Went there today to but a license plate for a vehicle I had just purchased, and now there is no lineup like there used to be, but was told to register and sit in the waiting room where people had been waiting for better than 20 minutes just to talk to someone. In my opinion, this location has reached bottom and has started to dig.

I arrived at 8:30am for my 9:00am slot. The email you get emphasizes the importance of punctuality. By following this direction, I was apparently needlessly early. Staff got there around 8:45, which was fine, but I think either the email or booking system needs to be adjusted--for example, the first slot could be placed at 9:15 or 9:30. This would probably be better for staff too. This created a sense of confusion before the test (wondering if they had received my booking or the test would make me late getting back to work), and also wasted my friend's time who had taken the time to get up early and come with me. I also got hit with an extra charge for using my credit card when renewing my registration on an earlier day. Staff/examiners are overall polite. I've lived in provinces where the registries are not privatized, and have found the service to be more organized with more transparent pricing.

I got the test right away with the examiner Ken (who was also kind and knowledgeable) and got my license quickly back. Then they tell me the pre-month payment taken out will be refunded less their 5% service fee. I would not recommend them and will never go back even if their insurance quote is lower.

They give out free maps to members if your old school, or just like to look at the "Whole Picture" when planning a road trip. I don't use them for insurance either. What I do have is piece of mind when driving. I did use them to install a new battery in my son's car. They have a mobile battery service and don't charge you for an installation. I find that If you have the A.M.A app, you can have a battery install started within the app. I also use them for registering my vehicles, and for drivers license renewals. Also they offer driving school, and drivers testing exams. (Learners class 7, and drivers class 5). Overall, the service is professional, and the wait times if there are any go relatively quick. Been using them for years, and will continue to do so.

I must say it's been a life safer for towing fast if you're in an unsafe location. Where traffic is crazy or on the highway where no one stops to help. Now there is a downside and it's this, snow/ winter condition is always a factor in getting a tow. That will take hours to days, you're not the only one that needs help in these conditions on those days. Police get priority for tow truck to clear up accidents. Those are the days I stay home and don't drive anywhere. I have paid for my membership over and over with the services they supply. From movie tickets, travel insurance, travel agents, money exchange, motor vehicle registration, passport just to name a few the list goes on. If you look at what AMA offer it's well worth the fee for the membership. This location has parking and one electric vehicle charging station. It could be limited when busy.
