Never made it to the chair, office, hallways, and bathroom's were nasty. Gas station nasty.

I woke up with excruciating tooth pain at 4am on a Friday morning. I googled emergency dentistry and Coast Dental popped up. I used the chat feature and secured an appointment for 10am that same morning. When I arrived to the office, I was immediately greeted by Danielle and waited no more than 5 minutes before being called to the back. I was greeted by Dr. H's assistant, Shay, who has great patient relation skills. I was handled with care and saw Dr. H shortly after. The doctor was kind and gentle with his exam and I felt like my issue mattered and the team all cared about relieving the pain I was in. To take it a step further, I had a little prescription mixup with the pharmacy and I called the dentist office for help. Erica stayed on the phone with me until the pharmacist got my prescription filled. I needed another prescription filled and Danielle went above and beyond to ensure that I got what was needed before she left work for the day. This team has gained a new, loyal patient. 100% incompetent, and the about of damage they did to my teeth and mouth are considerable. Long term damage. They overcharge, perform unnecessary services and even phantom bill insurance for unperformed services. But even beyond this stay away due to The damage they will do to You. The comment below is not genuine in my view. I have contacted the office via phone, text and now email with no resolution or response. The worst dentist I ever been too , I came in for pain in my back tooth I paid nearly $1400 for everything, except the pain. And after all the work was done and all my insurance was capped and I spent nearly $1400 out of pocket then they told me oh your back tooth is cracked you need to get it removed and said I need to go to another dentistry for that. read more

When I tell you I am terrified of the dentist! So, I am very particular about where I go to get dental cleanings and work done. This place has absolutely changed my perspective of the dentist. I had to get a deep cleaning because I didnt have insurance for quite some time therefor I was long over due. I also still had some fillings I hadn't filled in from my last dental examination, so those just got worst over time. My first visit was for an X-Ray which followed it a return visit of a deep cleaning. The gentleman who did my deep cleaning did an exceptional job and was overall a pleasant person. He prepped me on aftercare of my teeth and scheduled me for my next cleaning. I then returned for my first set of fillings (left side). This time a women completed my fillings. She was very thorough and thoughtful. She made sure I was comfortable and and understood the process all the way through. The office staff is always friendly and welcoming. Ashley at the front desk is always a pleasure she really brings a vibrant and inviting vibe to the overall experience. I'll be sticking around for sure. read more

Their billing department is ridiculous. In my first visit they gave me a total for the services to be performed, of which I would pay upon completion. The day of my appointment the hand me a bill for $200 more than the quoted price. When I showed my original total, they corrected their mistake. Now, after two months later, I receive endless texts and emails saying I owe $800 more dollars ON TOP OF WHAT I ALREADY PAID! I also received a bill in the mail for $400. I made numerous calls that just go to voicemail, no call back. After speaking with my insurance company, they told me that this office submitted my bill twice and are trying to collect the money from the denied redundant claim. If you want to save yourself a headache, go elsewhere. read more

The majority of their staff are professional and knowledgeable however Coast Dental's Dr. Ike is obviously inexperienced and incompetent. I don't say that lightly but it's true. She barely looked at the reason for my emergency appointment and almost immediately recommended I see a specialist, which I did. I'm between insurances right now but after paying a few hundred dollars to be seen at Coast Dental and another $400 for the specialist Dr Ike recommend I see I learned that I simply had a fractured tooth. Dr Ike knew I was paying out of my pocket but instead of being through she outsourced her job to a specialist who took less than 5 minutes to asses a simple fractured tooth for which I paid an extra $400 AFTER seeing Dr Ike. She might just be young and inexperienced but she's certainly an amateur at being a dentist. Don't fall for it! read more

It has been 4 months since starting this nightmare from day one still can't wear lower dentures the uppers broke before having them 30 days waited nearly 4 weeks to get them back .even with adhesive not able to eat with them. Beware. They do not get treatments preauthorized . You will get a bill months later because they do not get prior approval from your dental insurance provider. This is the second time this has happened. Will be finding a new dentist. read more

Easy to make an appt and staff was friendly when I arrived. BUT way over booked and Dr K would NOT remove my broken piece of tooth (for which I was in grave pain) until I spoke with his finance person about doing $3000 worth of dental work. Then after I did that he didn't even use novacaine but some kind of deadening gel where he then wrenched it out with an actual wrench. Apparently my dental ins sucks because I'm having a hard time finding a reputable place to take it. Then I got a bill for $5 for my co-pay which is just fine except I got on dated 8/20 for a due date of 9/4 and then another dated 8/22 saying it was past due. Get your act together folks. I have been going to Coast Dental for 15 years. I should have written a review when Dr. Kudumula was still there as he was a good Dentist and a very nice person. There office was closed for a while , over a year or longer during covid and when I finally got to come back to this location, they had changed Dentists recently in 2021 to Dr. Ugochi Ike, and she is wonderful enough that it prompted me to write a review. Dr. Ugochi went above and beyond to help take care of my dental needs. I really liked her and recommend her services. She is also very kind. Dental apts are not always so much fun (understatement) but she made me happy going the extra mile. I also had the very best hygiene appointment I'd ever had with a lady named Terry (who I think unfortunately was just subbing for the day.) That's a shame as she would make a wonderful addition to the team. I had never had anyone be so thorough in a dental cleaning ever. So, all in all a great appointment. read more

