This dental office is a huge scam. They don't care about the patient only the money. I came in with pain in my lower wisdom tooth. I got a treatment plan that stated I have to get both my top wisdom teeth pulled before I can get the bottom one pulled. That first appointment would have been next week she said healing process is 3wks-month. Then I can schedule the bottom one. So basically it would have took over a month to even deal with the tooth that's causing pain. This doesn't make any sense also I wasn't even prescribed any pain medicine so I would have had to deal with my pain on my own. The only reason I am giving a 3 star is to acknowledge the nice front desk staff and the hygienist, Ebony. First of all, I am an nurse and a long time patient of dental services. I know what typically goes on in a general dental visit. My disappointment began when I called to make an appointment as a new patient. I specifically asked for Dr Reynolds, who was listed as a dentist there based on my insurance website. My appointment was set up with no issues. A few days later, I arrived at my appointment, introduced myself, stating I was there to see Dr Reynolds. I was told at that time that Dr Reynolds is no longer at that office. I told the friendly dental hygienist, Ebony, and shared that I specifically asked for Dr Reynolds when I made the appointment and the person on the phone did not inform me that she is no longer there. She just said ok to my request and proceeded to take my basic information. Ebony responded with an apology, stating Dr Reynolds was great but does not work there anymore. Because I took off work for this appointment, I moved forward with the visit. I shared with Ebony that I was there to get established as a new patient, and would like to get a full set of xrays, eval and cleaning. Ebony proceeded with the xrays. The dentist, Dr Glass, came in stood behind me, looking at the computer, and introduced herself. I turned around to her to ask her twice what her name was due to her heavy accent. She then moved forward in my view so that she can introduce herself again. She did not take anytime to ask me any questions as a new patient, review my medical or dental history nor tell me the plan for the day. She began to probe my gums to obtain the measurements. She was not gentle. I have had this done many many times, even with sensitivity and it was never this uncomfortable. Dr Glass then left the room stating she will put together a treatment plan. I sat for awhile only to be greeted by the hygienist again, who explained the list of charges that my treatment plan requires. It felt like a business transaction vs having the dentist return to go over my xrays and her findings and then proceed to discuss a treatment plan. I then asked the hygienist about getting the general cleaning today to get me started. She said no, stating, if the dentist needs to do a deep cleaning, she won't do a general cleaning. In the past, I was offered the option to receive a general cleaning and continue to monitor before advancing to a deep clean and my gums actually improved. I was furious with my experience. A day off of work, no cleaning and no conversation with the dentist. Then to top things off, I was asked, while still in the chair, to do a google review. Ironically, in reading the past reviews, I see at least one other former patient (Shashi) had the exact same complaint from 2024. I will be requesting my records to be transferred to the dentist office I originally requested where I know the type of service, and most importantly, communication that I deserve, will be given. read more

I must say I was quite nervous when I arrived, being a 31 year old woman. I've never even been stung by a bee, let alone had a tooth pulled. Today though I was determined to rid myself of the pain and thankfully I had the warmest welcome and the best interaction with all the ladies. From walking in and being greeted to going to the back and getting in the chair. Long story, not so long. I highly recommend you make that appointment. Very courteous and above all professional. I came in for a cleaning (to the Lilburn Location 3050 and I was incredibly disappointed with my visit here. For one, the place was absolutely filthy! I wasn't sure if there was blood on the ground or what. Then the dentist (couldn't understand what she said her last name was but think it was Doc. Glass) came in and started taking measurements in my mouth only to stop halfway, look at the probe she was using and quickly discard it. I asked what was wrong and she wouldn't say. Am wondering if it was dirty or what. She was incredibly rough and not gentle at all. Then, she proceeded to tell me that I needed a treatment plan and if I didn't agree to it (which involved a deep cleaning with anesthesia) right then, I would NOT get a cleaning. So I walked out! A dear friend visited this location, and even though he raved about his experience, I witnessed unacceptable behavior. I was with my friend (at his home) who was on the phone with this office, saying how much pain he was in. He was in tears from the pain and the person who was talking with him was laughing. Who does that? Someone who is in terrible pain, on the verge of breaking down and their response is laughing. He does not remember it, as he passed out from the pain. An explanation is required as to why someone feels laughing is an acceptable response to someone who is asking for help with extreme pain. read more

