First time eating at Yank's Place. Visited on a Friday a little after 1:00. We ordered a cheeseburger special and a hamburger steak plate. Both were very good. Hamburger is freshly patted and you can tell. Service was great and Yank's is very clean inside. We will definitely be back. read more

Came for lunch on a Sunday. Terrible food. Waited about 30 minutes for our food. 3 of us got meat the 3. And all the vegetables were ice cold. Corn bread was so hard you couldn't eat it. Menu was totally outdated. Didn't have 3 things that we wanted that was in the menu. Just a very disappointing. Used to be a great place to eat. But went downhill bad. read more

This is one of the esiquential hole in the wall, little town cafe's. Let me tell you, my wife and I like to try different places and this place didnt disappoint at all. Small town atmosphere and great food. I had the chicken liver plate, sometime they are dry inside. Let me tell you, these were perfect, crispy outside and moist and tender on the inside. Fries were awesome. My wife had an awesome hamburger steak plate. Mac and cheese to die for. Servers were friendly and everyone was smiling and happy. If you want to go get good food, its definitely worth a trip. Out of the way, just off 93 in liberty, sc. Go check them out, we will definitely put this on our go back book. Went there tonight with my wife worst experience ever. Ordered a club and my wife had meat and three. The club and fries were a club and fries kinda hard to mess that up. My wife had Fried Chicken, fries, mac and cheese and pecan pie. The fried chicken was just a flat piece of breaded chicken. Like they enlarged a chicken finger. It was big, but not what one thinks of when thinking of fried chicken. The mac and cheese was awful we gave it to the cats. The pecan pie was average. The real problem was the staff. As we are sitting there eating we hear one of the servers on the phone arguing with a customer about the order they just took home with them. The server argued with the women for at least 2 or 3 minutes. Then she talked to whoever gave the lady the order and CALLED HER BACK to tell her it was her husband's fault. Later a couple came in around 7:50 and they made sure to tell them they were closing in ten minutes so they would leave. Same thing with us and the other customers in the restaurant. When it was time to pay I noticed what I thought was a problem with the bill. Really not a big deal I just noticed I had been charged for an extra side. When I pointed this out to them they said that fries counted has two sides. Fries are about the cheapest thing you can sell why would they be counted as two sides? In any event I said I wasn't told that if I had known we would have ordered differently and that we weren't going to pay for that. I promise I was nice the first time I said it. Instead of just saying sorry for the mix-up we will take care of it they started showing me menus and telling me I was wrong and I was paying for the meal. We are literally talking about less than $2. Now I have three servers ganging up on me. At which point I start pointing out everything I've already mentioned in this post to them. Finally I just threw a $20 bill down to cover the price for the food and started to walk out when they threatened to call the police for non-payment. I guess the bill was $23 because my wife gave them the other 3 which I really wish she hadn't. Because they weren't calling the police and I don't think the police were getting involved over $3 if they did. Especially given the circumstances. What kind of restaurant goes through all that over a $2 charge? Not one I will ever be visiting again. read more

Was an awesome, locals place, where the meat was purchased daily from the local grocery store, cooked by good country people. And priced reasonable. Then the family sold it. This new guy, I don't know. The food is different, the staff is different, even the guys who went every morning now go to Hardee's. It's ok, if that's what you're looking for. Excellent place for breakfast with good food, terrific prices and friendly service. Breakfast ends at 11:00 am, and they are open 24 hours on many days. Lunch is a meat and three setup and the lasagna and hamburgers are local favorites. We stop driving to Easley for breakfast for sure. Better food and lower prices. read more

I have eaten at yanks for many years. I knew the family that used to own it and they were good people. About three years ago they sold it to a Greek fellow out of Greenville somewhere. The quality of the food has gone down bad and the service also. Don't waste your time going there now. They used to cook the best country style steak around. You could tell they took fresh cubed steak and breaded it then cooked it in brown gravy. It was delicious! All the vegetables were seasoned just right. Even after the new owner bought the business for the first couple of years the food remained pretty much the same, really good. Well I don't know what happened since the last time I ate there and now but it's not good anymore. I should have known when I ordered the country style steak this time that something was wrong when the waitress asked me if I wanted white gravy on it? I told her no, that I wanted the brown gravy that usually comes with it. What was brought out to me was a piece of pre breaded country fried steak, like you buy at Sam's club that comes frozen with white gravy included. I ordered 2 vegetables, green beans and turnip greens. The green beans tasted like they had just opened a can of green beans and heated them up, no seasoning at all and the turnip greens were the most bitter that I have ever eaten. There was no vinegar on the table to tone down the bitter greens with. And to top it off, the waitress never came back to see if I needed anything?? Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

I love Yank's. It's very reasonably priced and the "home cooked" food is great. It's got a nice family atmosphere with a country feel to it and the work staff members are so friendly. Everything is a bit different from a usual restaurant but that's what I like about it. The people in there are usually friendly locals and you don't feel uncomfortable sitting down for a meal. I personally enjoy their breakfast meals over everything else but their other meals are great as well! read more

A typical meat-and-three: hit or miss food and inattentive service in a grimy atmosphere. Decent hamburger, but somehow bad hamburger steak. Steak tips like shredded beef. Good chicken livers. Chicken and dressing casserole resembles a baby diaper. Watch your head, because the water-damaged ceiling tiles are going to fall on someone one day, and it will probably be you. Don't expect to see your waitress again after you've ordered your food, so go ahead and ask for a second drink if you're gonna want a refill. If you want any condiments, you're going to have to ask twice (but you can't, since you're only going to see your waitress once.) Purell dispensers on every table, which is weird. Not the worst meat-and-three around, but trying their best. read more

Called to place an order for pick up, they answered and placed me on hold because they were checking someone out. About 10 minutes go by so I hang up and call back, then I get a busy tone. Call back 4 more times over 20 minutes or so. Finally just decided to drive there and place my order, told the girl I had tried to place an order and what happened. She looked at the phone and realized it was still off the hook. Food took about 20 mins to be ready so a good bit of my evening has been wasted. I don't eat here, this order was for my pregnant wife.
