Excellent experience! This was our second time dining here (wonderful meal last year too!) Alex was a lovely server and we appreciated her hospitality and attention to detail! We dined inside this year and the restaurant is beautiful and elegant without feeling stuffy. Our meals were great and my husband's gin martini was exactly what he wanted. We were able to share the Caesar Salad and when I asked for light dressing that's exactly what I got. I ordered the 6 piece shrimp basket with unseasoned fries and no slaw and everything arrived exactly as requested. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his sandwich, The Butcher Shop Hoagie. Alex was perfectly attentive without hovering. We learned it was just her second day yet she seemed like a seasoned professional!! The ambiance is always amazing. Whether dining inside or on the balcony the experience is definitely worth it. Highly recommend! read more

We have eaten here a few times. A few years ago was great. Last couple of times it was just ok. Last week was embarrassing because we brought another family from out of town to dine with us. I gave it 3 stars bc it has a nice view, pretty good service, ok drinks, and the food was just ok. The 1st embarrassing part is the kitchen would not allow any substitutions. The 13 year old girl with us that doesn't like seafood chose the pasta dish with chicken. She wanted no tomatoes and no artichokes. They said no. I wanted the redfish but i don't like broccolini. I couldn't sub a side but could add and extra side for $8 more. That dish is already $53. 2nd embarrassing thing was that my friend ordered the seafood sampler. The 1 crab cake was tiny. There were 4 shrimp. The fish was mahi and looked like frozen mahi nuggets. They were tough. The rest was mostly fries and a small ramekin of cole slaw for $49. We ate at 2 other restaurants that week with very similar prices that were delicious, So I'm not complaining about the prices so much as I am the quality of the food for the price. And it would be nice at a nice restaurant to omit tomatoes if you want or change out a side. And maybe add a burger to the menu. read more

Something is wrong at this restaurant. The first thing we noticed was the lack of customers. Ordering became complicated. One of our party has a food allergy and the server had to keep going to the kitchen to get answers to the questions. When the runners brought out the food, it wasn't how we ordered but we made due. The server appeared to straighten out the confusion and everyone received their correct salads. Then when the food came out, one burger that was ordered medium rare was well done. When the server was informed, she apologized. My husband told her he would eat it anyway but that she should inform the kitchen of the error. After eating half of it he regretted not insisting they make it over. They did provide a birthday dessert for our birthday girl. They started to clear the dinner plates but after taking only part of them, they never returned for the rest. We had 6 in our party, gratuity was automatically added. It's a good thing because we would not have been inclined to leave as much. We now know why the restaurant was so empty when the area is full of snowbirds. Our first red flag was the security guard at the gate. She highly recommended the Brussels Sprouts. When asked what the specialties were she hesitated and said Brussels Sprouts. While they were good, nothing great. My shrimp and French fries were good. Those who got burgers...not so good. We won't be back. Apparently others aren't going back either based on how empty the restaurant was. read more

Lovely lovely view of ocean, fantastic ambience, friendly hostess stand and servers. Charbroiled oysters felt overcooked. Gulf platter with fish and shrimp were very very nice. Quiet club atmosphere. The waitress was nice. My wife likes her Argentinian red shrimp, my two girls each ordered crab legs (which were top notch), and I ordered the seafood sampler that wasn't. The crab cake was the size of a small hushpuppy, the grouper was the size of a McDonald's chicken nuggets, and the shrimp were fine. I was underwhelmed, but the girls enjoyed their dinners. I was a bit disappointed the menu prices were significantly different than the menu on OpenTable...around 36% higher. I understand prices change, but we might not have made the 30 minute drive and tried a different spot that was a bit closer. However, the crab legs were great. read more

Party of 4! The parents and the wife along with the author of this review! While staying at the beach club we decided to give Coast a try. I don't think that anyone in the group was ready for what happened next. We had reservations so we chose to be seated out of doors. Almost immediately our server greeted us and introduced herself as Aspen. She quickly took our drink orders, returned and discussed to daily highlights. We all decided a little differently and waited for our meal. Appetizer was the a crab dip with toasted pita. Along with fresh rolls and butter. The meals ranged from the Seafood sampler to the fried shrimp with shrimp bisque soup. Not a complaint at the table. Wonderful food excellent service and the peanut butter creme brûlée for dessert was certainly a handsome finish! Oh! Full cocktail menu and great wine list! Very satisfied customer! The fresh oysters were dried out ,looking dead, the cocktail sauce appeared to be ketchup w/less than an ounce of horseradish plopped on top ,not ready for prime time. Our second time dining at Coast. 1st time was last Summer. We sat outside on the veranda. It was wonderful! Tonight we hd reservations. We immediately recognized Jeff from the waitstaff at the Hideaway. He is always very friendly and tonight was no different. We have a 6year old. There were very few kids there. The menu is a little on fancy and pricey side, but he had a hamburger and fries from the kids menu. There is no burger on the adult menu FYI. The restaurant went from empty to full in about 20 minutes. There were tons of large parties, especially lots of ladies. The bartender,Chris, was hopping. He made my husband a great pb old fashion. My Mom had an Irish Mule. I had a glass of Cabernet. Chris was great and helped me out with a corkage issue later. Thanks, Chris! Food took forever, but between Covid and Hurricane Sally and off-season, we kind of expected that. Personally, I think the menu should be a little more diverse to fit the beach club clientele since it is basically the only thing open right now, but i personally love crab legs. Not sure i have ever paid $80 for them but... i still love them. Would have been better hot as they were just lukewarm. All the food was beautifully presented. All in all, food was good, service was good (just slow). We know what to expect so we will for sure return. read more

