The menu selection looked good and We ordered fish & chips, seafood platter, clam crowder, halibut sandwich. The fish used was fresh, but the oil used for frying was STALE. Best clam chowder in Homer. Period. The halibut & chips and their cod & chips were good too. Very fresh. Fried perfectly. I prefer a batter coating but their panko crumb coating was good. I wasn't able to finish my meal on either visit - you get a generous serving for the money. Of course one can still order some clam chowder to go and (carefully, slowly) warm it up the next day to enjoy. The dine in part is still closed so orders are taken at the drive through window. I *think* there is a "1" beside the window taking orders and then you drive to the 3rd window and wait for them to bring you the order. There are outdoor picnic tables if you want to enjoy your delicious meal outside too. This unassuming little place delivers the goods and can be recommended without hesitation. read more

Hands down, my favorite food experience in Alaska. Surprisingly, this place was the clear winner among the different dine-in restaurants we visited. My wife and I probably ate more fish and chips than we normally would in any given week, but Lighthouse's halibut is the flakiest and juiciest, and fried with the right amount of crispiness and thickness. There are a lot of places that will overfry. We also tried the captain's platter, where again, we had the largest and juiciest prawns and calamari, fried to the perfect level. Many other places also overlook the "chips" and lead us to leave a lot left over because of the staleness of their fries, but Lighthouse is different and has delicious steak fries. We missed out on the clam chowder since we drove through right before close and they had run out, so we may have missed out on the best part! read more

Have been there only once, but I will be going back. Got the Cod and Chips. Four (4) nice pieces of crunchy cod with good crispy fries. They KNOW how to fry!!! Thier tarter sauce is very good too, mayonaisy and with a nice tang to it. It was very satisfying. I will only be here a few more weeks, but will want to try them again before I go. Went through the drive through as the restaurant was t open. There were a ton of things I had wanted to try but we split the fish (halibut) sandwich and the pulled pork. The pulled pork had a bit of spice to it. I loved the fish but Both were delicious. Visited Homer last week and really wanted to try the halibut fish and chips. Can't say too much about it, tasted more like cod than halibut, maybe over cooked alittle. The coating was Panko which I've always had my fish coated with a flour batter. Fries were good, didn't get any coleslaw with the dinner, guess that was extra. Had to order malt vinegar, paid $.25 a 2 oz serving. Usually these restaurants have little packets of the vinegar but here they put it in little cups. Earlier in the day for lunch I had a cup of clam chowder which was delicious; thick cream sauce chock full of potatoes, chopped clams and good spices. Served with a small cup of oyster crackers...overall much better than the fish and chips. read more

Food prices are comparable to others around BUT the food is so amazing it ends up being a total steal for what you get. Everyone one sitting around the restaraunt was openly commenting in amazement at how perfect the food was.... haha it was kind of surreal in all honesty. Calamari was done perfect. Fish and chips was spot on. Fries were to die for. Even the side salads were way above average. Honestly can not remember the last time I ate somewhere with such a perfectly done meal. Waitress was incredibly kind and fantastic. She came out repeatedly to check on us with drinks and heads up on the food being made (mind you, it was not even a long wait). Very comfortable environment. She was genuine, joked with us, kept a close eye on our drinks, quick to fix a missing sauce and all without being overbearing. Lovely waitress, wish all restaraunts could have people as great as her. Want to return just for the service haha. Can't wait to return and repeat the experience. read more

Wanted some clam chowder in homer and found this place. Be prepared to wait. It's drive through only and we waited about 15 minutes to order and 5 minutes to get the food. The clam chowder was slightly above average but the burger and fries were top notch. Overall I think the restaurant is decent but not amazing. read more

We stopped here on our way out of Homer because we had tried to find outdoor seating on the spit but couldn't. Thank goodness that hadn't worked out and we ate here instead! The BEST fish & chips. One of our party has been living in Alaska for 40 summers and said it was the best he's ever had there. The haddock was so tender inside and crunchy outside - exactly as it should be. Went to visit on a Sunday after our daughters hockey practice, we were all super hungry! Arrived right when they opened, seat yourself sign - there were four of us (2 adults, 2 children). We saw the board with all the specials listed - the list was awesome! We ordered the rib sandwich and sweet potato fries for the kids to share and then I ordered the goat cheese and bacon jam burger and my husband got the brisket sandwich. Best fries we've had since moving to Homer. My burger was incredible and I really hope they bring that special back. The kids demolished their fries and loved the rib meat sandwich. Thankfully they're small kiddos, so we enjoyed what they couldn't finish. My husband enjoyed his brisket sandwich and we both agreed that we'd found a new place to start visiting regularly. The food is good here. I am a little disappointed the you can not do a sit down dinner here. They have beautiful views from their restaurant. We got our food to go and ate it in the car right in the parking lot. I had the brisket sandwich and my sister had the fish and chips. The brisket was tender and good. The cheese curds are home made and beer battered and were very tasty. The bacon cheeseburger was served with thick cut, very tasty bacon, plenty of cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. We found this place while driving around to outside of town looking for eagles. Decided to give this place a try based on yelp reviews and wanted to try a different place that makes halibut dinners. We got teo halibut dinners and i got a smoked salmon chowder for desert. All the meals were very good. Only thing the halibut dinners came with three small pieces. Had planned on eating down on the spit until we ran into a nice local gentleman who recommended we go to the Lighthouse up on the highway. Glad we took his advice. We ordered the halibut and chips and the smoked brisket. Both delicious and large portions. The breading on the fish was light and tasty and the halibut was cooked perfectly. The Smokey flavour on the brisket was very good and I loved that the bbq sauce came on the side so you could have as much or as little as you like. The slaw that came with it was very good but I would have liked a little more. Ordered the blueberry crumble for dessert and again it was delicious but small. Service was super friendly. Views were great. They even have binoculars out so you can watch the eagles and otters. Definitely some of the best fish and chips I've eaten on our Alaskan Adventure. read more

Amazing food. Everything was on point! Rueben was made with corned beef on site, brisket was delicious (and I'm from Texas), hamburgers hand formed, and sauces were homemade.
