I'll preface my review by saying I had no contact with the owner regarding pricing or scheduling. My girlfriend and I have been dealing with some out-of-the-blue allergies so we discussed a deep clean of our home. She found this company with multiple 5-star reviews and booked a deep cleaning. We made a conscious effort to take our dogs and spend some time away from the house so the cleaners could work without us around/in the way. We had the dogs leashed up and ready to leave just before 11 am (scheduled time), but no one showed up until 11:30 am. We were gone for over 4 hours, and stayed in the backyard once we returned. We heard, "we're done!" and my girlfriend went in and thanked the woman (a second woman was already gone, I assume waiting outside) and I got the OK to let the dogs in and come inside. When I got inside, I was surprised to see dust almost everywhere, smudges on windows and appliances, rugs un-vacuumed, loads of dog hair just under the edge of the couch (not expecting them to move furniture or anything excessive), and a rag left on the stove top. I then asked my girlfriend what the cost of this "deep cleaning" was and was again surprised that the typical rate is nearly $300. I visited the Coastal House Cleaning website to see what their service breakdown was. Per their website: Clean cobwebs and dust shelves - (nightstands and dressers were wiped down, but no other flat surfaces were wiped down) Dust ceiling fan & blades - (ceiling fan in bedroom was cleaned, with big dust chunks left on the floor. Living room fan untouched, see photo) Vacuum carpeted areas - (we don't have carpet but there is a large area rug that was untouched) Sweep and mop hardwood floors - (partial mopping done) Clean all light switches & door knobs - (see front door lock photo) Stove and appliances cleaned - (stove top appeared wiped down, microwave untouched, see photo) Countertops and backsplashes cleaned - (were already cleaned by us, no visible change) Clean & dry shower door, track & glass - (we have a shower curtain, so not applicable) Clean the inside and outside of toilets - (done, but bidet knobs on toilets were untouched -- just dusty and needed a quick once-over with a rag) Blinds, shutters, and window ledges wiped down - (not done at all, see photos) Baseboards dusted and wiped clean - (not done at all, see photos) So then I think... okay maybe they gave us a standard cleaning? Checked the website and I guess we didn't get a standard cleaning, either (no trash was emptied, no lights dusted.) I am extremely disappointed. When my girlfriend texted the owner, who she had scheduled with, we were asked if we did a walk-through at the end. No, we had dogs anxious to get in the house and had we immediately seen any of this stuff, the cleaners would've been at our home another 4+ hours. When I read over the reviews, I see a lot of move in/move out cleanings, which probably don't meet much criticism because people aren't actively living in those places. My girlfriend and I spent another hour cleaning the house after the cleaners left. If you're looking for a DEEP clean, this isn't the company to go with. We paid for the Move out/Move in option and Lizbeth left the place spotless. I initially thought two people were going to clean the condo, but she did a great job. Lizabeth (cleaner) really listened to our needs with what we wanted clean, she was very kind and sweet. Coastal Cleaning Service just earned another customer as I'm always busy and need help at times keeping up with my place. I booked a deep clean before listing my condo and they went above and beyond. The crew arrived right at the time I asked, had all their supplies in hand, polite, and worked like pros for 4 hours straight. They got crayon off the shower door I'd given up on, made my stainless steel fridge look showroom-new, and even hand-wiped every single blind that I had in my living room. No cut corners. Oh and what stood out most: communication. They confirmed the day before, sent an ETA, and did a walk-through with me at the end to make sure I was happy. They never showed up. After being over a half an hour late, I called twice and no answer. I finally messaged them via yelp and they called me back telling me that they weren't coming. They sent me a very long, list the day before of things to do to get the house ready in which we did. Made arrangements for my dogs and scheduled my entire workday around it. I highly do not recommend. We were prepared to pay $500 +25% tip. read more

We hired this cleaning company for our move-out clean of a 4 bed, 3.5 bath townhouse, and overall had a great experience. There were a couple of minor scheduling hiccups, but thankfully they were communicative and flexible, and everything was worked out smoothly. They were able to let themselves in and out without any problems, which made things so much easier during a hectic moving week. Most importantly, our landlord was very happy with how the place looked--and so were we! Simply put... they were really amazing each step of the way. From initially reaching out they were extremely accommodating around finding and working around an available time/day that met with our needs. Needed a Move-out cleaning for a 1 BR apartment. They came promptly, and worked rather quickly. They did a great job of relocating and working around the different items. They were also just really friendly. There's something nice about hearing a team that genuinely seems to enjoy working with each other. Can't say enough!! If you need any cleaning, I highly highly recommend. Professional, respectful, reasonable and responsive. I had another cleaning company (Green Frog) come out to do a move in/out on a rental and their work was so awful I had to hire another company to come and do a re-do cleaning. Jessika from Coastal House Cleaning went out of her way to get me help that same day, which I needed so that a renter could move in that evening. The job was done quickly, thoroughly, and reasonably.
