I would like to write up and share my personal experience working directly with Bob at Coachwerx for over 10 years. I've taken 3 of my vehicles to him over the years and received nothing but quality work, excellent communication, and amazing service every single time. In 2015 I took my black 2009 F150 to Bob for some dents in the door. This is when his shop was over in Lakeside/el cajon and he worked directly with my State Farm insurance, repaired it quickly and it looked brand new. He even fixed a few small dents in the rear fender that I didn't ask him to. More recently, last year (2025) I took my 5th wheel trailer to Bob, as the stickers on the front cap had been disintegrating and wouldn't come off, and they had ruined the paint. I asked him to remove the stickers and then repaint the front cap the original white color. His team did an excellent job, finishing the work quickly and it looked better than it did when brand new. Finally, I just recently (Jan 2026) took my 2016 F250 to Bob as I had accidentally backed into the hitch on my 5th wheel and put a dent in the tailgate. I brought it over for his team to look at, and they took the tailgate off and kept it to repair so I could keep my truck in the meantime. Within a week they had repaired it and asked me to come by so they could reinstall it and adjust everything. His team went above and beyond the already perfect repair to the metal and paint, and reassembled the handle, did some extra work to help me out with a tailgate soft close shock I had installed that had broken, and helped sort out some issues with my backup camera. In my experience working with Bob and Coachwerx for both vehicle and RV repair, as well as paying out of pocket and going through insurance, I have had nothing but great experiences and received excellent service. This place is absolutely amazing. While visiting from Oregon, my RV door would not open. My friend put me on the phone with Bob at Coachworks. This guy did everything to help me out. He called me back on face time so he could see what was happening. He then walked me through getting it opened. He found a handle for me, and opened up his schedule to get me in to fix it right away so I could enjoy my vacation. This is the first time in all my RVing years that I didn't have to wait and wait and wait some more for a repair. As they fixed it they saw minor things that need some TLC and took care of that too. I have this amazingly beautiful rig. But accidents happens, I was driving threw a lot and scratched a lot of my boxes. I needed my beautiful rig to be back to show room quality. I called coach werx to see if they could assist in my mistakes. They were timely in coming to me to have there driver take her to the shop( I was in shock and couldn't drive her). The open communications and guidance from Bob was top notch! My rig was gone for 2 weeks, while there they noticed a few loose wires and other things that needed attention. I was glad to have found them, they did a through inspection on her and made sure she was as good as new! If you ever need any work done I 100 percent recommend them! read more

Stole our trailer. This is an unlicensed business with a tax ID that blackmails customers. Bob confirmed he does not have one after he stole our trailer. Bob Peacock agreed to do an estimate for us and stated the only financial liability involved would be with the insurance company and our deductible. We believe he immediately started looking for a buyer because he started from the beginning saying repairs could be more than he stated to the insurance agency and pressuring us to sell it to his friend for the insurance money and $500. We decided to go get a second opinion and informed him we would pick it up and he fabricated a $900 bill immediately and locked the trailer threatening storage fees if we did not pay it. In the past I've use Bob to help fix our coach. This time I asked him if he was interested in completely restoring my boat trailer. We completely took this thing down to nothing. Even had to weld in all brand new supports in leaf springs. Bob and his team knocked it out of the park. I guess the saying is right, you pay for what you get. read more

