Good, but pricey food. It's definitely a spot for a nicer or more romantic dinner. If you're a picky eater, I'd recommend looking at the menu ahead of time. I only had one or two options that appealed to me. I ordered the steak frites, and it was delicious. My drink was great as well. Our server was friendly and even gave us complimentary shots for my friend's bachelorette, which was a fun touch. The only downside was that there was just one single, gender neutral bathroom for the entire restaurant, which felt a little odd and could be inconvenient if it's busy. We stumbled upon Cane & Table last year by accident - what a cute place with a serious menu. Not only will you find James Beard award winning cocktails but the service is best in class. Pina Coladas aren't usually my brand, but damn Gina...these are good! Hand blended and elevated to creamy perfection (hafta recommend the extra rum floater on top). We tried a Toffee & Tequila drink because the flavor combination won our curiosity (it tasted like an espresso drink which I don't enjoy) but we sure liked the thought. She switched to an off-menu drink the server recommended called a Saturn which was quickly emptied. I had a few bourbon & rum cocktails called the Fancy Bombo - and those got me right. We only wanted a couple of shareable small plates to hold us over so we tried the Crab Croquetas and corn tamal. The croquetas were had a crunchy fried exterior and cheesey crab goodness within. I could've eaten about 82 of them if we didn't have dinner reservations elsewhere a few hours later. The corn tamal was a polenta disc topped with so much deliciousness that had me considering cancelling my other reservations. As good as the food & drink are - the service really seals the deal. Everyone in the place is a foodie and exudes a level of sophistication when you inquire about anything. The staff is quick to engage, explain and recommend when called upon. There is a vibe here that will keep me coming back for more. I will just put this out there for those that may need it (and you know who you are) - if you are intolerant of different lifestyles, sexualities and flamboyance...this IS NOT a place you may care for. Many of the staff is diverse and LGBQT adjacent/forward. Fresh, yet decadent. The bartender described it as a warm hug and that somehow nails this curry red drum dish which was extravagantly topped with crawfish. The FQ has a lot of mediocre (to very poor) restaurants that are nothing more than tourist traps... this in not one of those places. We really like this place and I've been there a few times over the years. The sweet corn tamale app was phenomenal. We also liked the crawfish croquettes. I think we had a avocado salad, but maybe confusing that with another restaurant. The cold shrimp with tomatoes and cucumbers, were served with fried saltines, which go well with everything (great food delivery vehicle). We also have the fish and the shrimp entrées, which were both excellent. I ordered the ribs, and they were so soaked in vinegar that they were not palatable. There was slaw on top that was vinegar based, but the ribs also had vinegar added. Another person in our party decided to try them. When we talked to the server about them, we were told they were inspired by Carolina style sauces. We went to Cane and Table for the official graduation dinner. When I reviewed the menu, I was not very excited about going but this is where the graduate picked. I was WRONG! The food here was unbelievable. We shared a number of appetizers with the highlight being the brussels sprouts - they were the hit of the night. I had the pork ribeye for dinner and it was perfect. I did not need a knife, it was fall apart tender and so flavorful. The cocktails were amazing as was the service. We were able to sit outside (again not much of a sit outside person) but this was a perfect little courtyard, they weather was perfect and the cats hanging out on the patio were chill and really could not be bothered with any of us. Ambiance: Came here on a weekend and was surprised to see a cocktail bar closing at 10pm every night. They have a small but enjoyable list of cocktails featuring bright and tropical flavors. The bar tenders were friendly and our drinks came out in a timely fashion. Drinks: Despite all the tropical flavors, the cocktails were well-balanced and skewed on the side of being alcohol-forward. Nothing was cloyingly sweet or too froufrou despite how it looked the menu. We had a few cocktails but the Which Ube U Be was the crowd favorite since the ube root added a nice creamy sweetness you don't often see in a cocktail and we felt it was the one we'd have a hard time finding at any other bar. Overall this place is a solid banger for cocktails. The drinks are fun, creative, and not overly expensive. My only wish was that this place stayed open later so we could stay here longer. This was our last stop on our food and booze tour. We were seated in a back outdoor courtyard. We had fried plantains and pork cracklings with a daiquiri. The plantains had this deep dark burnt ends look to them. A red Macha sauce and crema were on the bottom of the plate with a stack of fried plantains. The dish was really pretty and it tasted just as good as it looked. The cracklings were fried crispy pig skin, curry seasoned and finished with a cane sugar drizzle. The drizzle with seasoning was a great combination. The soft creamy plantains and the super crispy cracklings were a great pairing. The daiquiri was rum, sugar and lime juice. It was served in a cute coupe