We love a good cup of coffee, but the atmosphere and vibe were the stars of the show. We took our toddlers there for a morning muffin and it was refreshing to see some American flags. Not only this, but the sign on the door said "No Pets Allowed (except service animals)." It was comforting to know that our kids were more welcome than the pets! We stopped by twice when we were visiting Homer. This is a decently sized establishment right in the middle of Homer on one of the main roads. They also have a drive through. We ordered a coffee and a chai tea. The coffee was good and the chai tea was amazing, I would highly recommend it. You can get it with or without whipped cream. The second time, we decided to dine in as you can sit inside as long as you socially distance. My brother ordered a breakfast veggie burrito and I got their carrot cake. The carrot cake was great, a large portion for $5. There are nuts and raisins inside, so if you don't like that, you've been warned. But it was 100% homemade. The quesadilla was different. The inside reminded me of an egg roll. My brother liked it, though. The only downside is that the quesadilla took a looooong time to cook. This could be because there were only two staff members and they had to juggle a lot of coffee orders, I'm not sure. But give their pastries a try, they all have love baked into them. read more

Absolutely life saving for travelers in a basically desolate town. With almost every restaurant being closed, we luckily stumbled upon this place when walking around aimlessly looking for food. The coffee was delicious, and the food hit the spot. Also surprising for how busy they were, we got our food and coffee extremely fast. The atmosphere was neutral and friendly. Before heading out of Homer for a full day of fishing, my husband and I stopped at Captain's Coffee for a cup of coffee and a little bite of breakfast. I ordered a pumpkin latte with oat milk and my husband ordered just a classic cup of coffee. We decided to split one of their breakfast burritos (since I wasn't too sure how my stomach was going to react to having a lot of food in it while being out on the water.) The pumpkin latte was absolutely delicious, plenty of pumpkin flavor without being overly sweet. And the breakfast burrito was the perfect amount of food to have in my stomach before fishing. A wonderful local coffee house with great-tasting coffee. If you are a local, you know where this coffee shop is. If you are a tourist from a cruise ship, I only recommend walking to this establishment if you like hiking as it will be about six miles either way. Is the coffee worth the walk? I walked all the way in from the cruise dock out on the spit just for this coffee, so I had high expectations! The latte small size has two shots (yea) and the coffee taste came through the milk beautifully! I also had a lovely wild berry muffin (yum yum)! I wish I had more time here because their special Seward Folly drink sounded awesome (blueberry vanilla latte and a great price for a 16 ounce). They roast their own beans on the premises and the coffee really is superior! Also if you need a souvenir, you can get coffee beans to take home. Plus friendly staff who get to know their customers. They also make their own sourdough bread on occasion -- it usually sells out -- and is just as good (sometimes better) than Two Sisters, which is also very good (but has done away with their indoor seating). read more

I am going to be moving into the area. I was so excited to find a cute little coffee shop that roasted their own beans. Now I know we are post covid and end of season, but you still are open and still using printed menus. When you order something and it comes out different...I asked for it to be remade...the owner/manager rolled her eyes and said "just give her a side of sauce" and brought it back out to me. This is the first coffee shop I went to in homer. I went When Covid was a bit more hot and heavy and nobody was vaccinated. None of the staff wore masks and nobody inside wore masks. But I was willing to come back if the coffee was good. Sadly, the beans and the espresso were both absolutely awful. The shots were overly bitter and thin (over extracted). My husband got me coffee again several months later and we had the same issue with the shots. We got a bag of the beans to take home and they were also not very good. For now, the espresso my husband makes at home is much better and I will stick to that. read more

Best coffee/tea in Homer and worth the stop. Coffee is fresh and they have beans for sale. They offer loose leaf teas and a decent amount of tea options and even have a London Fog in their menu that was fantastic. Quite a few places to sit and a parking lot. Service was very friendly and fast even though there was a line. They had a few pastry items in the case but I didn't try any. Good coffee and breakfast sandwich spot. It was busy the entire time we were there, and food was still coming out fast. We had the breakfast burrito, breakfast panini, and breakfast BLT. Everything was fresh and served piping hot. The burrito is grilled and comes with salsa on the side. The panini is a generous sandwich, but the bread is more reminiscent of standard sandwich bread than traditional focaccia. This is a great place to grab some good espresso or the coffee Drummond your choice. Ran into it by accident and made two stops during my weekend in Homer. Nice place to sit and chill, read or browse on your laptop while sipping beautifully tasty hot brew. Their breakfast paninis are also a great addition to your joe. It tastes like the beans are seconds from being burned, yet the coffee is consistently weak as if they offset the overdone bit by cutting back on the amount used. We are two east coast coffee snobs from NYC and Boston and we LOVED this place so much that we came here every morning on our trip. Their coffee is on point, even better than some specialty shops back east. Their London Fog (Earl grey tea with steamed milk and vanilla/ lavender syrup) is a must try, the best we've ever had! Staff is sweet and service was quick and efficient. Especially during COVID and it being October (off season) when most places are closed, they stayed open.
