My daughter and I stopped by this place after moving some stuff into her dorm at Anderson. We got 2 of the daily specials. We got our food quickly and it was very good and a great portion size. Instead of vegetables, I ordered a small salad. Over $13 with a drink seemed rather excessive. Salad was good, but chicken was average. There is nothing FRESH or Handmade about this place. The food is all frozen and heated in the kitchen. The shrimp is sad, over recooked rubber, the frozen scallops are like old chewing gum, the flounder is hard and tasteless. Nothing is seasoned. The okra was frozen, not fresh. The lasagna looked like vomit. And the noodles were limp and over cooked. It looks like their desserts are made fresh, but not daily. The waitress MADE FUN of us for asking if they had wine. FYI. They don't. And upon leaving the broken decor attacked as the seat popped up and smashed my husbands fingers. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS BEING FRESH MADE BY HAND FOOD. Where'd y'all get that? My sister Jeanne would loooove something' like that! Well, you folk like everything? Have enough? Sorry about that chip in the corner of that table. Poor lil boy got dizzy and cracked his poor lil head on that this morning and busted that edge right off and Rick hasn't had a minute to fix that thing! Poor thing, had no idea why he got so dizzy but his momma said he's been doing that lately so I told her she best get his sugar checked! At least that's what I think but Marie over there, well, her sister is a doctor and she said it could be the weather or somethin but of course who knows what it could be, right? We're not doctors but that's what MY momma had happening' to her BEFOR they figured it was the diabetes no one ever knew she even had! I absolutely LOVE their Greek chicken and potatoes. It's so yummy. Other good items to order: ribeye steak sandwich (with fries...they have the BEST fries), chicken and dumplings. I used to love the meatloaf but the last time I ordered it, it was so bad I'll never take that risk again. :-( You know it's bad when one bad serving of it ruined it for me forever (despite having eaten it multiple times when it was made right or by the right person). The waitresses and owners are friendly, efficient, and just plain nice. If you're a regular (and we are), they get to know you over time. The one thing I don't care for are their sides. While the entrees taste homemade like you'd find at Grandma's house, the sides taste like they came straight from a can. read more

Horrible! Awful! Don't eat here. We, 3 people, ordered the scallops. We could not cut them in half with a fork, much less eat them. Best described as fried rubber. The waitress saw that we hadn't eaten any and asked if there was a problem. We explained that they were inedible and she took them away. My family and I go here from time to time. The family that owns this restaurant is Greek and very kind to us!! I ordered the Spinach Pie (essentially spanakopita) and it came with a fresh side salad. The spanakopita was good..They also bring out buttered bread. At the end of the meal they treated us to fresh watermelon! Everything on their menu is delish and the servings are huge.They do not joke around about serving good hardy portions. We've eaten here almost from the day they opened. For years, we've been there virtually every Saturday night. Also a fellow retiree and I have been coming each week for lunch. The owners -- "Billy" and Soula -- came here from Greece. She runs the kitchen. He's all around, greeting and seating and supervising. Portions are ample, if not enormous. We often take home as much as we have eaten. Others have mentioned their pattern in season of small plates of fruit or melon for everyone who walks in the door, at no charge, and there's always a plate of cookies orbits of cake at the register for you to take one home. All the servers are expected to serve every eater. One will ask about beverage, another your food, another refreshing your drink, and so on. So the preference is to put your tip in a basket at the register for all to share. Read the other reviews. It's hard for me to overstate the homey atmosphere, friendly service, abundant food, sandwiches, gyros, burgers, veggie plates, entries with sides, delicious desserts. I had the chicken parm, and it was great! Nice side of some multigrain fresh baked bread and spaghetti with a nice, slightly sweet sauce. Prices are reasonable, service is fast and friendly. The menu has Italian, Greek, Southern, and American traditional dishes including fish, steaks, chicken, and an excellent selection. Coach House really exemplifies comfort food. The menu is vast, the portions are large, and it all just tastes great. And in most cases, you WILL be taking home leftovers. This is not a gourmet restaurant, and thank God for that! Many of the dishes are "like Mom used to make" and just have that comfort feel. If you want fancy, snooty fare, go elsewhere. But if you want inexpensive, satisfying meals served by a staff that treats you more like family than a customer, then give Coach House a try! read more
