Update: service is very slow! Food is tasty but not amazing if you're from the Caribbean. My friends from the islands thought the food was just decent.

Awesome experience! The food, service and ambiance were all on point. The restaurant gets a five all day. Service We had a group of 23 for a birthday celebration, and the service was outstanding. It started when a gentleman came from behind the counter and asked if we'd like to put a cake we brought in the fridge. He even offered to add candles when I said we didn't have any. Shakiyah was amazing. She was knowledgeable, attentive, fast, and personable, everything you desire in a server. When I asked for the cake, she recommended the dirty dishes be removed, first. And after we sang the traditional Happy Birthday song, the restaurant played Stevie Wonder's "Happy Birthday" afterward. It's little things like this that make a significant, positive impact. Ambiance It's a beautiful restaurant with great views of the levee and riverfront. To see the huge ships such as the Carnival cruise ship navigate down the river, up close and personal, is a sight to see. They played different genres of music during our time there, and it added to the vibe. The restaurant has high ceilings, is airy, and has nice-looking wooden tables and countertops. The walls are adorned with island-inspired folk paintings. Food Coconut shrimp: 9/10; tender and fruity, and served with sweet Thai chili dipping sauce. Festival: 9/10; these lightly sweetened, beignet-like, fried logs of goodness were a delightful treat. Beef patty: 8/10; the pastry dough reminded me of the crust from a frozen pot pie, which isn't a bad thing. It took me back to my childhood. Flaky, buttery and spicy. Mac n cheese: 8/10; creamy Mashed potatoes: 8/10; seasoned, buttery, and we couldn't confirm if they had coconut milk, but they were great. Oxtails: 8/10; why are these things so expensive?! They were good, but my homemade ones are more tender. They were served in a rich brown sauce with potatoes. Eat these with mashed potatoes or rice and peas. At $25 for 3 or 4 small pieces, it's a turnoff. NY Strip: 8/10; tender and well-seasoned, with a bit of a kick. The fruity Hibiscus dipping sauce is a great accompaniment. Plantains: 8/10; I'm not the biggest fan of plantains, but they were tasty and would be just right on top of vanilla ice cream or in a bananas foster dessert. Jerk wings (fried) w/ bbq sauce: 8/10; what a difference sauce makes. Dip the wings in the sauce before consuming. If they make this sauce in-house, it needs to be bottled and sold. Yum. Callaloo: 8/10; almost tastes like homemade turnip greens. Kingfish bites: 7/10: fried to golden perfection. Jerk wings (fried) w/o bbq sauce: 6/10; they taste burnt and underseasoned without the sauce. Cornbread: 6/10; these bricks were dry as all get out, but others enjoyed them. Curry goat: Others said it was good, but I can't confirm. Curry chicken: Others said it was good, but I can't confirm. Short ribs: Others said it was good, but I can't confirm. We'll be back.

AMAZINGGGG food and drinks! Plantains so good and fresh Cabbage nice flavor not spicy

    Rum Punch

Rum punch did not disappoint! The flavor was perfectly balanced sweet but not too sugary, with a smooth tropical kick from the rum. You can really taste the blend of fruit juices.

    The star! Jerk short ribs

Everything was amazing!! Yannie was the best server, she was such a sweetheart! The ambiance was great, felt like we were dining with family. AND most importantly, THEE FOOD, delicious! We shared a few entrees and appetizers... Apps: the flakiest beef patties, jerk shrimp quesadillas and fried jerk wings. DELICIOUS! Entrees: jerk lamb chop, oxtails and the fried jerk porkchop was great with the rice and peas, mac n cheese, cabbage, plantain and festival. Get IT ALL. But the star of the show, the entree I selected was the jerk short rib!!! I had to hug the chef, they did that!! Lastly, the carrot cheesecake with rum sauce was very tasty! I could only eat a bite because we ATE everything. Lol. I cant wait to go back! Sorry I didnt take better pics, I was ready to eat!

My first time trying this restaurant. I ordered to go fried cauliflower, jerk chicken plate, curry Chana and potato with rice and peas and salmon sliders. My order was ready in a little under 20 minutes. The food is amazing, but I was very disappointed at the portion size of the salmon sliders For $15 it wasn't worth it for the price imo.

It was very nice in the place. The waitress was very friendly .The jerk chicken quesadillas, the jerk, chicken, dark meat, and the mac and cheese and the carrot cheesecake ,cornbread rum punch was the best things. But the rice and peas and the spinach rice was dry. The chicken curry didn't have much flavor The jerk pork ribs was dry too. Half the party didn't like their food .

The food was just ok. The service was good. It wasn't busy at all. The oxtails could've been a little more tender.

Brown chicken, plantains and mixed veggies!

