"Rocky Ridge" Half Marathon: Fun, with Magic Sponges & only Minimal Loss of Brain Function…read more Okay, okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. I was pretty much conscious for the entire race, and completed the half marathon without resuscitation or medical intervention. Yes, yes, I admit I laid on the ground at Aid Station 3 for a few minutes, but I was just relaxing. Plus, I wasn't trying my hardest. The Rocky Ridge half marathon takes place at Las Trampas Regional park. It's a brutal course, with tons of elevation changes--especially this fun area called "Del Amigo Trail." I'm still having nightmares about Del Amigo. The Brazen Racing team did an excellent job at coordinating this event. Signing up was easy and the course was well marked. There were multiple Aid Stations, well staffed and supplied with anything you could possibly need. The paramedic was waiting at the Finish line, which was encouraging. All the people were super encouraging. There were ice cream sandwiches and all kinds of fun treats at the end of the course. My favorite memory is of mile 9.5. Just before crawling up a steep, hot, asphalt road, they have a bucket full of water and sponges. By that time I was sort of delirious, but regained partial use of my faculties after a few drenchings with the sponges. I tried to bring the bucket with me, but they forced me to give it back. Anyway, the race is still sort of a blur. I don't know how I finished, but I'm pretty sure there was something in those sponges.

It can get busy at the tables and you might have to wait for one to be free. I also don't remember how much it was per game (sorry!) This time when visiting back home in Alameda we decided to play mini golf! The pricing is as follows (as of August 2026): - $16 - Adults (age 18-64) - $13 - Youth (age 0-17) (Age 0-4 is free when playing with a paid adult) - $13 - Seniors (age 65+) You pay at the front and then there's a ball machine near the entrance where you pull the handle of the color ball you want and it comes down the cool metal wire runway. The lady at the front wasn't super helpful and we kinda wandered around looking for where to get the balls, but once we asked she pointed out where we could get them. There are a standard 19 holes on this course and each one is a cool little tidbit about the Bay Area! It was cool seeing local landmarks and the different challenges for each hole. I was terrible was had a fantastic time playing. My boyfriend on the very last hole, got a hole-in-one which triggers an alarm and you get a free round a mini golf voucher that expires 3 months afterwards! Our very first date was playing mini golf so if we are ever visiting again I'd love to make it a tradition! ---- Overall: a great place for mini golf, super cute local landmarks at each hole, challenging, creative, and very fun!

They probably get people trying to take advantage of them bringing larger groups than expected or whatever. It was golf then lunch then arcade and they were a little flexible with the end time for cake so that we could get maximum arcade! The Chicken fingers and fries were great. They could up their game with the pizza a bit, but haha, the kids seemed happy, and everything in the world doesn't need to be gourmet. Good beers on tap for the parents. Felt a little gross drinking them out of a plastic soda cup, but I digress... Price was good for the value we got! It wasn't cheap, but still pretty reasonable when you factor in the unlimited arcade. One of the staff was super excited to about one of my kid's gift--the Remote Control Skibidi Toilet! Thanks y'all for a fun and low stress party.

I can definitely see why it's such a popular venue for weddings. Parking is very easy with a relatively spacious lot. It's handicap friendly. The GPS instructions were accurate. Be sure to check out their social media or call their number to stay up to date on weekend closures for private events before visiting. The wedding season is around March to November. Communication for event space rentals is by email only. During the wedding season they may a little slower to reply but they always did reply eventually. For weddings they tend to book out about two years in advance for weekends. If you ask about Fridays there may be some same year availability. As a non-profit they are a relatively affordable venue. Weddings require almost full day rentals. But something else like a baby shower or memorial can be rented out by the hour with a minimum time. They require a permit to be purchased for professional photos. But it's a modest price and goes to a good cause. It's $75/hour for the photo permit and for a garden use permit like a small gathering it's $300. Walnut Creek is lucky to have such a beautiful gem. I highly recommend checking them out!

