Do not recommend Coast Wholesale appliance in Nanaimo BC. Full appliance package purchased in 09/11/2025 estimated deliver was 26/01/2026, we still do not have our full package, range is another two months out, and the fridge was sent with no pairing kit 6 months later no range and no fridge, I recommend going doing business elsewhere. I purchased a new fridge in September. It arrived at Coast appliances approximately 5 weeks late. I understand they can't always control shipping. My fridge was delivered and was damaged in two places on the back. The delivery man took pictures, as did I. The next day I emailed the photos to the salesman. There was also significant damage to my wall. Within hours Strong man delivery contacted me and had someone come and assess. Repairs to my wall began immediately. I didn't get a response from salesman at Coast Appliances.... So I sent another e mail....no response....so I sent one to Trevor the manager....no response....so I left the manager a voicemail and no response. So I highly highly recommend Strongman Moving. Unbelievably poor service. We bought a dryer and when plugged in we realized it was not functional, made a major rubbing noise. Coast said that even though it was defective thet could not replace it and would send repair technician. The technician agreed the machine was faulty and said they would need to replace drum and slides and side panel, all before we even did a load! Fast forward 6 months. Dryer is still not fixed and no one at Coast will return my calls.i have been as polite as possible but this has been my worst experience with a purchase ever. I would strongly recommend shopping somewhere that cares about their customer base. read more

Do not buy anything from coast appliances. Their service is terrible, they brought a fridge that didn't work, and the wrong dishwasher which they promptly took away and never replaced. No one gets back to you when you call and if you get agitated because of their rudeness and ineffectuality, they hang up without ever trying to solve the problem. i made a mistake of going there, and i will never do that again nor recommend them. it's a horrible business which delivers irritation and ineptitude. stay away. read more

I have been dealing with Coast Appliances in Nanaimo since mid October. They are not returning calls and are giving me the run around. I bought a propane fridge and stove from them and the fridge was damaged and would not run. They said that because I (foolishly) signed a form when my son and I picked it up (I was not given a copy of that form) that I agreed that the appliances were not damaged. The fridge was. The gas fitter even went to the store and explained what he found. Still no action. Don't you think that a reputable, honest company would stand behind their products and customers? They are saying that I may have damaged the fridge. I DID NOT! So I guess this is a warning to anyone - Don't buy from Coast Appliances. read more

They do not support the products they sell. If something is delivered malfunctioning (in this case our brand new fridge) they do nothing to resolve the issue. It is up to you to deal with it through the manufacturer. Apparently if we wanted to return our brand new malfunctioning fridge, we'd have to pay a restocking fee. Our range hood was about a three month wait. Every time I would contact them to find out where it was, I was told they were getting one shipped from Burnaby or Calgary for us that week and then we wouldn't hear anything from them until the next time I emailed to find out what was going on. My partner left a message for the manager and we have yet to hear back from anyone. This company needs some desperate help in the customer service department. read more

Believe the other reviews and BUY ELSEWHERE from a company that isn't so shortsighted about getting your repeat business! We bought a Fridgidaire washer dryer combo for renters moving in October. We wanted brand new as appliances just don't last long anymore and we did not want issues. We also paid for a 5 year extended warranty and delivery so total for us was around 1500. for a reduced floor model with a small dent. From day one the washer did not work properly and its been a major run around to get repairs done. Today is January 8th and the repair person has left with it "maybe" fixed. We have 3 rentals and this was the first (and last) ever dealing with this company. Fancy showroom but the crappiest customer service ever!!! read more

I have had enough! fridge had to be changed so many times and it was a major fight with them to get things right you would not believe to what level it got to........now the last fridge we bought has an issue with the water dispenser, it stopped working. I am not even bothering with these guys anymore, they win! Coast Appliance sold me an Electrolux washing machine that had five defective parts including the motor and pump. I was unable to use it They said since it was under warranty with Electrolux, and fixable They would call for repairs, which they did not. I had to call Electrolux It took a month for a repairman to tell me all the things that were wrong with it. Still no repairs. Coast Appliance will not go to bat for you with Electrolux and despite having this brand new machine for three months, I can not wash. You would think that they would be interested in supporting their buyers. I spent over $1000 for a new washer and between Coast Appliance's refusal to intercede with Electrolux and Electrolux's defective junk which they will not replace, I do not have a washer that works. read more

We are a young family with a budget always in mind and recently purchased a major appliance from these crooks ! We where told that the unit was on sale but a good performer and our family would be quite happy with our purchase . So we bought the dishwasher. Well this was quite the contrary ; The unit { MAYTAG } was a terrible appliance and just did not work right . Dirty wet dishes , will not work in our busy house hold. So we called the store and spoke to the appliance manager .We told her our dilemma and said that we would be happy to return our newly purchased appliance and put additional money toward a unit that actually worked . The worst customer service ever! I bought five appliances and they came in four deliveries over a period of five weeks. Washer, dryer and fridge promised first. The fridge was not on the truck. No explanation was given. Installer was rude and complained loudly about having to remove a wall mounted dryer that was quite high. I had advised my sales rep Carey that the dryer was really high a total of three times. I paid a fair sum of money for delivery and install of the appliances. When I asked if the steam feature on my dryer was hooked up I was told no one uses that feature. I insisted that it be provided since I had paid for it. I then advised Coast to find someone else to deliver the remaining appliances because I wouldn't have that man in my house ever again. Dishwasher delivered by installer who had difficulty turning off the water supply under my sink. He told me to call a plumber and left leaving the dishwasher in my dining room. My range sits 1/2" higher at the front than the back and my fridge is so unbalanced that the door swings open to the max unless I hold on to it. I will never shop Coast again. I sure do miss Sears. read more

Coast Appliance Nanaimo - terrible customer service! They phoned Friday afternoon to let us know our fridge would be delivered Saturday between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. - waited around in an empty house (moving to Parksville BC) for the fridge to show up - NOTHING SHOWED UP. We tried to phone them at 5 p.m. to confirm the delivery was coming but they were closed. Had to stay overnight in an empty house to return to Coast Appliances Sunday to report that the fridge didn't show up and after checking, apparently they were "out" of the fridges!! No courtesy phone call to say they didn't have a fridge to deliver - instead they phoned the day before to say the fridge would be delivered the next day! The only thing they offered us was a "sorry guys" and our money back. No offer of another fridge to replace the one that they didn't have, no offer of anything, just "sorry guys". A wasted day/evening in an empty house waiting for a delivery that never came on a weekend where we had alot to do before going back to work on Monday. Is the customer's time worth nothing to these people??? Obviously they are busy enough with contractors to not give a damn about regular customers. Horrible customer service! read more

We spent $17000 on Jenn-air appliances, supposedly top of the range, and when there was a problem with our microwave/double oven, we called them out several times under the Jennair 12 mth warranty and latterly under Coasts extended warranty which we paid extra for, and still we are having problems with temperatures. It totally fails if we try to use the two ovens at once. They now tell us that the fault we are experiencing is perfectly normal!!!! B--- S---, they do not want to know-the appliance is not fit for purpose. They will do or say anything to put you off. What a total waste of money. Do yourselves a favour-go to Sears. read more

We purchased a Panasonic microwave from coast in 2012 and while reheating my coffee there was a bit of a buzz sound and then it stopped going. I called coast wholesale where I bought it and was told that it had an over counter exchange. they ordered in a replacement and I was called to bring the old down and exchange for a new one. lady at the front counter took care of everything, made it very easy! not happy with the fact the microwave quit after less than 2 years but very happy with the quick and easy exchange with coast, thank you! read more