Food was DELICIOUS!! Service was fast. No waitresses/waiters. You have to scan QR Code. Everything was on point. This is the Westbank location.

Great new restaurant in the Point. A little expensive but it hits the spot. You can also find it on Uber eats.

Supposedly…read morereservations were hard to get, but that is because they allot most of the place for walk-ins, so you don't need to put in the effort that I did to book a time a month in advance. We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

Booking was surprisingly easy, and even after changing the reservation multiple times, I was still able to find availability at most of my preferred times. The only thing I couldn't secure was indoor seating. Since this was during a rainy December, I wasn't thrilled about being seated outside on the back patio. When we arrived, we asked if there was any possibility of moving indoors, but unfortunately nothing was available. They did have heaters outside, though there's only so much that can be done when it's cold and raining. The menu is fascinating and very creatively laid out. I ordered the Sazerac, and my husband got another cocktail along with some food. The drinks were good, but I did find them a little overhyped ,though that may simply have come down to my choice of drink. My feeling is that when a bar is ranked among the best in the world, every cocktail on the menu should feel exceptional especially classics . I would still consider it a worthwhile experience overall. The service leaned slightly pretentious, which we weren't particularly fond of, and ultimately we decided not to stay for another round. Realistically, I'd probably rate it closer to three stars, but some of the downsides may have just been circumstantial, so four stars feels fair.

Whether sitting at the bar, or in one of the many lounge chairs on the opposite wall, every seat is an excellent. While I knew of the drink French 75, on the bar menu it was offered with either gin or cognac. I decided to try the cognac and so glad I did. Perfectly delicious! It turns out that drink is actually a French 125, so I learned something new that night. Great spot with a great vibe.

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.

Atmosphere/Appearance: It's EXTREMELY BUSY and very loud in here. Lol. As mentioned above, the bar is located inside the hotel so once you walk in through the front door you enter the lobby then head to the right. It's a first-come, first-serve situation (at least it was for us at the time). So of course, the carousel bar is the highlight. It's a slow rotating bar rail and it's adorable. Lol. Almost the entire bar is eyeing any available spots so you have to be quick, but be respectful. However, there are tables and such sprinkled throughout the bar where you can hangout at as you stalk the actual carousel. My wife and I sat in the window which made for some excellent people watching. Lol. Eventually after what felt like an hour or we did spot some spots on the carousel, my wife held them for me as I closed the check then finally got to sit... and SPIN! The bar completes a full revolution every 15 minutes so you definitely won't get dizzy. Service: We had no issues here whatsoever. The staff is just super busy all over the place, but they didn't miss a beat. Food: For my first drink I checked out their Oaxacan Midnight which was like a tequila play on the Old Fashioned. It was delicious, a bit lighter than an Old Fashioned, but certainly stood on it's own. For our first appetizer bar bite we tried the Blue Crab & Corn Beignet which didn't come out as I was expecting. Lol. I'm not mad, I just pictured the big, fluffy things from Cafe Du Monde, but maybe stuffed with goodies! These were more like fritter than I absolutely loved so much I ordered a 2nd plate. Lastly we tried the BBQ Shrimp which was grilled to perfection with a good snap, excellent flavor and good char along with a tangy, cream sauce on top. Value: It's pricey. Food and drinks were decent, but a SMIDGE overpriced, but... they know you're going to pay because you're on vacation, you're a tourist and you wanna be in this novelty bar. Lol. Regardless, I had a blast and you can say you did too whenever you check this place out! In conclusion, I've now been there, done that. Lol. I don't have to do it again, but if you're in the area, check this place out. It's a good time.

The Apothecary was the cure. We grabbed seats mid bar and before we even finished settling in, there were waters waiting on the bar. That simple move already separated this place from the chaos outside. It's hospitality in its cleanest form: welcome in, take a breath, we got you. Inside is low light and old time apothecary mood, menus like a spellbook, but it's not gimmicky. The bartenders move like they've done the reps. Calm. Precise. No frantic showboating, no syrupy cover ups, no sloppy pours even with the parade energy banging on the door. We ordered two and they were both dead on. Alchemist Elixir: pea flower gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon. It shows up pale violet with an orchid on the rim and yes it's pretty, but it's also disciplined. Floral without tasting like perfume. Bright without being sour. A drink that makes you slow down. Plus a magic chemists surprise. Corpse Reviver #2: local gin, Lillet Blanc, Grand Marnier, absinthe, fresh lemon. Cold, crisp, citrus first, then the herbal edge and just enough absinthe to remind you what city you're in. Served in a textured coupe with a cherry skewer, details handled like they actually matter. Outside, the streets were selling amnesia in plastic souvenir cups. Inside, The Apothecary was serving adults. Let Bourbon Street keep the grenades. Give me the anecdote .
