Wow, colossal failure. We arrived at 5:15pm and got seated, hearing from the server that 6 tables…read morearrived just before us (should've taken that as a warning). The server who seated us said she would not be serving us but our server would be along shortly. While we waited for our server, the first server seated another couple and immediately took their drink and appetizer order. After 10-15 minutes our 'server' finally arrived. By then we had pored over the beer menu and selected a couple options. She flippantly told us 'nope, not available' to the first three we chose. We finally picked a beer, and ordered our appetizers and mains. About 20 minutes later, 2 tables that arrived well after we did, started getting their apps and mains. After being in the restaurant for 45 minutes with no food in sight, we got up, paid for our beers (which she then said we didn't need to pay for, because she FORGOT TO HIT SEND ON OUR ORDER). Completely unprofessional and our server was robotic and flippant. Steer clear! The place is clearly understaffed and lacks any sort of management presence.

However it took over half an hour to get our food, at one point having to ask for an ETA which apparently annoyed the bartender/server because the service after that was horrendous. No wet naps or extra napkins with the wings, didn't ask once if we wanted a refill on our drinks. Also had the unfortunate view looking directly into the kitchen expediting station and were less than impressed with the hygiene we observed. Lastly after having to flag down for our bill because the server didn't come by once to clean up plates, he just handed us a machine although we were intending to pay by cash, still gave a generous tip but weren't even asked if we wanted change, nor did we get any sort of goodbye. I'm sad to say that I don't remember what we got last year, just that we loved it. So of course, we had to repeat again this year! And oh man, it did not disappoint. I didn't want to eat with my toddler because I did NOT want to share. I gave him a few fries because he could smell them but there was no chance he was going to touch my sandwich. Hubby got the Texan brisket (special and the last one!) and I got the chicken pesto panini. My wonderful husband offered to do splitsies and ... well, he only got a couple bites. Sadly, because of said toddler and infant in tow, we couldn't eat it there when the fries were fresh so they were a tad sad when we finally sat to eat them. No dock on Flossie's - that's our fault. I'm certain they would have been amazing fresh! All of this to say....if you're in the area or planning a visit, make sure you stop by. You won't be disappointed. Unless they're closed...that's why you need to plan your schedule around their opening hours. A second location is opening in Belleville ... kudos to Flossie's for making their dreams happen! It's a bit pricier than expected but the food and environment makes up for it. We tried a few of their sandwiches and they were all juicy and flavourful in their own way. It's all packed with a healthy combination of high quality ingredients. The burger was cooked to a nice juicy medium rare, and the sandwich breads were toasted perfectly. You have the choice of the usual sides, but the coleslaw definitely stands out with a creamy and sweet but well balanced profile.
