We r vacationing from out of town (Brookings Oregon) & my tail lights went out, than my inner tail lights go out (Subaru's I guess go through lights more than other vehicles) went in asked Ryan a question and he goes out to my vehicle to see what lights I am talking about, gets a tool and changes all of my lights for me. The family and I were on a road trip from WA through Oregon and visiting the Redwoods. My Durango's alternator went out near Gasquet (20+ miles from Brookings) and we had no cell coverage in that area. My roadside service picked up my truck (and was bringing it to Coast) but would not pick up my family. We were stranded, unable to user Uber, and no taxi services would go out to Gasquet. When Dan at Coast Auto Center found this out he sent Gary to drive out to pick us up and bring us to the shop. He arrived within 30 minutes and brought us to Brookings. They got us in a rental SUV at a very great rate ($30 a day) and got us back on our way very quickly. Our road trip to the redwoods was saved! The customer service was outstanding, but that is not all. They knew were kind of in a jam and that we needed the Durango fairly quickly. They could have over-charged us and there is not much we could have done about it, but they did not. The repair was done within 48 hours and the price was extremely good. By far, the best service center in southern Oregon and/or northern California for Chevy, Ford, Dodge..Service manager is Carl Rust and he was able to do warranty work on my 2017 Zion Roadtrek where the nearest Dodge dealer was over 100 miles and 1 pass away...Once we realized that Chrysler had mislabeled the body control module for my Dodge chassis, he and his crew worked tirelessly to get me the correct module. I was kept informed of the progress and when my Zion was repaired, Carl sat in the shotgun seat while we made sure all systems were functioning...I am hoping that Coast Auto will be chosen to sell the promaster Dodge so that i can continue using them for my warranty work..Hwy 101 needs a competent dealer and service area for our promasters... read more

Don't get anything electrical done in this place!! Have had to go back numerous times, because the electrician is lazy and can't seem to do his job, if he is ever there. Seems he's never there. Went to have my fog light fixed. Was told by him he just didn't want to do it. The communication in this place sucks. If you call your told one thing, call back again and told something different. I live in a RV park and am not allowed to work on my own car. It's very frustrating when you know what your talking about and have people who don't have the intelligence or work ethic trying to tell you some bullshit, that you know is bullshit!! I've tried to give them several chances, but no more. My father has been working on cars since I was young. He is a excellent mechanic, and he told me unfortunately you will meet people like this. I had a coupon from my Jeep app. It was for either an oil change or a package of several oil changes, I'm not sure but I was willing either way. They couldn't figure it out in the moment and said they'd call me back once they have, so I drove all the way back to Crescent City. It has been several days now and nobody has returned my calls. They either forgot about me (which doesn't exactly make me feel valued) or they didn't want to do it (which is ridiculous). read more

I have had nothing but positive experiences with their service department. They have accurate estimates and quick repair. Last week the manager rode with me because I mistakenly thought I had a belt issue in my 89 pickup after getting all the belts upgraded. It was a manual window that wasn't rolled up all the way. He could have charged me to repair something but was very kind and honest. Where do you find that, anymore? (Edit) Since this review, I've been back and want to add that this service department is outstanding. They are very knowledgeable and quick. The estimates are dead on! They ran into a problem that was hidden behind a tire and still kept the estimated shop time, even though it took longer! read more

My car needed a new water pump, it was going to be covered under warranty and it took Coast 5months to replace it. I took my car in October 2020 and they told me the part is back ordered because of COVID and wouldn't be in until December and my car was inoperable. I was patient and said okay. December came and I hadn't heard any updates. Second week of December I called to get an update and see if December was still accurate. They told me there was movement on the part and that they were expecting it to arrive the following week. I was excited because 3 months without a car is hard! Well December came and left and still no update. I called in January to get an update. Nobody knew anything, they sent me to voicemail. I left a voicemail and didn't hear back. About two weeks later I called back and they sent me straight to a voicemail and I left multiple numbers to call me back at. Surprise, no call back. I called again and they transferred me right to a voicemail. So I called right back and let them know I wanted to speak to someone and not a voicemail and they told me there was no update on the part, it was in high demand and back ordered all over the US and nobody has the part and they are all waiting for it. I ended up emailing the service department manager and the general manager. The service department manager got back to me and gave me the go around just like his crew and said he didn't think they would get the part in even by February. I asked if they could check with other auto repair places and see if they had the part, he said nobody has it. The general manager responded with "you will hear back from us tomorrow" and even underlined will and I NEVER DID. I called Lithia in Medford Oregon where I purchased my car and they said they had the part and that coast was just giving me the go around. He suggested I contact Chrysler. So, I did. Best thing I ever did and they told me they wished I would have contacted them sooner and said it should not have taken this long for coast to fix my car. Chrysler ended up expediting the part for me (which Coast tried to take credit for and told me they got ahold of a part) AND cut me a check because they never offered me a rental and I had to go without a car for 5 months paying my monthly payment, my car insurance, and extended warranty for a car that just sat there. Chrysler even said Coast should have contacted them and should have informed me that I could contact them as well. Coast never called me with updates until Chrysler got involved and called them directly. Once my part was in they even told me I wouldn't be on the schedule until another week. My car had sat there for so long and they still wanted to make me wait. I will NEVER be taking my car to Coast again. They lack in customer service. 5 months without a car, are you kidding me?! They were never apologetic or sympathetic at all and I was even nice and patient with them. All of my family, friends, and coworkers said they would never give them business anymore either. read more

The best experience I have ever had at any dealership/ auto repair place. I had talked to another dealership about some error codes and they quoted over a thousand dollars and Coast Auto center said let's take it one step at a time for my 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. They fixed everything along with an oil change, fuel filters change all for $422.00. They are truly straight up good guys and would not hesitate going back there again. I purchased a 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie from them brand new in 2017, it had a bunch of cobweb scratches and a dent on it that they promised to fix and after months of trying to get them to fix them the GM of coast auto blocked me from contacting him and I know that because I tried to contact him from my work email and it worked... two years later and finally getting ahold of him again over ANOTHER issue and I brought up to him the damage to the truck and he says it is unreasonable to fix it now and he would have fixed it then if I would have contacted him... and I responded with the fact it's unreasonable to tell me that because I tried for months to get someone to fix that truck and told him I would Contact Mopar and and have them help me, and he blocked me again! So I did contact Mopar and they contacted them while I was on the phone with them and they told Mopar absolutely not will they fix the truck... so I contacted the GM of lithia in Medford and they asked me to bring the truck to them so they could look at it... so I did and they were shocked by how bad the truck was, and the GM apologized and told me he would be talking to the Regional manager about this and that the service manager said it clearly was Coasts fault and told him the it was caused by someone using the wrong equipment to buff the truck... so after the manager talked they came out and apologized again, the District manager over all of the Chrysler dealerships including coast auto was not very happy and told me how sorry he was, I showed them all my conversations with the GM at coast, so I don't know what will happen with that... but lithia was amazing! They fixed the dent and made my truck look brand new and they did it at NO cost to me! I didn't even buy my truck there! And they let me use a brand new Chrysler 300 to run around medford in while they worked on the truck... it took two whole days but it finally looks brand new! And the mechanics don't know what they are doing... if coast auto works on your vehicle, I'd recommend taking it to a real mechanic after to make sure they did it right... that's what I have to do now... read more

coast auto group is not a good place to have a car or truck fixed!, they did my 2005 chev p.u. for oil leaks, they called me many times saying it needed another part for a tune of $1000.00, and after all that it was sent out 1.5 GALLONS low on anti-freeze. read more
