One of the BEST pizzas we have ever had!!! There are an infinite of options to choose from. I especially love their slices you can order. They rotate out of the entire menu to put out pizza by the slice. So you never know what they might have on the rotation. We got their BBQ slice which is HUGE- they sliced that big slice into two, so me and my husband each got a slice out of that! The BBQ is definitely worth a try. Favorite pizza in town. I always get the pepperoni. I don't even ask for extra pepperoni but it covers every inch of the pizza like dragon scale! The edges of the roni get really crispy in the oven too, it's just the best, and only $23 (only $1 more than the large cheese). My other favorite is their Cesar salad dressing. My cousin and I traveled from Eagle River to Cooper Landing, and return trip were hungry after sightseeing in gorgeous Alaska. Drove into town and didn't find much. Stopped here for a couple of slices while in Girdwood. We had the sausage and mushroom, pepperoni, pepperoni and pineapple, and the cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was my favorite believe it or not. My only thought is the sauce was a little sweet so maybe a little mustard in the sauce to give it a little tang. Just a personal preference I think. The pepperoni and pineapple had been in the warmer a while and past it's prime but the sausage and mushroom and pepperoni were good. I think what would have pushed this rating to 5 stars for me would have been if they threw the slices in the oven for 30 seconds to make them hot again. I've eaten here twice out of desperation and regretted both times. To be fair, I'm originally from Philly and I have impossibility high pizza standards. But this pizza is fricking awful. The crust is bizarre they ALWAYS overcook their pizza. Like, it's BURNT, and not in that cool Italian brick oven style way. It's just burnt. Positives- staff is super nice. Servings are huge. My boyfriend and I shared a large Freak pizza which comes with pepperoni, sausage, ham, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and garlic. There were plenty of toppings, which were tasty, but the crust was very dry and tough. It was $29 for a 16" pizza which I think is very overpriced. Small seating area but it's clean and there's art by local artists which I always appreciate at local businesses. This Girdwood joint is loved by locals. It's located in the Tesoro strip mall when you turn off the Seward hwy. They have some indoor & outdoor seating, but it's very much a "to go" restaurant. We always drive by it, and I wonder how the pizza would taste considering the strange location. I always figured it was a tourist trap, but came to find that the locals dig it. So we decided to try it! I love Alaska's commitment to artisan (California) style pizza with the innovative flavor combos. But, this Chicago girl misses her simplistic thin crust pizza. I usually am all for the weird, but a simple pie with 2-3 toppings outside of the sauce and cheese is my jam. Coast has the pies with tons of toppings, but they also have build your own options with good staple ingredient choices. They also have an extensive menu outside of their pizza that's worth a browse. We ordered an large (16in) Italian sausage, pepperoni, and banana pepper to go. It was reasonable priced at $24, and ready in about 20 mins. we were able to pick it up as we drove past Girdwood on our way home from Cooper Landing. We ordered over the phone, but they also have the option to order online. Or you can get pizza by the slice if you don't want to commit to a whole pie. The pizza exceeded my expectations. The crust was good, thinner and crispier than most pizza joints around here. Resembled the tavern style pizza more than any place I've had in Alaska. The Italian sausage wasn't what I would consider to be Italian sausage, but it was still tasty. The sauce has good flavor, there were ample toppings. I was impressed especially given my bias of the location. Wish it was closer to home because it would definitely be a pizza I'd order for take out often. In the beginning, this was the holy grail of pizza for me in the entire Anchorage/Girdwood area. The crust was bubbly, proofed perfectly, with the right amount of chew. Now it seems like frozen boxed pizza crust quality, closer to Tombstone brand. The flavor isn't bad, but it's just not what Coast used to be; it's a far, far cry from the times before.