My wife and I had dinner at Coast Restaurant. Our waitress Faith was very attentive as well as nice. My wife had the crab cakes and French fries. I had the best bronzed grouper. The food is very bland and overpriced for what you received. I had the catch of the day and my fiancé had a Strip Steak. I only ate three bites of mine because it was tasteless. I had the Gouda grits as my side and they were also tasteless. I had to ask for some salt and pepper just to give them some taste. The Brussel sprouts on the other hand were amazing. My finances food was ok but again had to have salt and pepper added to it because there was no flavor. Thiswas definitely not a $175 meal. Loved the atmosphere on the veranda with a view of the Gulf and resort pool. Service was excellent. Food was well-prepared and delicious! Easy walk from the Plantation resort where I was staying. The seafood is primarily local so you can't go wrong. Loved it all! read more

We were thoroughly impressed with this restaurant at The Beach Club Resort. It is a beautiful restaurant and the service is just outstanding. Our hostess was friendly & seated us right away (even though we got there about 5 minutes before they open!). We absolutely loved our waitress, Sylvia. She was just so sweet & she was a fantastic server. My mom got a filet with mashed potatoes & asparagus. My sister got a filet with mashed potatoes & creamed spinach. I got the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes & creamed spinach. Everything was absolutely wonderful. Our booth was comfortable and the seating at the regular tables also looked comfortable. The ambiance is lovely. There is a nice seating area outside overlooking the beach, and we definitely plan to dine out there once the weather is not so hot! All in all, this place is fabulous in every way. Worth every penny! read more

Food was great. Had a reservation and they text 45 mins before our seating time to make sure we were coming. When we arrived, a storm was blowing in and the manager was moving all the outside tables inside. The hostess had just prepared our table and was walking us to it when the manager cut us off and sat an outside party at our table. The hostess spoke with him and said "I need that table, they had a reservation for 6." and motioned to us. He then moved 2 tables together for us and we sat down. No big deal. I get it, miscommunication and some frantic movement because of the storm blowing in. The weird part was the manager avoided our table THE ENTIRE 1.5 HOURS we were there. Like no eye contact, brushed past us, all of it. He went to every other table in the restaurant, several times, to check on them. My husband and I both tried to get his attention 4+ times just to speak about the situation and smooth it over. We looked right at him, raised a hand, waved him over. There's only about 15 tables inside, there is no way he missed us. I guess he was worried we were going to be upset. I really have no clue, but it was so weird. One of my kids drinks had a hair in it. It happens, not ideal though. Would do 3.5 if that was an option. Food was great. Our server was good, too. Drinks were also great. Wait time for food was about 45 mins. Not great, but it tasted great when it finally arrived. Server told us the bread machine was broken and they couldn't get the replacement parts. This restaurant is gorgeous! So tastefully done! Open and airy, gorgeous white palm chandeliers hanging! Beautiful tables inside or al fresco on the veranda with lovely views of the club pool and ocean. We had a dinner reservation last night at 7pm, and were seated pretty promptly. Had some great drinks from the bar, & dinner came quickly. Everything was hot and delicious! The lobster bisque is divine! Many yummy sides too. This would get one star from me, except for the kindness of two particular staff members. The decor when you first walk in is quite nice. A big fish tank and bright rooms. But, it started going downhill from there. We had a reservation at 8:45, but did not get seated until at least 9:15. We had multiple children in our party. We ended up placing an order at the bar for some fries, to try and keep our children from complete and utter misery. The bartender was super nice and liberal with the ketchup, which made my daughter happy. When we finally got seated (we had a large party), we were sat in a private room.. that apparently doubles as storage. I have never, ever been to a 'nice' restaurant where I was sat next to a lot of storage. (Pics posted). Fourth of July decor, plus a variety of other stuff. It was a mess. For the prices you pay at that place, I shouldn't have to stare at a mess that belongs in a back room or an attic. Food was mediocre. Nothing to really report there. But, I'll tell you the very best thing about this restaurant. We had a waitress named Lisa, I believe. She's a mama to grown children, but you'd have a hard time believing it, looking at her. She told us she was from Jamaica. Anyway, my husband had raw oysters and my daughter wanted to save a particularly unique shell. The busboys were a bit overly thorough and whisked it away. My daughter was really upset (late night), and when we told Lisa about it.. first she brought back a general shell, and we told her that was fine, but my daughter was holding back tears, because it wasn't THE ONE.. so, this amazing waitress, goes to the TRASH, to get the unique double shell that my daughter wanted. That is some seriously amazing service. So, thank you to Ms Lisa for being such a thoughtful human being and bringing light to an otherwise blah experience. read more

