    Vettori racing sim

I've been here twice, and both times were a blast. You have to reserve your appointment ahead of time, and the second time I went I didn't get a seat directly next to my +1, but it was cool. I think it's a real cool experience to have. They've got modes for automatic cars, and if you know how to drive stick they've got options for 6 speeds. They explain how to use the simulators prior, and ask if you want a certain course or car. They've got a ton of cars and courses so I just ask for whatever they think will go well with the cars I want to drive. The place is clean but it does tend to get hot, so bring a water just in case. I won't lie I got sweaty after a 30 minute session so you might smell some smells in there, but all in all it's a fun experience, especially if you're into cars. Recommend going here at least once!

This place is sooooo much fun!! Even for a person that doesn't like to drive. Make sure to book a reservation as the weekends are packed! 8 of us booked the entire space which was so nice to drive an hour with friends and family. The manager was so nice and helpful! My daughter had a blast as she isn't old enough to drive IRL. It really gives you the full experience of racing on a track with all the impacts of the crashing into other cars and walls lol. We got headphones to speak to everyone which was so much fun. Be aware for those who get motion sickness! After the first half hour I had I stop bc the motion sickness got real. It's such a great fun experience for an affordable price! They are here at this location until March I think until they expand. Make sure to book ASAP!!

Everything looks nice, staff was very helpful - Josh gave great advice during our races. Recommend making a reservation ahead of time for any number of people but especially if 3+

My brother loves F1 and looked up shift arcade and discovered it's the best virtual driving experience you can get in the area. We are staying in San Fran but made the trip over to San Ramon to check this place out. We made a reservation for an hour each on the simulators. We started off with some general instruction before starting our time then throughout the hour we worked our way up in difficulty. The simulators are no joke! After our session, we were both sweating because it really feels like you're driving a race car. I do wish we could've tried some of the other options like running from the police or other non-F1 game modes but overall we had a really great time. I would also say that an hour and a half would be better if you wanna try some extra stuff it took a while to get the hang of things and didn't really feel like we got the hang of it until the last couple races.

Cool spot if you're into F1 or sim racing and need a spot to hang out. Book a seat online! Super easy

This place is amazing. I'm in the process of building my own rig, so I've been researching my own parts. They really spared no expense giving you the best experience with top of the line hardware. Bill is also very friendly and talked me through the whole process and was straight forward. Their prices are very reasonable for the experience you get. Just go and give it a try! The area around is also very nice, plenty of food , drinks, or just walk around.

A really fun place to book! Had a great time here Bill is a cool guy. I believe he is the manager. Had a great experience, 10/10 will come again

Great experience! Came in with a group of 5. Would recommend reserving online if you have a group. The hosts went over everything and were very helpful the whole time. Everyone had a good time.

They've rebranded to "Shift Arcade" and moved locations to City Center Bishop Ranch mall in San Ramon (downstairs, next to Equinox)! My boyfriend and I decided to visit their new location and the employee working, Chris, was extremely helpful and kind. It wasn't too busy so My boyfriend did a walk-in 30 minute session- there were tons of cars to choose from in the game including some niche models like the GR Corolla! I just watched this time, but next time I'll try it out for sure!

Wow this place is cool!! Our family went to Drive Simulations for the first time and my teenage sons and husband had a blast. We'll definitely return. I reserved and paid for the simulators online ahead of time through their website. It's very simple. Once we arrived, we were greeted with enthusiasm by a fantastic guy named Chris. He is so incredibly helpful and has a super personality. He has a huge passion for cars and shared great convo with my sons. He also loves his job and it shows. He explained the different types of simulations available and steering wheel choices. Then they were off! Figuratively speaking. Omg they all had a ton of fun. Highly recommend this place! I should also mention these are high tech, high quality race simulators, and with a little coaching from Chris everyone was able to feel like a pro. Before we left, a couple other players joined in the conversation about cars. This is clearly a place where car enthusiasts like to hang, which is so awesome.

We were a bit disappointed because I had received an email that it was drift night, but when we arrived it had actually been the night before. Marketing really needs to have accurate messaging going out. I double checked the email to see if I'd read it right and it indeed had the wrong night listed. Kids were super bummed, but decided to go out and drive and still had a great time. The track was a tad slippery still from drift night so they actually had a few tiny drift moments. They have food and drinks available for reasonable prices. Mostly pub type food, as well as snacks and candy. Lots of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages available. There's a pool table and other games in an arcade area. Plenty of seating options. I love that electric carts are available, as I don't miss having to breathe in fumes with the former gas carts. Yay for technology! Plenty of parking out front. You can register to play online before you arrive or at the door.

You can pre register online and just check in upon arrival. You're immediately assigned a host to guide you through the event. In the beginning the process was a bit confusing but it all got sorted out by the time the race began. All drivers got a safety instruction. Then guided to 2 guys to help with helmet fitting. Birthday girl was girl in line as cars weee assigned to everyone in the party. There is a place to sit and watch the racers doing their laps. The 1st lap took some getting used to. But since it was a private track time for the party, there were no unnecessary public interactions crashing cars into each other. Safety first which I really appreciated. The girls had a complete blast once they figured out how the cars drove. There was a short 20 min break in between laps where they were given drink cards and game cards to use $10 ea. The second lap was the one that counts and who won 1st 2nd 3rd place. In the end everyone received a certificate and got to stand on the podium for pics. We brought our own cake. K1 provided the sliders and pretzel dogs and utensils plates. The party section was spacious and clean. Loved the decor. Great for older kids and adults as some of the parents, kids at heart, had to refrain from joining in on the party. Many of the kids weren't able to use their game card as we ran out of time. The kids saved it for their next visit. I would recommend this place for parties or a night out or even team building event.

