I came into the store to do customizations on my bag tags and receive a cleaning. Lianna I believe her name was assisted me and extremely friendly. Her and Louis who helped to customize my tags did a fantastic job and helping my choose the best colors that matches the finishes of my bags. Cleaning and customization were extremely fast. Received a call promptly (less than 1hr!) when It was done so I can come in and pick up my items. Looking forward to coming back to get additional cleaning on other bags I own. So this particular location tried to pull a "fast one" on my mother and I during the holidays. My mother has been wearing Coach for many decades, so she knows quality leather when she sees it. She ordered a handbag online which I grew to adore, however, the handbag had imperfections. She went to this location to exchange her online handbag for a better quality handbag. A week later, I ordered the same handbag online, but decided to do the "Pickup in Store" option to save on shipping. Long-story-short, this location tried to give me my mother's online defected handbag as my online pickup!!!! Guess they figured since we have the same last name, they could run this bull$hit on me...Think again MFs!!!! Fortunately, I had my mother (the expert) with me to identify this bull$hit and made them retrieve a better quality handbag!!!! With the exception of one associate, the tall African American young man who gave us bottled water and treated us with courtesy while waiting, other the associates at this store rude and think they're "slick"! I purchased a brand new, Coach Charlie Carry-All purse, for my wife, from this Coach store in Short Hills. And she loves it... Very recently, the strap broke, and I took it upon myself to call the store, with hopes that they could help to rectify/resolve the problem/issue... and all they did was continue to push it off, not my return phone calls, and blow me off for the greater part of the past 2+ weeks... Obviously, I understand what's going on in the world, in the midst of the pandemic, but absolutely no excuse to blow off a customer who spent upwards of $400 on a purse for his wife... and mind you, it was just a strap-related problem/issue. In short, I Googled other Coach stores around the area, and the Rockaway location came up. And so, I called, and spoke with the Manager, Melissa, at that location, and she was so incredibly professional, friendly, sympathetic, apologetic, compassionate, courteous, and accomodating, that somehow, she managed to get more accomplished in 15-20 minutes than Short Hills was able to do for me, in 2+ weeks! The staff at Coach Short Hills are pretentious, obnoxious, pompous, uppity, fake/phony, full of themselves, and not the least bit recommended to anyone! Take your business elsewhere... You'll be more respected and appreciated. read more

I don't think the staff is equipped to handle more than 2 to 3 customers in the store. They had 3 on the floor that day but only one at the register helping customers. I stood there waiting as two of the staff waited on an elderly lady as she looked at watches on their online catalogue at the register. There was another person at the register, but she decided to overlook me and helped a lady who came after me. She ended up having trouble doing an online return and couldn't help anyone else for quite awhile. I'm not sure if it was because I wasn't dressed as well as their other customers or because I'm not the age range they target, but I'm sad I received such treatment that I would have only expected at places like LV or Gucci. Other than that experience (that I hope was just a one off of overwhelmed staff), the store was organized and spacious. The colors for this season reflect the coming spring and helped me choose a bright coral instead of a white/beige. The staff was friendly and helpful until we got to the register. Unfortunately, I'm not going to come back anytime soon because of this experience. But when I do, I hope the staff will prove me right: that this time was just a one off for them. The new store is AMAZING. The store is a concept store, unlike any other in the company, and as you walk around it's as if you're in a real-life Coach catalog. The new layout is gorgeous (although the location may not be as good as the old one) and the environment was friendly and so down to earth that they seemed like they were having more fun than my fellow shopper and I were. There are little Coach-esque decorations all throughout the store that make it seem as though the company truly put in a lot of effort designing and visually merchandising it. You know when you just go into stores and there's stuff in the walls and stuff on the racks and maybe a few pictures and marketing here and there? Not at this store. It's all Coach. Everything Coach. It may at first be a bit overwhelming, but by the time you make it halfway through the store you find it so appealing that you can't help but take it all in. I applaud you, Coach. And thank you for not using the monogram pattern on EVERYTHING you release now =) read more

Lovely store and wonderful products. Nevertheless, I was unimpressed and frankly discouraged by the lack of customer service at this Short Hills location. Though my shoulder bag was rarely used, it showed, what I believed, was a defect and so I brought it into this store for evaluation. The sales associates advised me to take it to Tony Rago's for repair otherwise Coach would undoubtedly evaluate the matter as normal wear and tear. I believed the matter had more to do with product design than wear and tear as it was seldom used and stored correctly. Furthermore, Coach policy is to ship the item from the store for evaluation noting both the sales associates evaluation and the customer's claim even if they differ. Rather than offering to ship the item to have it evaluated, I was discouraged from doing so, told the item was three years old, not under warrantee and encouraged to see Tony Rago's repair shop. Because I own more than a few coach handbags, shoes, wallets, gloves and belts, I knew that the quality of this shoulder bag was not up to par. In the final analysis, I did not put up a fuss because I did not trust that my bag (which is otherwise beautiful except for openings it the leather weave) would be handled with care. Tried to return a belt bought at the Coach Newark Airport store. Coach at Short Hills would not take it back. They said they are not affiliated with the Coach Newark Airport store (though they both say they are Coach stores). Then when we returned the belt by mail (since the Coach store at Newark airport is inside security), they would not give us a refund, instead giving a gift card that can only be used on Coach full price merchandise. Pretty poor customer relations. After we use the card, no more Coach purchases! read more