I agree with a previous review - Coast Dental is a scam. After being assigned to this location by my new insurance, I called to schedule a cleaning. I was offered something on the call and told they were running a special. This should have been a clue. Upon arrival, a number of painful scans were taken of my mouth. The lady made me gag several times. I had tears in my eyes. She shoved the apparatus at my face hard several times and cut me above the eye. Then the physician came in to give me a consultation and discuss a payment plan. I asked when my teeth would be cleaned and was told that person was off today and I could schedule a cleaning on a different day. At checkout, I was told I had to pay $73 for 2 things that weren't covered by my insurance. I paid and left with no cleaning. Later in the day I received a call that, in addition to a cleaning, I needed a service that cost $110 which would be charged at the cleaning and was not covered by insurance. My teeth have been perfect my entire life. Dentists are constantly telling me how amazing they are. I cancelled the cleaning and filed a claim with the insurance company. read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS DENTIST OR THIS OFFICE. I came here last week as a new patient, and if I could leave zero stars I would. I can provide proof as to how CRIMINAL this practice is, and I am even considering legal action. Upon my arrival, I was booked for a new patient consultation and a cleaning. I arrived at 11:30. The "hygienist" took me back and took nearly 20 pictures/x-rays in the most painful fashion I have ever been given dental x-rays in my entire life. Every time she put the thing in my mouth to bite on to take photos, it was places in a painful place where it was either jabbing the roof of my mouth or underneath my tongue. When I told her it was painful, her response was simply, "it only takes a minute, sir..." and that was that. After she took her million photos, she told me she had to step away and would be right back. I assumed I was getting ready to start my cleaning, as this is normal practice for literally every other dental office I have ever been to. I waited in the very small, sketchy-looking room for over 30 minutes and I could hear several people walking past the room I was in with no regard to my time. (I get that visiting the dentist is a process, however we all have jobs to get back to...) After what felt like forever, she came back in with the dentist, a Dr. Magdalena Glass. She reviewed my films, proceeded to check my mouth and jab at my gums unnecessarily, making me bleed. After that horrific exam, she told me I had at least 2-3 cracked teeth which needed crowns ASAP, and no less than 5 cavities that needed to be filled. She also said that I had severe gum disease and damage, so that would need to be remedied, as well. She told me I needed a two-part deep cleaning, and that it appeared as though I'd not been to the dentist in many years, and I needed to take better care of my mouth. (It had been less than a year since I had a deep-cleaning and two wisdom teeth extracted - so I'd definitely been under dental care.) She told me to wait just a few minutes, and she'd come back with my treatment plan. Fast forward another 20 minute wait, she comes back in with the "hygienist" (both of them seemingly having little to no experience working with patients whatsoever), and went over a treatment plan that included said crowns, fillings, deep cleanings, and expansive gum treatment, at a post-insurance cost of nearly $3000. I was in complete disbelief that in just less than a year, my mouth would be in such bad shape after having been given a clean bill of health from my previous dentist AND oral surgeon. She told me they'd start 1/2 of the deep cleanings that day, and I'd have to schedule another one for a couple of days later. At this point, it was already 1:00, and I was late for an appointment with a client of mine. I told them I'd come back or call to reschedule...but I already knew I'd never be stepping foot back in that office because they have no clue what they're doing, they're liars, they're criminals, and they're just trying to suck money out of people who might not have any sense to know any better. When I went to check out, I was being charged an additional $45 for an oral cancer screening, one that I was NEVER told