I feel like the only time I pop into here for a drink tends to be after dinner nearby. And this…read morevisit, it was literally that. We did pop in when it was still early so the place was pretty mellow. Even at 9pm, there was a security guard out front checking people's Id. Inside, it's a dark vibe but nice. Lots of plush comfy sofas for seating. The layout can be a tight squeeze in the seating area at the front as the sofas are pretty big and close together. Then add in the guest, it could get tight but a fun vibe. Main floor area has the bar to one side and the dance floor at the other end. The whole place does turn into a dance floor when it's fully packed. What's nice about this place, they have a nice outdoor patio. Not a lot of bars along this strip offer that which is nice. Bar area is along one side but getting a drink when it's packed can be a challenge. They always have a decent amount of bartenders on deck so that does help but with people coming from all ends trying to order, it can get a bit tricky. Dj is along the side where the dance floor is. As for our visit, Friday which around 9 was still early. The good thing about that, getting a drink was a cinch. Majority of the people were either on the patio or the front lounge. It was pretty full in the front which I think it was a group that were all together. We were there long enough for a drink give or take half an hour the most and by then, the place was pretty empty. I feel like most people tends to come around 10:30 or 11:00. Not sure if they have an entrance fee or not but certain night when they have events, the place is very lively. Then I believe you would need to purchase tickets for that. Parking situation is a major bitch as street parking is pretty sparse. Neighborhood parking is very limited as the locals know that if they move their car, say goodbye to your parking spot. So if you know the area, parking is tricky. It's a cool little bar that I used to go to when I lived down here many years ago which used to be called The Brit. Still a fun vibe.

I sat at the bar and had a few Jack and cokes, they were made perfectly. The bartenders were very friendly and kind, handsome too. Would stop in here again next time I'm in Long Beach.

I was there on 6/27. We watched 2 games. Upon stepping out to leave, I decided i wanted to use the restroom and turned around to walk in and the security at the front stopped me. He told me I had to pay $10 cover charge. I reminded him I was already there and JUST walked out. He didn't care. "$10 to go in or leave" I let it go, I just wanted to wash my hands and didn't want to get into it with that loser. Met with my Husband he gives me cash and whatever decided i was just gonna pay to wash my hands. Come around the back try to hand security the money and that guy looked at me confused. I told him what pea brain in the front said about the cover charge and he shook his head and told me not to worry and go in. I was in and out quick and I thanked him for being a gentleman. Sooo, maybe you might wanna look into your shady a** security. 7/3 I get there at 1:30 bar area is empty we sit with my friend we are being served everything was great. UNTIL a security dude came out of NO WHERE, 30 mins into the 3pm game and tells me I need to move because i'm in the way. I told him I had been there since 1:30pm and no one told me to move and def didn't tell me about the "bar line" that I was all of the sudden in the way of. The bartender should have told me to move right away if i was in the way, WHEN THERE WAS MORE SEATS AVAILABLE!!! NOT WHEN IT WAS 30 MINS INTO THE GAME AND I HAD NO OTHER PLACE TO MOVE TO! IT WAS PACKED BY THEN! I really didn't appreciate that he was yelling at me, he was rude from the beginning and when i gave him the same energy back, he told me he was going to KICK ME OUT IF I DIDN'T CALM DOWN. He was giving LDE. When i asked for his name and to speak to the manager he walked away. MIND YOU.... after that some guy ended up standing right next to me the REST OF THE GAME. HE WAS IN FRONT OF THE LINE THE WHOLE TIME AND NO ONE SAID A DAMN THING. I have pictures with time stamps of this guy next to me the whole game. But some how he just wanted to be puffy chested with a woman. Horrible staff. Horrible place. Treat your customer's with respect, don't forget we are the ones that keep your doors open.

Artesia Bar, your Redondo Beach must!…read more This South Bay gem located on the street it's named after on Artesia Blvd has no private parking, but surprisingly a good amount of street parking and is open 7 days a week from 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM, 7PM on Mondays. Happy Hour all night on Mondays only as well as until Until 8 PM all those other days in a full week (Tuesday through Sunday). They have karaoke nights, drag shows, drag bingo, game/trivia nights, leather nights, special events like the one I attended, plus more! Bar seating, table seating (tall tables) and patio seating with some great lighting. TVs, KJs and DJs, cool sound system and gender neutral restrooms. The only queer bar in all of Los Angeles Counties, South Bay area and it's a good one! Love the bar staff we met including my pal Nick (one of the KJs), Erick (crazy kind and handsome bartender) and Miss Georgia Line (one of the incredible owners and performers). Drinks are delicious and reasonable. They also have snacks like chips or candy for sale. Artesia Bar is local to a lot, including a few walkable eateries for a bigger meal before, after or returning to the bar. The crowd shifts as the night goes on, more people trickling in after 9pm and beyond. I did come here once many years ago before newer ownership (2024 to present), but it didn't leave quite the impression like it has in more recent times. Great place to celebrate the start of pride season. All inclusive, that includes allies! If you'd like to inquire about events or book an event you can email them at ArtesiaBar.RB@gmail.com. Frequent updates on their social media, Facebook and Instagram. Sashay in to this fun time den.

Felt as though I were in México, not in Distrito Federal but in a less cosmopolitan city where in the old days Straights and Gays kind of mixed together although in some bigger venues there were areas where Gays had their own corner. Redz Bar is too small for separation, and it makes it hard to determine who is who. I was there on a busy Saturday around 9pm. All the tables were taken by party goers. I stole one of the few bar stools still left. Beer & wine bar: Ordered a Michelada that is bloody mary mix from a bottle, lemon juice, worchester sauce?, Modelo Mexican beer. The lip of the huge mug is lined with a salty, not very piquant chile powder like El Tajín. It's a refreshing, savory, Umami bomb just perfect on a hot day or night. My first Michelada ever. So I look around and it seems like a regular neighborhood Latino bar. If there are any Gays they were sprinkled around and not particularly & obviously visible. The friendly bartendress offered a free plate of antojitos / snacks which consisted of a small Tamal de Puerco con Salsa de Chile Colorado, and a bowl of Bírria soup in consommé w/ a small piece of goat. To me this Bírria tasted closer to a Pozole. Very hospitable gesture by Redz to give out such a tasty mini-meal. Redz caters to an East Los Angeles clientele. It's a liitle piece of México. Music is loud with Norteño & Son Afro-Mexican music from Veracruz tonight. I felt comfortable, and a nice Latina lady sitting next to me talked in her limited English and I in limited Spanish. Nice way to experience the East Los scene. 4 stars.