I owned a Fully MODIFIED 2020 Ducati Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916…read more I installed SC-Project WSBK Full Titanium exhaust further customized with Termignoni Silencers. So I need the ECU to be upgraded with the Ducati Official Akrapovic Full System Exhaust Up-Map which only can be performed by official Ducati Dealer. I also want to add the DTC EVO2 software to further optimized the traction during track use. I start my research by emailing several Ducati Dealership in the Bay Area, Becki Moreno, The Service Business Development Manager from Ducati Concord was the first to respond back to me and quickly provide me with a quote by email. Not only Becki provide me with the fastest response, she also was very friendly, provide all the information that I asked in details and also provide the best quote (both software and service cost) compare to other dealership. Not to mention Ducati Concord is the only dealership that offer pick up from your home by their Mercedes Sprinter Van service. This is perfect because my bike is a "Display Only bike" with only 4 miles on the odometer, so I don't have to arrange transport myself. Then Becki introduce me to Mario Lopez, the Service Dept. Director at Ducati Concord. Mario further provide me with more information, on how the Software upgrading procedure will be and take notes of all my extra requests due to customization level of my bike. Mario basically provide me with the feeling that my bike is in great professional hand. At the agreed date, Marco their Van Transporter Driver called me in the morning, giving me real time update on when he will arrive at my house to pick up my bike. Marco arrived on time, have great friendly personality, and also a motorcycle enthusiast. Please note that Marco is a young person but have the great personality and attitude that is usually not found with a person at his age. He took great care of my bike when he secure it on his van and off my bike go. Later, Renee from their head office called me to confirm that my bike arrived and also ask me for final confirmation to all the service that I agreed. The following day, Renee again called me to let me know all service had been done and to get my payment information. Renee is also very pleasant to talk too and super nice. A day later, Josh is the Van Transporter Driver for delivering the bike back to my home. Like Marco, he called in the morning and also have some great personality as Marco. It's feel like Josh is the Twin Great Personality of Marco. In summary, I never felt treated as good as this with every service dept. Car or Motorcycle I had been to. Ducati Concord Service Dept. level of customer service is even better than at Porsche/Lexus/BMW/Mercedes/Infiniti dealerships that I deal in the past. I greatly recommend anyone in the Bay Area to give Ducati Concord a chance to service your Ducati. Thank You Becki, Mario, Marco, Renee and Josh. I really appreciate and so happy to see my dashboard now shows Racing EVO and Race EVO each time I started my bike :-)

Mario took the time to listen to my concern, throughly investigated the issue, showed me what they did, and made sure I was happy with the work. I also spent some time talking with some of the people on the sales team while I was waiting for my bike to be serviced and they were all very knowledgeable and helpful. They were putting the finishing touches on their new showroom while I was there and it looks really nice. There were plenty of bikes for me to check out while they were looking over my bike. I cannot say enough good things about the service department at Ducati of Concord after my first experience there. Even though I live quite far from them, I intend to continue having my Ducati serviced there.

I was a couple blocks from Civic Park as I heard the race countdown. I ran the rest of the way to find nobody at the start - the time was already 2:04. They started early?! The beginning part of the course was really muddy so you had to go walking-speed slow, but I made up some of this time later, especially with all the wonderful encouragement I received along the track from College Park HS students. The kids volunteered to stand around the course with signs and words of encouragement, and even their school mascot at Walden Park! A giant purple falcon will make you RUN! I ran through the school yard, on the trails, up and down the Robert Schroeder Bridge, and finally, back to Civic Park. My ending time was 35:50. Minus the 2:04....33:46 - my fastest run in a long time! So, what happened? Some a$$hole drunk driver crashed earlier that morning in Concord (actually at the intersection where I live - which is notorious for fatalities and terrible accidents). The streets were closed and the 1/2 marathon was shortened by 3 miles, so they changed our start time to prevent the majority of both race's runners all ending at the same time. It was great to hear my name announced as I crossed the finish line and received my awesome medal. That's fun! And there was a photographer at the finish (as well as many others along the course.) Lots of awesome snacks and beverages were gifted to us, and McKinnon massage school students were there giving free (amazing) massages. I found a friend who flew into town just for the 1/2 marathon, gave her a hug, and went home to crawl back into bed. Wonderful, well-organized race - especially since they had to deal with rain-soaked fields and one stupid, selfish, drunk driver.