I would be getting, much less paying extra for because "insurance doesn't cover that." I was already so upset and feeling so violated of my trust and my time, that I just paid it and ran out of there as fast as I could. Fast forward to today - I went to the dentist I used to go to for many years while I was growing up. They did more X-Rays, cleaned my teeth (beautifully, might I add), and the doctor did another comprehensive exam. GUESS WHAT?! Not a single cavity or cracked tooth... OH! And no gum disease or need for a deep cleaning, either. I AM WARNING ANY HUMAN THAT CAN READ - DO NOT TRUST THIS COAST DENTAL, OR ANY COAST DENTAL. THEY ARE INEXPERIENCED CRIMINALS THAT WILL PERFORM UNNECESSARY TREATMENTS AND PROCEDURES ON YOU AND RUIN YOUR TEETH JUST TO MAKE MORE MONEY. THIS SHOULD AND WILL BE INVESTIGATED. This is the absolute worst Dental Office. This office overcharged my teen son back in 2021 for additional services that were unnecessary. After a long back and forth, they finally admitted to it and agreed to issue a refund. It's been well over a year now and I'm still to receive my refund. I've called numerous times to find out the status and I'm told that it's Corporate's fault. I will be reporting them to the Georgia Board of Dentistry for their unprofessional conduct and lack of quality of care. They will make sure they CLEAN your pockets! I made an appointment with this practice in Lilburn for routine dental cleaning. I was told that the hygienist is only there on a Mon and Friday. Due to my work schedule I was only able to make appt on Tue and was told that the dentist would do the cleaning. So I arrived on time and a lady took an OPG X-ray which was not covered by my insurance and cost me 23$. Oral cancer screening was around 89$ which I declined as I didnt have any risk factors. I agreed and signed to the above and proceeded to get the X-rays. I had to have never ending series of X-rays ( around 20) which I have never had in any other dental practice. Agree with some above comments and I too had the experience of having a gag reaction with insertion of X-ray device. I was told that I had 3 cavities which needed root canal treatment and a crown. I was only convinced of 1 needing treatment looking at the X-rays but should agree that the doctor was clear in showing me the cavities. I agreed and said I would like to have one of them done. The doctor worked out a treatment plan and gave me an estimate of 600+$ for treatment of 1 tooth. I was asked to come back the next day for cleaning. When I came for cleaning I was asked about when I would like to schedule my treatment and I declined it as I knew there moto was to extract money and I wanted a second opinion. Later the doctor walked in a did a gum assessment for my cleaning and recorded some numbers and was told that they would get back to me with a treatment plan. Was poked several times with a sharp object which I had never experienced in any other previous encounters.The hygienist came back with paper in her hand and said I had deep pockets for cleaning and it had to be done in 2 settings and showed me a bill on 400+ dollars. I told them that this has never happened in any of my previous encounters with a dentist office and had always had a cleaning for free. I was told this was the only way it can be done as I had deep pockets in most of my teeth. Was very frustrated at this point and just left the office. Had I know about this I would have never had those X-rays which is a lot of radiation ( around 21 X-rays ). Their main motto is to see how best to clean up your pocket so that they can acheive their financial goals. I wish I had read the above reviews before I visited. I'd definitely have to agree to every single scam comment about this office. TRUST ME, it's 100% true. I went here yesterday and after my X-ray, I was informed a Oral cancer and PANO exam would be out of pocket and not covered by my insurance which I've never had to pay for any service in the past from previous dental offices. To start, my appointment was at 1pm and I arrived twenty minutes early. After sitting in the back waiting to get my teeth cleaned I realized it was 10 minutes to 3pm so NO they don't care about your time. The doctor came in $317.15 worth of things she claim I need in which I knew it was a lie because I always get compliments on my great teeth care and I told her I wasn't aware I had to pay anything as I only came in for a cleaning. Next, the hygienist give me two more pieces of paper with $191.99 and another for $85 on it stating the doctor informed her that this was the only type cleaning I could get and insurance doesn't cover it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So, I pay monthly insurance all to have to pay for cleaning which I've never had to pay for before. Then she tried to pressure me in applying for a care credit card when I told her I didn't have $500 for treatment. I