this place is the worst if you actually have a life after an appointment. You make an appointment for 9:30 you get sent into the room at 10:30 and then you wait in the room for another 15 min and it goes on and on for every appointment. I think honestly it's a front of house problem or the Dr's talk to much. Whatever it is, if you have a life outside of your appointment make sure to reschedule it all and keep your whole day open just for a dermatologist appointment I only come back because I'm on accutane and need to finish out my session and then I will NEVER come back. Also the front of staff is SUPER RUDE, ALL THE TIME, they don't smile at you and they talk to the older patients like they're dumb. read more

Went there to get my lipomas removed. It clearly said on the website that they remove lipomas so I took an appointment there and showed up. The doctor looked at some of the lipomas I have and said sorry those are too big and can't remove them, knowing that I have other small ones that need removal as well. So instead of the doctor recommending that he can help me remove the small ones at least, he just said sorry you can go to a surgeon and get them all removed. So the whole appointment lasted 5-10 mins I went to the office and didn't even get the service or part of the service I needed, yet a month later they send me a bill for my visit and they also billed my insurance on top of that. Very disappointing and unprofessional. Not recommended. read more

I'm here to leave a review for my 79 year old mother whose English isn't very good. About half a year ago she went to see Dr. Arnstein to have a keloid scar removed. The course of treatment was surgical procedure plus radiation. It was supposed to only take a couple of weeks to heal, but somehow it got stretched to two long months of painful recovery for my elderly mother who couldn't even take showers during that time due to the open wound on her chest. A few days after the procedure, she had to have a friend take her to urgent care because the bleeding was profuse. The urgent care doctor there said that it was due to a bad suture job, and sent my mom back to Dr. Arnstein to fix. When my mom went back, she said Dr. Arnstein didn't even look under the dressing to inspect the suture! He simply said it still hadn't healed (as it was still bleeding) and told her to schedule an appointment for the following week. This happened week after week for 2 months! During this time, my mom was in intense pain, and her pain was compounded by Dr. Arnstein's complete lack of bedside manners and human empathy. It's like he doesn't care about the quality of his patient's recovery. My mom felt abused by her experience with Dr. Arnstein. And she asked me to post this review as a service to others in the hopes of saving them from going through a similar experience with him. read more

I had my appointment in December 2024 and they told me that they will work on getting my Taltz medication for my psoriasis. I've been getting texts from CVS stating they are working on it and then get denied back and forth. No one in the office was updating me on the situation. I had to call CVS myself because it was now February 2025. During the months of March and April, I've been trying to get in contact with the office and they are always giving me different excuses like someone will call me back when I leave a message or they are gone for the day or on vacation or busy dealing with surgeries. Ive been leaving messages to call me back but no one ever does. I've been dealing with Ashley and Alyssa for majority of the time. I have spoken with Ashley on 3/12 & 3/18 and Alyssa on 4/9 & 4/17. Those were the only times I spoke with them. All other times I spoke to whoever was at the front desk. At the end of April, I spoke to someone and I told her that I need someone to call me back ASAP because I was starting to flare up and she said someone was going to call me back the next day but no one did. I called again on 5/5 stating that no one has called me back and to have someone call me back ASAP because of my flare ups and as of today 5/16, no one has still called me back. On 5/16 I got a call from the office on confirming my appointment and I was like screw that! This was the worst experience. There was no consideration when I said that I had flare ups and to call me back. I found a better dermatologist who was able to get me the medication within two weeks. If I was able to give them zero stars, I would. If I were you I would find someone else where the office and nurses care because obviously when I tell them I have flare ups and to call me back, and no one does, that means no one cares. If I could do zero stars I would and I am not someone that ever leaves reviews, but I felt the need to for this. I went and got a Biopsy back in July 2024. I never heard anything back from the office but kept calling for about three months just to make sure everything was normal. Every single time I called, I got pushed to another person, got told to leave a message and someone will get back to me and at one point even got told that the lab was closed down. Then I randomly get a call in September 2024 from Dr. John Martinez stating that my biopsy from back in June 2024 came back abnormal and that I need to come back in?! To say that I was livid is an understatement. I had already moved out of state which he knew so I requested for my medical records so that I can go get it checked here like he said that I should. I put in my request for my records in September 2024 as soon as I got the results back and it is now end of November and I still have been calling the office continuously and messaging Alyssa Jewel with absolutely no reply back. The most unprofessional experience I've ever had. I would never go back and I would not tell anybody to visit this place ever. read more

