This is a McDonald's. There are many like it. But this one is my girfriends. It's hard to tell anymore if everything is because of staffing, but this is the slowest McDonald's drive thru I've been to. It's dual-lane...which initially seems awesome right? I took my order and what a surprise - my smoothy cup was only 2/3 full. It could happen especially when the staff member is a trainee. That's fine. I just asked for a new cup, as I expect to receive what I am paying for. However, the guy refused, I lowered my voice, the site manager came and so on. After some unneeded arguing and received my full smoothy cup, but it doesn't need to be like this. Need to admit that they serve really good french fries and the burgers are delicious. Actually, the interior here is more than impressive, original and creates a kind of good mood when you see those decorated walls. After snowshoeing in Russian Jack Springs Park for a few hours I was starting to feel hungry. Luckily I saw the giant M in the distance right before going through the tunnel that connects the north and south halves of the park. McDonald's is a quick two minute walk out of the park. Ordering was quick and I had my food about three minutes after ordering. The food was up to McDonald's usual standard. It is a tasty treat when you are in the mood. What makes this location different is the decor. They have a fireplace with a nice seating area. I have never been to a McDonald's with a fireplace. Overall, I think this is a above average McDonald's. read more

When I was in K-12, I used to visit and get a sundae or a burger. When I moved out of Alaska for several years and then came back to the same neighborhood I grew up in 2010, it was a lovely surprise to find that they remodeled this McDonald's. Its awesome, and I think it's the classiest McDonald's I've seen, even though I've had the pleasure of a Le Royal with Cheese with a beer in Paris. Service is bad and they have employees who can't even count money right. The managers are just like the employees, I don't know why they're even managers. One time I was trying to order something and the girl on the register didn't understand, so a manager came but didn't understand as well because she didn't know how the register worked, so she asked a girl that had a headset on to come help her. Finally, after 2 people trying to take my order, the last girl finally gets it. I have been to the Debarr McDonald's hundreds of times since I was an infant and the customer service is the best in the entire Anchorage area (at least in my experience). They treat me very well, and they rarely make a mistake about my orders (0.00001% of the time). Since their last renovation & remodeling, they really have done the best job I have seen since this McDonald's opened 30+ years ago.