"Ice cream in the morning...because I ran? YES, PLEASE and I'll be back tomorrow too!"…read more This past 4th of July, I took a lesson from our country's forefathers and became independent of a negative thought I've had for quite some time. Due to knee injuries from school yard basketball, ankle injuries from pure clumsiness, and just lack of physical endurance, I have never really liked to run. But exactly one year ago today, I made a promise to myself to workout more and eventually try to run a short race. On Independence Day, I made good on this promise. In preparation for the LIVESTRONG run (Support Team YELP! - http://www.yelp.com/events/san-jose-dyf-destroy-your-fat-livestrong-challenge-in-san-jose), I decided to run a practice 5K just to see what it was like running 3.1 miles outside. Waking up at dawn and after taking the morning poop, I head out to a very organized staging area. The staff and the volunteers were very helpful and friendly. With a ton of race day registrants, they were also super efficient at getting everyone through. Music was being played to pump up the runners as well. All of a sudden though, I hear someone on the loud speaker say: "10 minutes until the start! Please make your way to the starting line!" Nervousness, anxiousness, and excitement all began to rush through my body. Making my way to the start area, I just kept thinking "All I need to do is finish." The gun shoots off and I find myself amidst a pack of moving people. Overall the course is very flat and has people guiding everyone through the route. Split time markers were located at every mile, so you could gauge how fast you were going. The only thing that confused me was that you couldn't tell which times were for the 10K runners and the 5K runners (the 10K folks started a few minutes earlier). When I crossed the finish line, I was welcomed by a cheering crowd, ice cream, popsicles, bagels, muffins, oranges, bananas, and sports drinks. Today, I found out officially my time and place (136th place and 27:52). I've never been so happy to finish in 136th place. Overall, this was a great beginner run and I had a good time. Tips - *If you are a beginner runner like me, its important to get shoes that fit your gait. I'm overpronated and ran with neutral shoes, which really messed up my knees. Hit up a running shoe store or Sportsbasement and get the right shoes. You won't regret it.

I just ran the 4th of July 10K…read more This is a nice "small town" race. It's very simple; no chips, the 10K is just a double loop of the 5K, having to find a place to store your t-shirts because there is no pre-registration, and it took forever for the pictures to be posted. But it was nice. Sometimes the larger, more crowded races are overwhelming and too time consuming. The race started at 8:15 and we got there at 7:15 but really didn't need to be there until 7:45 or later. It wasn't crowded, and we could move around and easily got out of the crowd and found a nice running pace quickly. My biggest issue was that it overlapped the Town of Danville parade so I wasn't able to attend the parade with my husband and kids. I REALLY want to do this race next year but unless it's an hour earlier or the parade is an hour later, I don't think I'll be able to. I did come in 3rd in my age group though and that always feels good especially when you just took a year off of running.

This was cool because I was able to work on my pace and breathing without being distracted by elite runners. I was able to stay focus and really concentrate - getting into the zone and testing my limits. I did really well the first six miles. My past injuries didn't resurface. My momentum stayed consistent. And my thoughts of the Santa Cruz Half Marathon were in motion. Once I reached the ninth mile, I started to run out of gas. The fear of fatiguing out was upon me. There were only about 500 runners, and while the course wasn't particularly scenic, I had a good time overall. Here's the break down of my review: Organization -- 5 stars: The course has lots of volunteers along the way to shout out your time at the mile markers and to make sure you don't go off course (not really an issue, but still nice). At mile 10 you join up with the 5k runners, of whom there are MANY, at which point there was a separate lane for the half marathon runners. That part was especially appreciated. The sweat bag check in at the start was also very helpful, because I got pretty cold after the race and it was nice to be able to put on a clean, dry jacket. The race is a point to point course, and a shuttle was provided back to the starting line. A couple of snafus: There were mile markers missing at miles 1 and 10, which was a little frustrating. Also, the post race snacks were pretty meager. If I run this race again, I'll definitely put a sandwich in my sweats bag. Crowd support -- 4 stars. There weren't heaps and heaps of people watching, like at other races I've run, but there were enough people out there who were excited to see us run and grateful that the proceeds of the race would go to support the San Ramon school district. Course -- 3 stars: The course winds through residential areas of Danville and San Ramon, which is pretty dull, especially considering the number of races on the Bay Area that run through awesome, gorgeous terrain. That said, the race entrance fee is relatively low, and the course is flat and comfortable to run. Like I said, I had a great time running this race and I might do it again next year.

This I why, during my "let's become a runner" phase (which I continue to stay in now that I've gotten the hang of it) I decided to come back and give it a try as an adult. I arrived early, having researched the parking situation and seen that if I needed/wanted to leave right after I run (which I did), I'd have to park fairly far away from the actual event. I parked and hesitated a moment, wondering if I should bring my things with me (water bottle, snack, gear bag for my extra clothes... it was cold that morning!) and went ahead and brought it with me. I was early, so no thanks on freezing while I wait! I get to registration and receive my packet. I could already see that there was confusion within registration lines and there was no labeling or guidance whatsoever. I asked about gear check, to which everyone looked at me like deer in headlights. I even asked the woman who appeared to be guiding people into the registration lines, and when she gave me the same look and said she'd ask... well... she went right over to the same woman I had already gotten NO answer from. Sweet. No gear check?!? Seriously? I volunteered at a 10k of under 1000 participants, and even we had a gear check. It was really shocking to see that they didn't provide anything for runners to leave their things in a safe place! I fortunately found a volunteer who shall remain nameless who kindly hid my things under the table where she was stationed, and I was able to leave them there until I finished the race. Overall, it's a run for a good cause. Will I be back? Maybe. For nostalgia sake, or maybe for the 1/2 marathon if I can work myself up to that for next year!