WARNING - Do NOT use these doctors! Their front desk staff is rude, unprofessional and it's horrible to have to work with them. They dropped my son in the middle of treatment and after making a mistake they will lie, blame everyone else and constantly tell you that they're so busy. Dr. Radonich was nice but his staff is the worst and there are dozens of other dermatology options even on this same street. Standard tasks such as lab work was always a nightmare and after scheduling an appointment we received a voicemail a couple days later to say they, "won't have a doctor that day." We left 3 voicemails at their office to reschedule and the team never returned our calls. Never use these doctors especially at the Los Alamitos location. read more

This is a very well run practice. The dermatologists are excellent and the office provides all the relevant services. The time periods for new appointments are reasonable and you don't spend a long time in the waiting room either. The prices are fair and the office is well decorated. The staff is courteous and efficient. If you are looking for a dermatologist, I don't think you can do any better. read more

Excellent care and a few decent zingers from Dr. Luxenberg. I was referred here by my dad who's been seeing Dr. Luxenberg for a while and considers him somewhat of a dermatological genius. I have been to a handful of other dermatologists in the past and wasn't happy with their treatment strategies. Most recently I saw one dermatologist about moles I wanted to have checked and she barely glanced at them with a magnifying glass and sent me on my way. My dad has a history of melanoma and I did have some "interesting" looking moles of my own. Dr. Luxenberg listened to me and took care of all seven of them on my first visit & sent them out for lab testing. The removal was painless and I appreciate how he kept things light by cracking a few jokes throughout. read more

Why Yelp keeps one star reviews from three and four years ago and holds them over a business's head and keeps them at the top of the list is completely insane. Yelp is a terrible terrible company that takes newer good reviews and buries them behind old stale ranting about nothing one star reviews. They use that tactic to extort businesses into buying very expensive advertising. They say they won't ever "remove" a bad review for money, but I'm convinced they quietly tweak their algorithm for pay in advertising (I've had to pay them before and it works). No one should use Yelp. That said, I was just at Coastal Dermatology yesterday and the staff was super friendly. Don't believe the one star reviews from three+ years ago and if you ever have left a one star review you should remove it after a few months to a year. Give the business a chance to use your review and make changes, it shouldn't be a forever thing. Be kind, Dr. Rosenberg is amazing. I went to him as a teen after struggling for my entire youth with severe Eczema no doctor could do anything with but inflame. He was the only doctor that put together a plan that worked and still works when that season comes around every year. When my daughter started having the same issues none of her doctors were helping so I drove a fair distance to Dr. Rosenberg. My medicine isn't kid safe so she needed something else. The staff was super friendly and efficient and we didn't wait very long. Dr. Rosenberg put together a very specific plan with some backup medicine for flare ups and things have gotten better quickly. He treated her with great respect and helped her understand what was happening and why she needed to follow the plan. He is one of the best doctors I've ever used trust his expert opinion and years of experience. read more