style glass. Everyone at are table thought it reminded us of a margarita with rum and an unsalted rim. We definitely want to come back and try more items. A very cute and trendy little spot, I must say. A local suggested going to this little Caribbean spot, which was different than all of the Cajun/creole places we had visited, so it was a different flavor profile break (still very good!) First and foremost, my friend and I weren't too hungry, but still wanted to try items off the menu. I got the frozen piña colada inside of a coconut with the floating rum. It was refreshing with the right amount of alcohol, as well as aesthetically pleasing. My friend wasn't sure what she wanted, and after telling the waiter she liked mezcal, he suggested a mezcal margarita (which was not on the menu), so that was so lovely of him to do that! For food, we just did the crab croquetas and salad. The croquetas were elite. So flavorful. The salad was also a 10/10 despite it being a little on the simple side (because it was a salad), but the taste was elevated. I wanted to try the shrimp cocktail, octopus, brussel sprouts and ribs (half the menu, essentially), but I was afraid we wouldn't be able to finish it and we had so much piling up at our hotel fridge. This is a cute little bar tucked in the French Quarter with a nice outdoor patio. We stopped in for some cold drinks after wandering outside in the June heat. I got the Frozen Paloma and my fiancé got the Hurricane & Table. Both drinks were awesome and refreshing, although quite strong in my opinion. We also got the Yucca fries and those were great! I wasn't sure what to expect as I have never had Yucca but these exceeded my expectations. They held their shape and could pass for a thick cut potato fry. The chimichurri sauce was yummy. Cute little eatery on Royal street just a block away from the French market. We made a reservation a week in advance for NYE and we were pleasantly surprised. The hostess was very nice and led us to our table outside where we promptly met the two house cats. Our server ran us through the specials and shared his recommendations. We enjoyed the plantains, Brussels sprouts, arroz con pollo and the agnolotti special. This was more than enough food for the two of us as everything is well portioned. Very solid. We were able to get a somewhat last-minute reservation here for dinner on a Sunday. I thought the food was very good. The best thing we had of all was the crab croquetas. The crispy ribs and fish rundown were both very good. The crispy pork skins were skippable. Drinks are exactly what you'd expect -- fun, strong, and creative, but trending toward too sweet. The atmosphere is fun. Primary questions would be prices and service. They give fair warning that they automatically include a 20% service surcharge, but the prices are high enough that I actually thought at first that they meant service was included. As locals it had been a while since we were back at Cane and Table and the food was as creative and on point as we remember. However the server was another story. When we were seated the host kindly told us an automatic 20% would be added to the bill. Normally that is not an issue for us as we usually tip a minimum of 20% for fair service. However our server Lisa O clearly had an attitude. While ordering our drinks and appetizers we were clearly pressured to order our main courses even though we were not ready. We then hurried to comply. Then twice while eating our appetizers when it was obvious we were not finished or server asked if we were dine and stayed she was not trying to rush us which in fact she clearly did. Then halfway through our main courses I ordered another cocktail and a glass of wine for my wife. She waited to finish her dinner until the wine arrived and when it did not after a reasonable amount of time and I do mean reasonable, she asked the served to cancel the glass of wine and she did so in a dismissive manner. The worst part was when the bill arrived. The charge for the glass of wine was from removed but it was removed as a discount with the 20% service charge applied to the cancelled wine charge. When we pointed this out to the servrr there was no apology and within seconds she brought the correct bill and just about threw it on the table without saying a word. Again good was very very good but the attitude of our server was a big downer on what would have been an enjoyable evening. read more

We had researched and found a picture of a drink that we were interested in, but found out it was no longer on menu. Our bartender prepared the drink anyway! The food: We had the Grilled Octopus, Sweet Plantains, and Fish Rundown. All were very good. The taste of plantains and grilled octopus were very surprising. The fish in the rundown was cooked to a crispy perfection. The rundown had more of an Indian flavor than Caribbean to me. The music and dimly lit bar created a great ambiance. We stopped in Nola for a very short visit. My partner had been here before and thought it was worth going back. Cane & Table is definitely serving up delicious food and wonderful cocktails. This was one of our favorite meals we had in NOLA. Their back patio is so cute and tropical and service was absolutely stellar. The menu changes daily depending on seasonal availability and features lots of fun and bright Caribbean dishes. We started with the Crawfish Croquetas and Tostones. I highly suggest you order whatever version of croquetas they have for that day because they were super tasty. I just wish the order was double the size!