politely, removed the paper from around my neck myself and left. She tried to schedule me an appointment for that treatment but i knew good well I will never ever go back again. I was greeted by Debra who was very nice and very helpful when I got there and even when I made my appointment over the phone. I'm actually new to doing these types of things on my own dealing with insurance and everything and she was very helpful and patient. The first person I met was Erica who is a complete doll! She gave me tips on what I should be doing concerning my teeth while she was giving me my xrays. Carlos who is the Hygienist was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel as comfortable as possible. He explained things thoroughly as well at Dr. Thomas who was the Dentist. I've only gotten my deep cleaning so far,but I'm confident that as I keep going to get my work done that everything will run smoothly. My deep cleaning was great! I thought it would be bad and hurt a lot, but it did not at all! The worst part is when they numb your mouth,but that's it. Overall a great dental experience and I've found my dentist office for sure :) ** One person I wanted to highlight was Erika! This was the Greatest experience that I have ever had at a dentist. For years I have been sooooo Desperatly afraid of the pain that is associated with dental procedure that I preferred to just listen to my wife nagg me about it before I endured that type of possible pain. I had a family reunion comingt up and found a hole in one of my back teeth so I decided to go and get it taken out so that I could at least eat at the family reunion. When I got the X-ray they showed me that I had an infection in my gums and that I needed four, Yes (04), roots taken out. After seeing the X-rays, I decided that it was time to get my Dental game in order, so I agreed and we set up an appointment. When I came for the appointment, I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. The procedure was quick and the pain was minimal!!! I was given prescriptions for antibiotics and pain relievers, which I got filled next door at the Krogers, and went on my way. The next day, one of the incisions had already closed up. The family reunion was three days away. By the time that we went to the family reunion, my gums were a little tender, but I was able to eat like the greedy person that I am. The staff was very personable and that is exactly what a person need when in fear of pain for a procedure. Now I know that some people may not like their dental staff being personable and friendly, but it was EXACTLEY what I look for in anything medical. I like feeling that I can relate to someone that is going to be conducting a procedure on me. I do not want someone that is Snoody or Smug just because they have a degree in something and look at their patients as just a procedure. THIS WAS THE BEST DENTAL EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. I went to Coast Dental on Tuesday July 28, 2015 and it was the best experience I have had in years! Everyone at the front office was nice and joyful and very helpful! The hygienist Carlos was wonderful! As he cleaned my teeth he explained to me what he was doing and what was going on in my mouth. I also did not experience any pain at all while he was cleaning my teeth. Dr. Thomas was also wonderful! He explained afterwards in detail what I needed to do and what probably was going to be needed to get done with my teeth. Everyone in the office was just amazing! STAY AWAY, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.... I went in for a crown on a back tooth. My first issue was, the temporary they put on fell out the same day. I'd already wasted 4 hrs. in their office so I told them I'd just wait until the permanent crown came in. Also during this process the assistant was so disinterested in what was going on she would fail to suction and I felt like i was drowning in my own spit. Once the permanent crown came in I went in to have it put on and after the assistants multiple attempts to place it properly failed, I demanded the Dentist come in and take care of it. The final straw was when I got the explanation of benefits from my insurance carrier and realized they had overcharged me. I called to question one item that hadn't been billed and to find out when I could expect my refund and had the displeasure and total frustration of speaki to Debra. So unprofessional and unhelpful. She refused to advise how or if they would return and overpayment and when questioned about the charge she was very evasive and it too 10 minutes of questioning to get her to say what the charge was for. DO NOT GO HERE, or it appears to any of the Coast Dental offices. I can't warn you enough. I was just speaking to a friend about my frustration only to find out she used them for a crown and after 2 years is having to have oral surgery because they did such a hack job. read more