Dr luxenberg Review YELP I was referred to Dr Matthew Luxenberg at the Los Alamitos office by a friend of mine. He came highly recommended. My L jaw line was extremely swollen and painful. I have presently seen Dr Luxenbery 2x so far. The day of the appt the front office staff & the nursing staff were kind & compassionate. My appts have been right on time so I never had any waiting. They used extra precautions due to covid so I felt very safe. I have been an RN PHN for over 30 years and know many many doctors that I have worked with and gone to as a patient. I have been so impressed with Dr Luxenberg that I felt compelled to write a review. Dr Luxenberg is not only an EXCELLENT doctor but he is also very compassionate . It is very difficult t find doctors that have both competency and compassion. Dr Luxenberg has BOTH . Most doctors would NOT have taken care of my medical problem on the 1st visit. They do an initial visit and have you come back . The staff got me an appt within just a few days & the doctor performed surgery on my jaw line at the FIRST VISIT. The office has a surgical room which most doctor offices do NOT have . They have you go t a an out patient surgical clinic or hospital to perform the surgery. This costs the patient a lot of extra money and Incontinence AND increased exposure t covid. It just goes to show how much Dr Luxenberg CARES about his patients & wants to take care of his patients as quick and easy as possible. MY face looks normal again & all my pain is completely gone. I suffered with this pain for over a year. I had went t a plastic surgeon initially in Jan this year . The plastic surgeon did a very poor job on my face and left my jaw line looking abnormal and did not even take care of my medical problem . I was actually in more pain following that appt. I enjoy my visits with Dr Luxenberg because when he is performing surgery he makes SURE the patient has NO pain during the surgery. He is such an excellent doctor he completed my surgery so quickly I was surprised when he told me he was done. I was relaxed and under no stress during the entire visit. I also want to add he has a very charming personality and it is such a pleasure to have him as my doctor. I honestly cannot say enough about Dr Luxenbery. It is extremely rare to find such a doctor. She is the most condescending person I have dealt with in my life. I called to ask questions about their billing and was being treated like I need to know the coding and methodology. I have never been talked down to or asked If I understand when I called YOU. I must not understand what your policy is of back billing or coding if I am dealing with your unpleasantness on the phone. I Lost it when she said you answered your own question. I still have a bill and amounts don't add up. When you on look yelp the only complaints are about her JENNIFER and has been on going. For 5 years she has terrorized this office. Shame on her for being that nasty and bitter and shame on the office for keeping someone so toxic that they drive patients away. I am done and will never be back into that office. Once doctors realize that their staff controls the patients, then perhaps it will matter that they have an employee doing this and driving patients away. there are several dermatologists and skin specialists who work under this umbrella, but I go to Dr. Radonich. I've been here several times to clear up some random skin issues (Apparently I'm human because I break out occasionally.) I don't have insurance that covers this, so I always pay out of pocket, and it's PRICEY. I swear, a year or so ago, it was $75 a visit, but now it's $105. Geezus christ. After my head exploded, I sucked it up and paid the price. I see it this way, I could either waste money playing trial and error on a bunch of over the counter drugstore products that may or may not work, or get a product that I know DOES work. It's worth it in the long run to me. In any case, this is where I go to solve my skin problems. Make an appointment. I'm usually waiting 10 minutes at most before they see me. The guy is nice and gives me stuff that works. Plenty of parking. read more

Dr Arnstein removed basil cell carcinomas from my 97 year old mother's face. With no explanation, he quickly performed the procedure and left without inquiring how she was or explaining follow up care. I have never witnessed such a rude and uncaring bedside manor. Dr Radonich is a great doctor but the staff - both office and technicians are so rude. Always running late. Monday they were 40 minutes late with no explanation. When I mentioned that this was a long wait the technician, named Liv, literally slammed the door in my face. They also continue to mix up my files after my name change due to divorce. She sounded like she was doing a patient a very big favor to call pharmacy for the prescription, worst of all , after 4 day's wait, she still did not do it and excuse herself that the office's priority was with patient with skin cancer ... but after 4 days ' wait still did not call the pharmacy? The wait time for the doctor was ridiculous! I had two visits with Dr. John Martinez, the wait time were all more than 90 minutes. Dr. John martinez was only available on Friday. if you had problem with the medication( the topical cream he prescribed burn and irritate my eye lid area) he gave you, he wouldn't respond until Friday, or he did not respond at all. Be prepared to encounter the rudest front desk staff, especially if there is a problem. Dr. Radonich has been my dermatologist for 15 years. He's always been professional and competent. When a suspicious growth appeared suddenly on my leg, I phoned the office to see Dr. Radonich immediately. I spoke with BRIANNA. There were no same day appointments (on a Monday). Brianna did not offer to help me find an appointment. I had to keep asking her about various options (different doctor, different day, etc.). Finally, she said there was an opening at "8:00 am on Wednesday". Since I was very clear about the urgent nature of my visit, I assumed it was two days hence. I arrived promptly at 8:00 on Wednesday, only to see two names for the 8:00 slot (myself and another patient). I inquired and was brusquely informed that they put two patients on each appointment time. At 8:20, neither had been called back to see the doctor yet. HOW IS A DOCTOR 20 MINUTES "BEHIND SCHEDULE" FOR THE FIRST APPOINTMENT OF THE DAY? At that time, I was advised by Brianna that my appointment was for the following Wednesday. She said I would still be seen and I needed to tell the receptionist in the back to pull my chart. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE MY OWN CHART PULLED? WHY DIDN'T BRIANNA HAVE THE CHART PULLED? After another 10 minutes, Brianna told me again that my appointment was for the following week. I don't know why she brought it up again. She said again, "The doctor will see you but you have to wait." I asked how long. She said she didn't know. At this point, I was becoming frustrated. I made arrangements to miss work for this appointment and I had to be at work by 9:00. That is why I chose an 8:00 am appointment. BRIANNA CONTINUED TO BLAME ME FOR THE MISTAKE. Brianna took no ownership of her mistake and did not make the slightest attempt to "make it right". She was rude, condescending and confrontational. I raised my voice at her blazen disrespect for the customer. I advised her to cancel my appointment and I asked to speak with the office manager. I was told the office manager (JENNIFER ROOT) wasn't in until the following day. I left a phone message for Jennifer and Dr. Radonich every day for one week and did not receive a call back from either When I called again today, I was told by MIRIAM that Office Manager Jennifer has other priorities and a COMPLAINT IS NOT HER PRIORITY. Then MIRIAM HUNG UP ON ME. I was in the building for other business and decided to wait for Jennifer. I waited in the lobby for 25 minutes. When Jennifer came out, Brianna identified me as "That one." Jennifer refused to come into the lobby to speak with me. Jennifer made no apology for the behavior of her staff and only said, "I've spoken with those individuals." She admitted that she had received all my messages and chose not to return my call. I found Jennifer's demeanor trite and dismissive. Obviously, my business is not important to the office staff. However, in an attempt to get the attention of the owners of Coast Dermatology Group, I will post a review on every site I can find as well as file a formal complaint with my insurance carrier. Hopefully, Coast Dermatology Group will either train their millennial office staff in proper customer service or will replace them with an office staff who understands that patients ultimately pay their salaries. read more

