Before and after of cheek filler
    Teresa M.

I loved my experience at Patient Preferred Dermatology! Tracy and her staff were very informative with each procedure done on me (lip filler and cheek filler). They answered every question I had and did just the right amount of work on me with out over doing it. I was so happy with the outcome, and received compliments from my family & friends

Dr. Haitz was soft spoken, sweet and had a gentle touch. And very very knowledgeable. Explained everything as she did procedure.

This was for a second follow up to see how the healing was going from MOH's procedure on my nose. It was healing great and the PA advised unless it gets worse, just cancel the appointment. I tried to call and was either during lunch or after hours. No ability to leave a message. During hours I got the recording the staff "was assisting other patients" and placed on hold. I called probably 6-7 times and could never talk to anyone about the appointment cancel. I went online to "confirm" the appointment and tried to input a message to "Cancel" the appointment. When I advised her that I have been trying to talk to her for weeks, she told me she was busy and unless that issue was right in front of her, she doesn't get to it.... ??? After calling 4 times to talk to the "office manager" and asked for a call back that never happened, the 5th call, I was transferred to the Office manager. I was admonished for not following the proper procedure to cancel. Then accused for being a no show another time too, which is not true. The office manager told me she will wave one???, but I must pay the $50 fine. I've been going to see Heather for many years but I am never going back. WEST DERMOTOLOGY can have my $50 (I'm sure they would put collections after me if I disputed further). I told them to cancel all further appointments with them. I'm transferring to a new Dermo in Seal Beach and asking to have my records transferred over. Not sure if that Office Manager will transfer my records easily or not. I called back the general office staff (they are very nice and apologetic about the manager) and asked them to thank Heather for her great service and to make sure the manager canceled my future appointments, so they don't go after me for more money.

Dr. Yoo's office was the last I called simply bc I was like "let me just try one more.." and just as I needed my luck to come through it did! They were able to get me 2 days after I called! As you can imagine I was SUPER happy about that... After reading the reviews I was a bit nervous about how it was going to go but I don't like to go off of other peoples opinions... everyone has a different experience. Also you're coming to see a DERMATOLOGIST not a nutritionist. & I would expect people with skin issues to automatically do their own research anyway to be aware of what their ingesting lol.. duh? Anyway. I was lucky enough to see Dr. Yoo and spend an appropriate amount of time with her. I also got an entire body evaluation and every mole checked out which I didn't expect from my first visit! :) so I was very happy about that as well. Erik Sorenson is the best. I'm not entirely sure what his licensing or degrees are - whether he's an MD or not. I'm sure if I looked at his nametag better I could figure it out, but I've never bothered. Maybe I'm too distracted by his boyish good looks to care about the couple of letters following his name. He is knowledgable, honest, and kind. You could probably have these really ugly but medically fascinating boils and warts all over your face and body and he'd still look you straight in the eye, calmly shake your hand, smile reassuringly, and listen patiently to your every word. He doesn't look at you like you're a medical case. He looks at you like a human being, and his concern for whatever ails you seems entirely genuine. He never interrupts, he answers questions, and he goes out of his way to do whatever it is he can do to help. Thank you, Eric Sorenson. In the world of dermatologists, most of whom are as flaky as my skin, you're my hero.

Yikes! One night I went to bed smooth skinned. Washed my face. Checked the mirror and there IT was - the biggest, ugliest MOLE starring back at me. Did it blink? Yikes! Of course I tried picking it. Didn't budge. Tried covering it with bangs. Yet everytime I reapplied lipstick it peeked at me through the parted mane. There. See. It winked. Without haste, I got a referral from my GP, who sent me to Dr. Nichols. As a new patient, of course, I checked Yelp first. Hmmm. Some good. Some not so good reviews. I had to trust my GP and hope for the best. To my delight, the waiting room was full, with seats available. The chipper young woman manning the front desk asked for my ID, then handed over paperwork to fill out. One page. They didn't need my entire medical history dating back to childbirth. YAH! By the time I completed the form a cheerful Scott led me to a very neatly appointed exam room. In the corner sat a display case filled with a Christmas scene. Sweet. Scott asked a few questions, then told me the doctor would be right in. Sure enough, within minutes, Dr. Nichols walked in looking as jolly as Ol' Saint Nick (get it, Nichols . . . Nick). LOL. Clean shaven, he must have recently cut off his beard to enjoy Spring and Summer unfettered. LOL. His eyes twinkled as he asked why I'd come. 'Tout suite,' he zapped that pesky intruder, and I was on my way. The procedure was so painless, quick and easy I'm keeping Dr. Nichols' number handy in case more moles show up.

I get to the office and was told that I would need to pay everything in full. After some prying with the female receptionists they agreed I could pay my copay for the price of the office visit but would need to pay for all additional costs since my deductible was not met. I didn't think this was fair or correct because they are a preferred provider of my Blue Shield PPO plan and contractually the rates would be lower after billing the insurance. They told me I would have to pay the full amount and get sent a check if there was a difference in price. I called Blue Shield directly and was told that this is NOT standard practice because Blue Shield does all of the billing for the PPO plans and sends the patient the amount owed and explanation of benefits AFTER being seen. Long story short, this place is a scam, do not go there!!!
