's not as great as the Banh Mi Ha Long Food Truck in Cary. Try one of theirs on a Sunday and you'll understand what I mean. (Banh Mi Ha Long Food Truck makes one of the best Banh Mi in the Triangle. Worth the drive every Sunday.) Lastly, Tuna Tacos were pretty good, according to my man. The only downside is the side of it. We compared the size of the tacos to his IPhone 5s to give you an idea. For the size and price is not too bad, which is $8. So splendid job there. The location is pretty easy to get and walk to. Just not when it rains. read more

My husband and I came for the North Hills restaurant week and had some good and some less good experiences here. We hadn't reserved a table and when we arrived the hostess asked us if it was okay if we sat on the patio as we could be seated immediately. That was great we thought but at the end it wasn't. We had terrible service out there. After placing our drink order we immediately also ordered our 3 course (2 appetizers, 1 entree) menu as it was the easiest according to the server before he had to go back to the back of the restaurant. So we did and we got our fish tacos promptly. They were delicious!!! The best fish tacos (tuna tacos) I've ever had. In the meantime I had also gotten my Iced Vietnamese coffee that was dripping because the glass was too full unfortunately it was also dripping on my legs as we were sitting on the patio and the tables there are those outdoor wooden tables. It was kind of annoying as we didn't have any spare napkins and we had just used our napkin for the tacos. After a bit another server cleared our plates and I could eventually ask for more napkins to clean out the mess. The coffee by the way was not good at all. It didn't have enough milk and as our server never came or anybody else I couldn't ask for more milk or even sugar. Don't get me wrong it wasn't that the coffee was too strong it was just bitter. So either low quality coffee or burnt/reheated coffee that was iced. We waited and waited but no see of our server. New people were seated and their dishes were coming out. We could see that our server was on the computer right outside the patio but he would not come and check after us. After around 20-30 minutes of waiting!!! our server finally showed up with our entrees. We were super confused as our sushi had not come out yet. So I asked him. All he could say was: "oh, they told me they had already brought it out! " Ahm, sorry but what about an apology and maybe asking if we would like to have it now with our entree or after our entree or if he should take the entree back for now. So we sat there a bit confused and started to try to eat our entrees. At least me. I had the chicken curry (curry laksa) and my plate was again way too full, I had some bean sprouts on the side that seemed to not have been washed before as they still had a bit on dirt it. And it was super spicy. I really like spicy food but this was too spicy and the noodles in it were sort of over cooked. Also, by looking at the pictures here it didn't have the same color. In the pictures the curry seems more orange than mine. Mine was rather yellowish. The portion was big though and had plenty of chicken. My husband got the Pad Thai and that one was good. After a few minutes our server came back with our sushi put it on the table and left. We had no time to ask him if he could take it out later or not or he didn't even mentioned a sorry there. So there we were with our hot entree that would get cold if we wouldn't eat it and our sushi that could spoil in the heat. So I ate my sushi which was good. I had the kung fu roll and it was actually pretty good. My husband had one roll with crab in it and we both weren't a bit fan of it, I think it was because the crab had too much mayo. After the sushi I tried to eat my food but it was just too spicy so we asked for the check and the box. Our server had not checked on us an entire time in 2 hours; yes he didn't even came to refill our water but luckily we could get another's servers attention one time so she refilled. When he came back with the check he said again: hey, do you have it ready? So I don't have to come back again as I have to go to the back of the restaurant. Sorry, but that is your job. I understand that it might have been a busy night but by that time the restaurant had already cleared out. And if you are busy please at least let the customer know that you have a lot of tables and that it might take a bit longer etc. He also never mentioned anything about our food not coming out in the right order or after like 30 minutes. All in one: terrible service but delicious tacos. I might come back just for the tacos and sit at the bar so I have a bartender right there who can take care of me. read more
