Artesia Bar, your Redondo Beach must!…read more This South Bay gem located on the street it's named after on Artesia Blvd has no private parking, but surprisingly a good amount of street parking and is open 7 days a week from 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM, 7PM on Mondays. Happy Hour all night on Mondays only as well as until Until 8 PM all those other days in a full week (Tuesday through Sunday). They have karaoke nights, drag shows, drag bingo, game/trivia nights, leather nights, special events like the one I attended, plus more! Bar seating, table seating (tall tables) and patio seating with some great lighting. TVs, KJs and DJs, cool sound system and gender neutral restrooms. The only queer bar in all of Los Angeles Counties, South Bay area and it's a good one! Love the bar staff we met including my pal Nick (one of the KJs), Erick (crazy kind and handsome bartender) and Miss Georgia Line (one of the incredible owners and performers). Drinks are delicious and reasonable. They also have snacks like chips or candy for sale. Artesia Bar is local to a lot, including a few walkable eateries for a bigger meal before, after or returning to the bar. The crowd shifts as the night goes on, more people trickling in after 9pm and beyond. I did come here once many years ago before newer ownership (2024 to present), but it didn't leave quite the impression like it has in more recent times. Great place to celebrate the start of pride season. All inclusive, that includes allies! If you'd like to inquire about events or book an event you can email them at ArtesiaBar.RB@gmail.com. Frequent updates on their social media, Facebook and Instagram. Sashay in to this fun time den.

In addition, I cannot get over how fun their karaoke nights are. I used to frequent Broadway Bar in Long Beach for this but after the terrible service and the fact that the dj would limit customers to what they can sing, I was blown away when the dj here allowed customers to sing any song they wanted. Keep up the great work Artesia!

Felt as though I were in México, not in Distrito Federal but in a less cosmopolitan city where in the old days Straights and Gays kind of mixed together although in some bigger venues there were areas where Gays had their own corner. Redz Bar is too small for separation, and it makes it hard to determine who is who. I was there on a busy Saturday around 9pm. All the tables were taken by party goers. I stole one of the few bar stools still left. Beer & wine bar: Ordered a Michelada that is bloody mary mix from a bottle, lemon juice, worchester sauce?, Modelo Mexican beer. The lip of the huge mug is lined with a salty, not very piquant chile powder like El Tajín. It's a refreshing, savory, Umami bomb just perfect on a hot day or night. My first Michelada ever. So I look around and it seems like a regular neighborhood Latino bar. If there are any Gays they were sprinkled around and not particularly & obviously visible. The friendly bartendress offered a free plate of antojitos / snacks which consisted of a small Tamal de Puerco con Salsa de Chile Colorado, and a bowl of Bírria soup in consommé w/ a small piece of goat. To me this Bírria tasted closer to a Pozole. Very hospitable gesture by Redz to give out such a tasty mini-meal. Redz caters to an East Los Angeles clientele. It's a liitle piece of México. Music is loud with Norteño & Son Afro-Mexican music from Veracruz tonight. I felt comfortable, and a nice Latina lady sitting next to me talked in her limited English and I in limited Spanish. Nice way to experience the East Los scene. 4 stars.
