The staff are great! Optical help for the glasses are knowledgeable they take time to explain what the options are for the glasses you need.

Receptionist was very rude and short with me. I was there to bring my autistic daughter for a check up. Her original appointment was a couple weeks ago, but she called needing to change it and she was rude then too. we usually see Dr abarr for my daughter. The front staff seem overwhelmed and disorganized. We came in and waited 45 minutes for our appointment. The eye appointment was pushed through so fast maybe 5 to 10 minutes long at most. Recently went here for the first time since we moved to the area. I had a lovely experience, from making the appointment to the eye exam, to picking up my completed pair of new glasses. Everyone was super nice and helpful. I didn't feel pressured to order glasses from them like I have at other places I have been. I can recall times where I felt like other places were not happy to give me my prescription so I could order them elsewhere. This was not the case here at Coastal. I actually declined looking at glasses that day, but as I was walking out, a pair caught my eye and I ended up ordering them. I was in and out in no time and in less than a week, I was stopping back to pick up my new pair. No pressure and an overall enjoyable experience. read more

The worst place I have ever been to for eyewear. Unless you are dropping $1000 or more for a pair of glasses, the disdain for regular people trying to see without remortgaging their home is evident. Simple requests are met with huffing and puffing, and being left sitting and waiting. I have an pair of Silhouettes and several pairs of Lindbergs, but I wouldn't go back here if they were the only place in town. Oh, and you need an appointment to just go look at frames. They even kept (they said the threw them away) my old B&L aviator frames that I wanted to get repaired. Just the worst. read more

Dr. Magliari is one of the most professional doctors I've ever seen. His front staff is so friendly. My whole family goes there and we're very happy with the practice. No pressure to buy. Samples are provided. Getting an appointment is tough, because they are so busy, but if an emergency arises, they're excellent. Highly recommend Dr. Magliari. read more

I have been going to Coastal for years and never had bad luck until about the past 10 years or so when I noticed my new bifocals are often not fitting correctly with the reading portion being off center/too high and causing me to not even be able to wear the new glasses so I continue to wear older ones. The bifocal portion is too high or something and interferes with my vision if I am Not reading. I think they need to get someone different to make the actual glasses or they need to measure my eyes better. I am surprised tho since I have been using bifocals for over 30 years and this problem is only about 10 years old. I think I will go to Beach St. where the glasses are made Right There. While the optometrist, Holly was great, her desk staff could be much nicer than they are. I needed two sample contacts to get me through the week until I could afford the very expensive brand they fit me for knowing I wasn't super wealthy or anything. I needed 6 days to be able to wait to order them until I got paid. They were insistent on not helping me in any way. Either pay $80 for a box now or you get nothing. The lady was literally smiling while saying this and acting extremely smug. She continued to judge the fact that I rarely order contacts and that I wear my glasses a lot. She assumed I was repeating the wear of my dailies. She was judgy, rude and unwilling to help me. I refuse to be treated like dirt while trying to order contacts, I took my business elsewhere. I love go to Coastal Eye Westerly because my doctor was great but his staff in back office ( not the front desk ) she was so rude. Vey poor service. Went into office to set up an appointment and was quoted a price after the receptionist conferred with the doctor. They called later to let me know I can come in sooner as they had a cancellation. Upon agreeing to the earlier appointment the receptionist said I'm sorry I gave you the wrong price yesterday and proceeded to tell me my generic appointment would now be triple what she quoted me the day before. Also trying to charge me a new patient fee even though I had been going there off an on since middle school, wow. You can tell they are use to over billing insurance companies. Needless to say I cancelled my appointment and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Worst eye doctor i have ever been to. The female doctor was rude and talked to me like i was a child. Very unorganized and unprofessional.

I stopped in today to Coastal Vision needing an adjustment on my glasses. The office waiting room was pretty busy so I wasn't too confident in getting what I needed. The receptionist took my name when I made my request and a doctor that was standing beside her said, "I can help you right now." He did a wonderful job and couldn't have been nicer. The only complaint I had was that the office smelled of cigarettes when I walked in the door. Very odd! read more

My family of 4 used to use Dr Misto for eye exams. My daughter and I both wear glasses. I spent over $500.00 on glasses an prescription sunglasses. There was a problem with the coating applied to my glasses and I had to bring them back. They keep my frames and they were misplaced. It was over 6 weeks before I had the correct prescription. Never once did I receive an apology and I asked repeatedly for Dr Misto to call me about the situation and she refused. It a call to VSP to find the frames. I would not recommend this office. read more