My husband had some suspicious moles so I set out to find a dermatologist. I chose Coastal Dermatology because it was the highest rated dermatologist near me. I'm glad others have had positive experiences, but we absolutely did not. My husband waited nearly ONE HOUR before he was taken into an exam room. He waited another 15 minutes and STILL NO DOCTOR. This is unacceptable. The longer he sat, the more he had time to look at the drab room he was in. He later complained to me it didn't look clean, there was exposed drywall and the only thing on the wall was something advising patients to get a 2nd opinion. He had enough. He told the secretary he had waited too long and that he was leaving. If you value your time I suggest you don't go here. read more

Great doctor. I waited an hour last appointment before leaving after not seeing the doctor. I rescheduled and the receptionist said she would mark it as special so I go in in time. I am sitting in the waiting room for the special appointment and it's now 45 minutes and still not in the back. Stop overbooking appointments!!! read more

I called for an appointment with Dr Newman who has been my doctor for 20 years. I was told since I have not been to see him for 6 years I can't see him because I am a "new patient". Kyonna was the disinterested front desk person who I spoke to. I asked for Mgr. Placed on hold "She is not available" I asked for call back. I explained I know and trust Newman and I have a 2 inch hard mass on my upper arm ana one that is almost as large. Unnoticeable, until intense pain developed. I realize this new policy is from Newman, but I also know he is a caring physician who may say he will see me. I have not gone back to Newman because there was no need to. I am still waiting for the callback from "Jennifer" the ultra busy mgr and will edit this in the future. I see many complaints with respect to the office personnel. Just went to Coastal Dermatology and wanted to write a review with all the details fresh in my memory! If I could knock off half-a-star I would, but only because I was in the waiting room for about 35 minutes before they ushered me into one of the patient rooms. Overall, it was a really good experience. The front desk staff was friendly, yet efficient. The dermatologist I had an appointment with was Dr. Luxenberg and I was impressed with both his professionalism and concern for my skin issues. I'm the type of patient that peppers doctors with questions, and Dr. Luxenberg patiently addressed all of my concerns. He's also pretty funny and took his time, I didn't feel rushed to leave like I do with other doctors (I hate those "wham bam thank you ma'am" type of 5-minute whirlwinds of other doctors who perpetually seem to be pressed with time and treat you as if you're a nuisance). But I was so impressed with Dr. Luxenberg, that I referred him to both my mom and little bro, and they will be making appointments with Coastal as soon as they confirm that their insurance will cover it.
