my lump is in my left armpit (so looking at the right)
    Toni H.

I visited his office in 2022. Besides waiting an hour after my scheduled appointment time, I also had a poor experience once back there. Dr. Tabibian was not thorough and brushed off my concerns. I had a lump in my armpit the size of a ping pong ball. For context, I have had three cases of breast cancer in my family, all maternal side. So a lump is always going to scare me. I had it checked by other healthcare professionals and was told it was probably just a swollen lymph node, however it never went down so no way was it just a lymph node. Once in there he told me it's fat. Advised I eat better and work out. At the time I was 18, on a dance team, and lifted three times a week. I was very offended by that. I asked him why does it hurt then but he stood firm in his diagnosis. It is now 2024 and I had to go to a plastic surgeon to get my lump removed. Once opened up the doctor discovered it was a tumor. Due to Dr. Tabibian's negligence, as well as the other doctors I consulted, I could have had cancer festering in my body.

I had a hard bump on my neck that felt like a sunflower seed removed

They pick up the phone quickly and help you with a minimum of fuss. That human touch is something that is growing so rare. Great service.

What really stood out was how genuinely concerned he was about the condition of my implant and his commitment to doing what was best for my health--not just cosmetically, but overall. The office staff were equally impressive (Manoosh, Cynthia, Shannon)--professional, welcoming, and provided excellent customer service from start to finish. The entire office has such great energy, which makes every visit a pleasant experience. I'm very happy with my breast implant exchange...so far and truly grateful for the care and attention I received. Highly recommend

I don't want this happening to anyone else…read more I chose Dr. Raman Mehrzad at Ocean Plastic Surgery for my mini facelift based on their high ratings, but my experience did not reflect a five-star standard. I am incredibly unhappy with my physical results, which include uneven contours on my stomach after liposuction for fat grafting, contour irregularities on my face, and new visible veins on my facial region. Furthermore, there was a significant communication breakdown regarding my procedures, as I woke up to find fat had been transferred to my lips, which I did not realize was part of the final plan. When I raised these concerns, a follow-up phone call left me feeling insulted and attacked. Dr. Mehrzad downplayed my results, telling me he thinks I look great and stating that my stomach "is not even that bad." I also discovered that the official patient chart notes did not align with my own memory of our conversations. Instead of addressing my surgical complications as part of my ongoing care, the doctor offered additional paid services that I cannot afford. My financial experience was also immensely frustrating. I paid for a CO2 laser, mini facelift, and facial fat grafting, but the final anesthesia fee was significantly more than I was originally quoted. Furthermore, at my 24-hour post-op appointment, I learned that lymphatic massages were recommended for healing. I felt I had no choice but to follow Dr. Mehrzad's treatment plan if I wanted the best result, which meant an unanticipated out-of-pocket cost of an additional thousand dollars. It was challenging to discover these extra expenses after saving for a long time. Between the QR codes soliciting five-star reviews throughout the office and these continued sales pitches, I felt more like I had dollar signs plastered on my forehead than a patient in need of empathetic medical care. There is a saying, as long as you're multi-tasking and dividing your attention, there is no way you can give 100% to anything. The night before I had my surgery I came across a video on Dr. Mehrzad's social media doing lipo to a patient, facing away from them while talking directly to the camera. This horrified me. I thought I was clear when I asked the office manager to NOT RECORD DURING MY SURGERY. When I saw a video of them doing just that and getting the perfect shot of him holding a syringe of my fat, I wondered "am I paying more for anesthesia because of a photo-op?" I was livid and felt my safety had been put at risk. This BY FAR pissed me off the most and my hands shake as I write this. I initially consulted with two doctors, and the first told me I did not need a facelift; I deeply regret not getting a third opinion or walking away altogether. While my overall experience with the management and doctor was poor, the nursing and massage staff members, Margie, Suzette, and Brandon, were amazing and I consider myself privileged to have met them. Dr. Mehrzad has done some amazing work on other patients unfortunately, I wasn't one of them.

I was going to give the whole troubled history of how I came to be Dr. Rayhanabad's patient, but…read moreit's a long story, so instead I'll just relay the recent, happy part of my story. I want to start off by saying that finding Dr. Rayhanabad (here on Yelp) was the BEST FIND I've ever had! Well, actually, I believe I was being Divinely *led* here (to this Yelp review); in fact, Divinity has stayed with me, and Dr. Rayhanabad, during this whole trial! Thankfully, my breast cancer was discovered early, and Dr. Ray..., unbeknownst to her at the time, scooped it all out! "Unbeknownst to her at the time..." because all the tests showed that my cancer was only 3cm and so that is the number that Dr. Ray... was working with during my surgery. But, because it's her practice to scoop out more tissue (more than many, if not most, of her peers), she ended up getting out all 4cm of the cancer with 1cm of clear margins! When I saw her at my post-op follow-up appt., she said she was very surprised at the actual size of my cancer, which, she said, made her even happier when she saw that the tissue had clear margins. She said she did the Dance of Joy! She also said that I was very lucky, because if she had known it was actually 4cm in size, she would've had to do a mastectomy. (I have since told her that maybe I should be a case study to show that you don't necessarily have to do a mastectomy based solely on the size of the cancer.) Anyway, due to the fact that Dr. Rayhanabad is a superbly skilled surgeon who has a high success rate in following the "One and Done" motto, all the (known) cancer is out of me! ("One and Done" meaning, only going into surgery once, get out all the cancer, and be done with it.) I am so happy that Dr. Rayhanabad will be with me on this journey for the foreseeable future; and now, when I see her walk into the room, I get such a sense of joy & comfort. THANK YOU Dr. Rayhanabad for your surgical skills, for the joy your work brings you, and for the great love you have for your patients! And, the gals in the office are pretty nifty too - smiling, friendly, helpful ladies!

I had no problems speaking with him, or seeing him. It's the rest of his staff that I have an issue with. They are not only extremely disorganized, rude, and unknowledgeable, they also take no accountability for their misinformation. I originally called to make a consultation appointment, and they had said that my consultation would be free. Upon entrance, they changed what they said and told me that I would actually have to pay $45. This was annoying, but fine. Then, after Dr. Miller had said that my procedure would be covered by insurance, she came back and said that no, it would not be covered, even Dr. Miller was pretty sure that it would be. After a little back and forth between them, Dr. Miller told her to look into it, and if it was not covered by my insurance, he would just charge me $25. Two weeks later, I found that *surprise* it *was* covered by my insurance! She was about to charge me x3 the price of something that my insurance ... literally covered .... without checking.