Save yourself the trouble and find another RV body shop!!! This business was not recommended to me but it was the body shop that Rick's RV in El Cajon used for their body repair. I had a flat tire on my camper van that tore up the whole left rear quarter panel. I took it to Rick's and they repaired the Winnebago parts but the body work needed Ram parts so they told me Coachwerx was their body guy. I was told that Bob Peacock from Coachwerx came out to look at it while parked at Rick's and to write up an estimate. I never met him and he only worked with me over the phone. His first excuse in December was that email was down. In January he claimed that one single part is not available, that "Star Trek ships would have to beam them down from space" because he just couldn't get one piece of molding. I asked if he could do the rest of the work to make it roadworthy so I could drive it until that piece came in. He assured me he could. So he told me he was ordering parts. In the first week of February he said he could have it ready in a couple of weeks. Two weeks later I call for an update. Two days after that he finally returned my call. He started off with telling me my insurance agent said I had a problem with his work. (How could I? I knew he hadn't even started.) He also told me that he couldn't do the work because he doesn't have a closed shop and it was raining. (Big lie, he has a shop that looks like there is space for two 35 footers in it, with roll down garage doors.) He blamed Rick's RV for not having space so he could get down between the vehicles to assess damage properly. When I told him that it had only been raining two days, and that I didn't appreciate the way he didn't take responsibility for not doing ANY work for the two weeks that he had it, that seemed to set him off. I was told to come pick it up. Which I did. In reading the Yelp reviews now, I realized he would try to charge me for storage for something that wasn't my fault. I now believe that he strung me along since November when he could have had parts ready to go. Just by telling me to come pick it up means, to me, that he hadn't even picked up the phone to order any parts. Please be aware that this guy does not have good business sense. He doesn't take responsibility. He's also just rude. When I had to bring my insurance agent as a witness to pick up my vehicle and a cashiers check for what my insurance already paid him, he had the nerve to tell me he would get me a "crayon" to sign paperwork. If I can save anybody after me the heartache of trying to deal with this person (I'll refrain from name calling) and his treatment of me then I've done my job. Beware! Brought my motor coach cargo door and wheel well panel into Coachwerx that were in my opinion beyond repair. Bob Peacock had one of his technicians fabricate foam core plywood skin panels that are very light, strong, and rigid. New aluminum edging was also fabricated. In the future I plan to have the remaining panels repaired by Coachwerxs as well. read more

My cousin backed into the side of my Roadtrek van and smashed the cargo hold as well as put a big dent in the side. This was going to be a difficult repair job as the cargo cover was not available from Roadtrek and would have to be fabricated. Also the striping was going to have to be repaired and as the van is a 1998 and the striping was faded on both sides. I took it to several repair places and was not confident in their ability to do the work to my satisfaction. Coachwerx was recommended to me at one point so I ended up taking it there. I was assured they could do a great job and they did. The cargo hold cover was fabricated in fiberglass and Bob did an excellent job of replicating the original striping.The van looks brand new again. Thanks Bob! read more