The dental office at 270 Cobb parkway is shady and full of crooks. I was suppose to be issued a refund if $250 and was told it would take 6-8 week(red flag). So I waited patiently and at 9 weeks I reached out only to be told that the refund had been "approved" but they had to reach out to the district manager to see why it hasn't been issued yet. Then i was told that I would hear from the DM(Ashley) for an update. A week goes by and I didn't hear anything. So I called back and was a told by a new associate that she couldn't help me because she wasn't familiar with the system and to call back the next day. I go up there the next day to check in progress and was told at first that it had not yet been approved by another person that I had never spoken to and then I was told that the policy had changed. When I asked what the new policy was I never got an answer, only that the DM approved the refund but it is now up to Corporate to approve the refund. It has been 10 weeks at this point. For a company's policy to change at random and to be given no explanation is beyond unprofessional and I don't recommend anyone use this dentist office. My refund needs to be issued immediately!! read more

Worst dental experience I have ever experienced and I grew up in a dental office. Check in process and that was fine, but after they checked my gums they just left and I was waiting there for 40 minutes before they came back and said, "oh sorry, you are still here, you are done now". I did not get a cleaning, no one explained anything to me about my x-rays or cleaning practices, and they tried to add extras on for a cleaning they still wanted me to have. I used to go there for my dental cleaning and last time I was the dental hygienist put the numbing jell before he cleaning and she was gone for at least 20 minutes by the time she was back all that jell went to my throat and I started to have difficulty breathing and they acted like nothing even happened and I felt like i needed to go to emergency room because of not be able to breath. Another thing is after she start doing work on my teeth she wanted to stop in the middle of the procedure and work on someone else...When I asked why she said it was her appointment time so let me finish her and come back to you....I could not believe... I will never go there ever again...and od not recommend anyone else either.. read more

It's not the fanciest dental office I have ever been too, but the people were very nice! I was so fertile to get my work done because I have had doctors who ignored my pain. I like this office and its staff immensely! From Kim up front to Dr. Kudumula to the kind woman who took my X-rays (whose name, sadly, I can't remember) and the awesome Tay I've really had great experiences here. Needing a root canal and crown (and paying for it) isn't anything to look forward to. But I was dealt with with respect, sensitivity to any pain, and quickly and efficiently. My insurance was handled unobtrusively on each visit and my financial responsibility was exactly what it should be under my policy. I'll be back soon for cleaning and to start dealing with a couple of other issues - I'll be keeping these teeth! read more

Anil Kudumula rushes the work to increase his profits without regard for his patients. (may cause excessive pain and infection). His billing person is a monster. Very insensitive and rude. Stay away from this "practice" there are better places elsewhere. Also appointments mean nothing to them. read more

All I wanted to do was set up an appointment but the receptionist seem Ike she was rushing me off the phone. Admittedly it was 12:50. Might have been lunch time. Talking over me and not letting me finish my words leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I knew I had to move my information from one office to another but please let me get a word in edgewise. I would like to feel like my hard earned money was spent happily and not feeling like I was forced and had no choice. Sorry to say I hung up the phone half way though the conversation and decided it is easier to travel 18 miles to the previous location that tool good care of me that 4.1 miles that was rushing me off the phone. I ended up going in to that location a week later. Not so much better experience. The woman behind the counter talk over me and was not very helpful. I'll go rather malt the trip back to Alpharetta. read more

I get my teeth clean every 6 months at Coast Dental on Cobb Pkwy. My experiences has been great. The staff and dental professionals are extremely nice and answer all my questions. The cleaning are quick and painless. I am happy to go to a place and get my teeth clean without having to drag about it. read more

Run away as fast as possible. This dentist office works very hard at up-charging for unnecessary services. They charge an extra $50 for a "special" cancer screen that should be part of any regular office exam and are not clear that it will be an additional fee. Also, they charge the patient one fee and submit false fees to the insurance company to try to get more than they are due. I spoke with the insurance company about it and they assured me the patient fees and insurance submission should match up. Not ethical, not recommended, not ever! read more

The first time I went to this dentist It was fine. My next visit was less than desirable. I went in for my 6 months cleaning and they told me that they were cleaning their instruments for the cleaning and that made me feel safe. The next day my teeth and gums where they worked on felt very tender and I thought well its probably just because I had some work done in that area. The next day the roof of my mouth started hurting and then I notice my entire mouth was hurting. I went back to the dentist there and told them my problem and they said my mouth looked fine and that I should go to a specialist and that the problem didn't come from their office. They didn't want to have any thing to do with me and turned me away. So I went to my general doctor and told him my mouth was hurting all over and he asked me if i had gone to the dentist lately and answered yes just last week, why? He just shook his head and said you have Thrush and it can be cause by not properly cleaning dental instruments. So People if your going to this dentist or thinking of going to this dentist ...think again or you may be stopping by your general doctor to get a perscription for mouth was to get rid of THRUSH WHICH IS A FUNGIS THAT ANTIBIOTICS WON'T TAKE CARE OF. Dentist like to hand them out like candy. I will not go to Coast Dental again no matter where or what state it is located. read more

I went once and never returned. I didn't feel like my treatment options were well explained, and the staff was consistently pushing me towards more expensive treatments. One of the dental hygienists was very nice, but the other one was very unprofessional, and left in the middle of my cleaning to yell at the receptionist. That being said they were very helpful in getting my x-ray records transferred to a different dentist. read more