1. I made a reservation and when we got there they were very confused even thought I had a text and email previously confirming my reservation. 2. Our server let us know that it was her second day on the job. I was totally ready to give her grace and help her out but it went too far. She brought us the wrong bottle of wine and slapped it down on the table un-corked, so we sat there for 15 min. Finally got the right bottle of Pinot Noir and still flew by and left it on the table un-corked. So we opened it ourselves... 3. Food was served. We all ordered the fresh catch (snapper) and the fish was cooked well but the finish was absolutely terrible. No flavor. The "lemon butter caper finish" was absolutely aweful. The capers were literally burnt up and flavorless. I finally had to ask for some lemon slices, salt/pepper to finish the dish myself. 4. Our server then was gone for a very long time and when she returned she appeared quite stoned and did not care to help us out with much. 5. And we paid over $300 for this "fine dining" experience. read more

We showed up here without a reservation a bit worried that it'd be busy as they said recommendations were expected. Got a seat no problem, we were one of 3 other tables at the time in the place. We ordered fairly quickly, mostly sushi and some of the warm plates as well. Our kids are a bit picky but actually tend to eat Sushi fairly well. Well 30 minutes later they come over to let us know that they only have 1 person making sushi tonight, they usually have two so it's slower than usual. Fifteen minutes later another update and they ask if they'd like us to bring the other food out as it's been under the warmer. We say yes, which it would have been nice for them to check earlier on that. An hour after we order the sushi comes out, only to have mixed up a cucumber roll for our daughter for a vegetarian roll. As soon as they drop it off it's another 10 minutes before we can get someone back over to point it out. On the food quality it was pretty okay. The sashimi was a hefty portion and decent quality for the area. The crab encrusted red fish was good, but also not something that will necessarily draw us back. The 2 stars was because of decent food, without that would definitely be down around 1 based on their service. read more

My husband and I were expecting a very nice meal here due to the ambiance, reservation only (dinner), and prices on the menu. What we got was sadly not this. We had a reservation and were seated promptly, however, the service was very slow. It took 2 full hours, so just be prepared with your time. The restaurant was not busy, so I'm not sure why there was such a delay in everything. My husband got the sampler platter and it honestly was similar to a fast food seafood platter. It tasted like it was frozen and then heated up. I got the fresh catch and it was good, but nothing spectacular. The thing that frustrated me with this was that they wouldn't let you choose any side off of the menu even though they were all the same price. If I'm spending that much on a meal, I would expect them to allow me to choose a side that is the same price as one of the sides they suggested to pick from. Pros- The wedge salad was very delicious and my husband enjoyed the crab bisque soup. My suggestion would be to come for lunch if you really want like to try this place out, otherwise don't waste your time and money. read more

While the restaurant is beautiful and I've been there many times in the past, last night it seems to have lost it's charm (maybe it was the Led Zeppelin music) and the staff certainly lacked professionalism. The most descriptive word for the food was underwhelming at best and at that price it should be much more. My chicken pasta had absolutely no taste and my husband's grilled red snapper was the same. Had it not been for what tasted like a packaged lemon caper sauce it would not have been worth eating. Save your money! read more

Let me start by saying that we stayed at the Beach Club in July 2015 and ate here 3-4 times because it was that good! Back in May 2017 and the menu (and perhaps chef) has changed and it has been for the worse. It didn't bother us as much that the server didn't know anything about the menu because she promptly got us any answers and was helpful. Perhaps she was new but either way some training and more knowledge on the menu entrees couldn't hurt. We ordered my toddler the kid fish bites with green beans. Neither the fish nor the batter had ANY trace of flavor/season/s&p. And the fish itself was very dry. My ahi tuna (of the mixed seafood grill) was explicitly (by chef's orders) to be medium rare, warm pink center; there was no pink to be seen. The grouper and accompaniments were good and the sauce brought it all together along with the crisp kale. My hub's swordfish left much to be Desiree but the risotto was a hit. In 2015, our servers were knowledgeable about the menu as well as the wine and made great recommendations to us. Now in 2017 we spent more money on our meal for far less quality in service and food. Desserts were priced around $15 hubs said (I didn't even look - I was ready to get out of there). Super disappointing changes. They also now offer sushi and it seems at high end prices without any presentation from what I saw being delivered to other tables. We don't mind paying for good food (again, in 2015 we went back several times during our stay) but that's not what we got this time around. read more