I just had my car fixed at Coachwerx a couple days ago and I highly recommend this auto shop! My car door had been hyperextended (pushed back in the opposite direction) to the point where the hinges were bent and the door wouldn't close, therefore I couldn't drive it. I had gotten a quote at a different body shop and they estimated it would be about 4K to replace the door. My car is a Honda Civic nothing fancy, 4K just seemed to be too much. So I took it to Bob at Coachwerx and he examined my car and confirmed I did indeed need to replace my whole door. Yikes! He explained all the parts that were damaged in the hyperextension so I completely understood what exactly needed to be replaced. I couldn't get my door replaced that night but also needed to be able to drive, Bob said he could get it to close and open safely, so I wouldn't be without a car and had more time to plan on getting the door replaced. Something the other bodyshops said was impossible. He went above and beyond and went to work on it right away, and I was able to drive my car home that same day. i own a 2008 Holiday Rambler Diesel Pusher and my tow vehicle is a 2001 ford focus. Bob Peacock and Coachwerx repaired the side of my RV following an accident . He repaired the RV and repainted that area as well as the top where gel coating deteriorated. He matched the paint so well that one could not know that it was damaged. He also repainted a good portion of my tow vehicle and matched it well with the color of the original . Both RV and tow vehicle look like brand new products. This is a long review but a worthy read. If I could deduct stars, I would. Our recent experience with Coachwerx was one of horrible quality of work and even worse customer service. In June of 2017, we took our class A there for a small insurance repair from minor damage to the rear. It took more than 4 months to get the rig back (not due to delays in the insurance process) and when it was returned, the job was still incomplete and unsatisfactory. The first time the work was "complete", we found missing screws on the tail lights, bubbles in the paint, clear coat over spray on the backup camera lens, the tail light was not functioning, and the lap sealant was missing on the roof from the rear ladder stanchions. Needless to say, we were not satisfied and Bob said he would fix it after he apologized for the poor workmanship his employees did. Fast forward months, Bob became increasingly hostile and irritated with not being able to finish the job and with losing money on it because he had to redo the work. We heard every excuse as to why the repair was not complete and why it was of poor quality. His paint guy is having personal issues, he doesn't have any good employees, he's too busy, he's doing the best he can but doesn't have time to do it all himself, etc, etc. Bob is full of excuses and complaints and fails to take any responsibility for his actions or pride in his business. The next time the work was "complete", we received a letter at 4pm stating that we needed to pick up the rig before he closed that day at 5pm or we would start incurring storage fees at $100/day. Keep in mind that this is after weeks of getting no response from Bob and his staff from numerous emails, texts and phone calls as well as months of waiting on the repair to be complete. Also, we were directly told that he would not stay open a minute past 5pm to accommodate our arrival that night. We live in East County but work in downtown San Diego so this posed an issue. We made it to Coachwerx at 4:59pm after dropping everything else to meet his unrealistic and arbitrary deadline. Upon arrival, we found that the ladder repair was not complete and the cost of the ladder was not refunded, the batteries were dead causing long term damage since the coach had not been plugged in, and the screen door had been broken by "someone" getting mad and slamming the door closed with the latch out. Please keep in mind that the rig arrived with damage to the rear only and it was nowhere near the front screen door. Bob grudgingly agreed to fix the door but said he would have to order the part. He said he would be in contact with us to bring the rig back for the repair of the damage he caused once the part arrived. We are now nearly a year later and have never received an apology and have not heard back from him at all, nor have we received the repair from the damage Bob caused as previously promised. Bottom-line, we will NEVER use Coachwerx again and we will NEVER recommend Coachwerx to anyone. Bob and his staff start out nice but they do not follow through on their commitments and they leave the customer to eat the costs of faulty and incomplete repairs. Bob lies and makes excuses until his customers are simply worn out from dealing with his ineptness. Do not think he is the only business in town that can offer repair services. The aggravation is definitely not worth it. read more

After being told that I would have to wait 2 months to get into the big RV dealers service departments I went to Coachwerx. I had a huge rubbing kind of squeak in my B class RV. Despite the best efforts none of my friends could find it. Bob found it within minutes. He and his staff had the squeaks 100% gone within minutes, literally. I would recommend Bob and his crew. Unfortunatly the great work they did went out the door when the owner of the company would not honer his word about one of his employees broke my satellite dish. I spent about $8k with him Bob Peacock(owner), The week prior from bringing my coach in the satellite worked fine. After three weeks at Coachwerx, I found it not working. I called Bob immediately and he suggested not to bring it to him, but take it to a specialty service Co. and he would take responsibility for it and send him the bill. I had it repaired at Camping World and was confirmed that someone on the roof shorted it out. The amount was about $525. I sent Bob all the information and proof of the problem. He now is reneging on his word. Shame on him. I have already sent him two clients that has paid him thousands of dollars for work done. Too Bad. For $500 he will lose way more than that!!! read more

We had our Titan Trailer fixed at Coachwerx and Bob, the owner did the worst job ever. As he not only did a very tacky job on the floor he lied to us about several things. He also way over charged my husband and I and on top of that sucked every penny out of our insurance company that he could. He's a very manipulative person and will do anything to get your business, whether that means hiding costs behind the insurance companies back or using left over material from another job he once did. $9000 later and we still didn't get what we wanted nor what we were promised.
