Jerk Chicken, yellow rice, plantains, cabbage, and green salad.

The smells coming out of this place was calling me. I was already looking for a bite to eat, and that awesome aroma made it easy. I was not disappointed at all. I opted for the spicy jerk chicken. The lady preparing the food asked if I was sure I wanted spicy because it was not the typical American spicy. I opted in to take the plunge. My nose did run, yes. However, the flavors of the chicken were intense and good. So the spiciness was worth it.  It was served with plantains, green salad,  yellow rice, and cabbage, all of which were good. The lady taking my order and the lady preparing the food were both dynamic. They provided excellent customer service.

The services were great and the food was absolutely amazing!! The atmosphere was delightfully quaint. I would give it more stars if it were possible.

So freakin good! When they say spicy, they mean SPICY, but so flavorful & worth it. I don't normally like jerk flavor but the jerk chicken plate with plantains, rice, veggies was so yummy. Beef patty was also amazing! Husband said it reminds him of childhood, lol. Best, these ladies working there were sweet & gave us assurance they were halal + let us know a mosque was nearby for Friday prayer. This lil hole in the wall is the real deal- Support local! Note* they are cash or venmo & don't have inside seating but did have a couple tables outside!

My lunch was amazing! Fresh off the grill and worth the wait. The fried plantain was (chef's kiss) perfect.

When they say spicy, they mean spicy! I got the Jerk shrimp and it had a lot of flavors going on, and mind the spicy. They had a mild choice as well. Heads up, when I went on 10/13 they were cash only right now

Whole red fish. This is life changing, my goodness.

So much YES. First of all, who doesn't love a good hole in the wall? Second of all, this is some of the best food I've ever had. We ordered a whole red fish with rice and veggies (and of course plántanos) The fish was scaled fresh to order, need I say more? Treat yourself and your tummy and check this awesome spot.

Love their jerk chicken. It's a little spot on bayou rd and so underrated. Definitely check it out and get oxtail or jerk chicken.

Honduran food in New Orleans? Definitely!…read more After Match Day, we went to celebrate at Tia Maria's Kitchen. Love, love, love this cozy mama and papa restaurant. It was busy at lunchtime, but it gave us time to reflect on the hard work that led to two of my daughters matching in great residency programs. Two years ago, we also celebrated another amazing match day with a friend who flew in from San Francisco to help our family celebrate. I had the San Pedro Maduro. A deep fried plantain filled with veggies, black beans, avocados, crema and queso. I had mine with chicken. One of my daughters did hers with more veggies. Absolutely delicious! My family ordered a wide variety of papusas and tacos. Definitely add an agua Fresca. Loved the horchata, but the favorite was the moracuya. Blackberry and passion fruit. So refreshing and delicious. Muchas gracias for welcoming our family and friends into your cocina familiar. We loved enjoying your family's kitchen on a special day celebrating another chapter of our family's journey. #2800

I've been wanting to hold back on this review because I swear every time I go, there's so many people ordering takeout or dining it! It very much is getting the attention it deserves. I will say, pricier than your other honduran joints but this one is worth it. You can taste the love and fresh ingredients they pour into this place. If you can, go with a group of people so you can try a bunch of dishes. You seriously cant go wrong with anything on the menu but my favs are: Mega Baleada with carne asada and their pupusas! I've had the pastelitos, enchildas hondurenas, combo miramar, combo lempira. Note: Anything that mentions Hondurenas (tacos and enchiladas) they're different than your typical Mexican style!**

It's one of those local spots where you can just chill, enjoy great food and drinks, and soak up the Esplanade vibes. No wonder we. the locals love it!

Back in the day, Santa Fe was on Frenchman in the Marigny, and it was the top player in the city as far as Mexican food went. Then it closed (boo-hoooo ). Santa Fe eventually reopened in its current location on Esplanade, which makes this a much more accessible place for a Lakeview girl! AND It's divine!!! There is no wrong selection here! Everything on the menu is delicious. I love the Tableside Guacamole and their Ceviche is the best ever!!! The seafood dishes are mouth watering, and so are their more traditional appetizers and entrees. OMG... the tamales!!! I do recommend that you tread carefully through their drink menu. The bartenders are some of the best in the city, and those drinks will sneak in and strait mess you up without warning... not in a polite, delicate way, more like in a wake-up-the-next-morning-in-your neighbor's-Christmas-manger-scene kind of way (I did not do that, but that's where I found my friend at 6AM. She was clinging to a wise man and holding Baby J like a Heisman trophy football!). I digress. We went back the next day for the best Sunday Brunch in the city and a little hair of the dog. You just cannot go wrong here! I LOVE LOVE LOVE SANTA FE!

I always get the tongue because it is flavorful and moist and delicious and reminds me of Mexico. Presentation and quality are always consistent! The tortillas are tasty and soft. The green sauce that comes with the tacos is just spicy enough to give it a kick, but not cover the flavor of the tacos. I always get delivery and these are often on sale $10 for three tacos which is a great value. Honestly, these are the best most authentic tacos in town! Caldo de Res is my other go-to dish here. It's $20 but they don't skimp on portions and I usually get two meals out of it. The delicious soup comes with a healthy portion of beef, rice, limes, hot tortillas, and all the fixings. It's the ultimate comfort food. I haven't dined in the restaurant so I can't speak to service, but every order is always correct and well packaged! The Al Pastor tacos had good flavor, and the shredded beef quesadilla was probably the highlight.
